When in Long Beach WA, this is a awesome place to come for cheesesteaks, sandwiches and smoothies! Cheesesteaks are filled with wonderfully seasoned steak (not deli roast beef that's grilled), topped with creamy Swiss cheese, grilled onions (we added garlic & mushrooms) all served up on a fresh hoagie that is baked in-house daily. Hubby and I split our hoagie and we each had a mixed berry smoothie. Totally delicious on both counts and the proprietor was friendly and appreciative of our business. Seating is outside on picnic tables, so winter options will be to eat in the car. They have shorter hours in winter, so check before going by. But if you're in Long Beach and hungry for lunch, I don't think you'll be disappointed. Not an authentic Philly, e.g., no cheese whiz product squirted on it, but a really tasty sandwich. read more

We we're visiting family in Ocean Park and had to run my dad to the hospital for his sciatic pain pass this place there was a lot of people out took my dad home picked up his prescriptions and stopped off to try this place out we are so glad that we did!! I was in town visiting my grandparents and saw this place while driving into town. Have to stop anytime I see Cheese Steaks advertised. Surfer Sands did not disappoint. I purchased the original cheese steak. The steak was nice and tender and favorable with plenty of cheese and onions. The in house made roles where nice and soft and yet crunchy. I've been going to Surfer Sands for the past 6 years or so on annual trips to Long Beach. With the change in ownership, I feel the quality is still excellent. The bread is soft and fresh, the amount of meat seems to be the same, and the creamy melty cheese is perfect. I always look forward to eating here, and it is one of the reasons I go to Long Beach as opposed to coastal towns closer to me. The sandwiches were very large, loaded with meat and cheese. I would of liked to choose the bread. They only offer one (white). We had two different types of sandwiches. Both bland and no taste. Peppers or red onions or pepper Jack cheese would of been good. I had no desire to finish mine. Even mustard would of added flavor. I'm not sure if I'll be back. They were very quick in preparing these and delivered them to the car and the price was decent. But all in all if the food isn't good I won't be back. I've tried to eat here a few times, but it's always been closed, so I'm glad we caught them open today, even in the wind storm. I love sandwiches, especially on a hot day - but it takes a really good one for me to actually pay someone else to make it. I will gladly pay Surfer Sands, I only wish they were closer to me! I had the Philly Cheese Steak and my hubby had the Wipe Out sandwich - both were sooooo delicious and really big. We could only eat one half at a time! I read recently their Philly was voted one of the best sandwhiches of the northwest and it did not dissapoint. Be forwarned though - they sell out of the philly bread quickly on busy weekends - we came down for the Sandcastle Festival and they were out very early on in the day, this weekend was the Kite Festival and I got THE LAST one on Sunday afternoon, the least busy day (yay lucky me!!) so if you want one - get there early! You can tell the bread for both sandwiches is homemade - it's so light and fluffy soft, it's a treat all on it's own. The ingredients in between the bread slices is also fresh and crisp (Wipe Out) and the Philly was hot and gooey - which is exactly what I wanted for a good Philly. They also have smoothies and "Big Salads" however, we didn't try those, but the sandwhiches were so good, I'll for sure be trying other menu items next time. We will definately be making this one of our traditional stops when we're in town, which is quite often. read more

Chatted with the friendly owner and employees while our order was being made. (Word of warning; if you rely on GPS to find this place, you'll pass it. Just look for the place across from Subway.) Our order comes, we say our goodbyes, and head to the beach with our goodies. Went here with the whole family last week, 4 adults and 3 kids. We had the pizza and it was a big hit with young and old. Pizza was decent and reasonably priced and the staff could not have been nicer. The pizza is fresh and made to order, so it takes about 15 minutes. Kids are not big on patience, especially when they are hungry. The owner came out periodically to give us updates which were greatly appreciated and kept the kids and grammy calm. This place was pretty busy with people ordering food and waiting in their car in the parking lot. We were enjoying a walk around town and walked up to the window. Nowhere dry to sit unfortunately so we had to take our food to go. Ordered the pepper cheesestake, but it was sparsely filled with the good stuff. It was mostly onions. I got maybe one mushy pepper and a tiny amount of steak. I really expected more filling, but it was a ton of bread with greasy onions inside. I expected a busy Saturday at lunch time to have better sandwiches than this coming out. I would skip this stop next time in Long Beach since there are other places around. read more
