Always the best food and fairly priced! We LOVE it! Absolutely worth a try! Simple and good.

a burger and a hot dog

This place was pretty good. We stopped in here for lunch since it was conveniently located to where we were staying. The food was basic sandwich shop food. They have burgers, sandwiches, fries, hot dogs, etc. We weren't looking for anything fancy. They did offer fried okra instead of fries. I got a grilled cheese with a side of fried okra. It was decent. We were all satisfied with our food. The place looks clean. The employees were nice. They brought our food to our table after we ordered at the counter. The prices were fair.

soggy skimpy Steak and cheese sub

We ordered the steak and cheese subs and also cheese fries. The subs hardly had any meat in the tiny sub roll and they were both very soggy and flavorless. The cheese fries were super mushy and just plain gross. We arrived to pick up our order at the counter and the help was chatting among themselves and ignoring us waiting at the pick up counter. I had to speak very loudly 2 times to get some ones attention to hand me the order sitting behind them. So disappointed and will never purchase from this business again.

    Flounder platter

We went here for take-out due to the good reviews and it being local and we want to support local businesses. We were not impressed. The flounder sandwich combo was big, with lettuce and tomato and a side of fries. Hubby was never asked what he wanted to drink and was not told a drink came with the combo. The menu doesn't say. He assumed it came with what the platter had included. It doesn't. The platter had tasty coleslaw and and two large pieces of flounder. One piece was black due to the skin being on it. The sandwich also had black skin. Not appetizing and nothing we have ever had before with breaded fish. We peeled it off. Maybe some people like that, but we found it unusual and not tasty. We had hoped to get the deviled crabs but they were out. Sadly, I don't think we will be returning when there are other local places to try for seafood.

The food here is phenomenal. The quality and taste goes beyond anyone can imagine. Especially being close to the ocean, the food is outstandingly fresh and to the utmost highest quality. The staff is professional and friendly. They will explain the menu to you and offer you suggestions even though the menu is well put together and self-explanatory.

It's probably not where you want to go if you're on a strict diet, but they have the best burgers in Holden Beach.

First, we were skipped in line for ordering and when we got to the window we were questioned as to why we hadn't ordered - as if we chose not to order. Second, we tried to order dirty sodas. The servers looked confused when we asked for it, but when we clarified what we were asking for (and showed the advertisement flyer) the server nodded and rang us up for three dirty sodas. However, after a few minutes we were handed clear drinks which weren't anything close to a dirty soda (that comes with cola, in case someone reading this doesn't know what that is). When trying to tell them the drinks we received weren't what we were looking for, several workers argued with us. More than likely it is just a franchise difference, with different menus for different stands. I explained that I had had one at a 7brew in Virginia just two days prior - but instead of just explaining this, the workers said we were "victims of AI" and that no 7brew sells them. I understand not selling a certain item, but there was no need to argue or be rude. The drinks we DID get weren't very good, but that is probably just a personal dislike and the fact it wasn't what I was looking for rather than the actual drink being bad. The incorrect drinks would've been just fine if it weren't for the sour taste the terrible customer service left behind.

Our last visit was decent, so we decided to give it another shot. However, tonight's experience was a complete disaster. We were seated promptly, but our server seemed annoyed that he had to wait on us and rushed us through the ordering process. He was rude and abrasive. We ordered flounder, and it was a complete disappointment. It arrived barely warm, tough, and dry. The most disheartening part was that most of it was nothing more than fried skin with little to no fish inside. We considered asking for a replacement, but our waiter never returned to our table again until he brought the check. He simply laid it on our table and said, "Pay up front." When I went to pay, the person behind the counter, who I assume was one of the owners, was lounging in his chair with his feet up, engrossed in his cell phone. He took the bill, rang it up, and said, "Tap or insert." Then he went back to his personal call. I understand that it's a family-owned restaurant, and the owners can do whatever they want. However, with the start of tourist season, they don't have to provide any customer service or care about the quality of their food. They'll still make a killing. While I know I won't be missed, I don't think I'll be returning anytime soon. There are too many other options available. See the photo for a visual representation of the poor quality of the food. It's definitely not worth $56 for two flounder fish specials.
