Food was good, but completely overshadowed by the poor service and a cleanliness issue. We had 3 waitstaff during a lunch. Not many patrons there. Waitstaff was very uninterested in taking order, bringing it to table, drink refill, clearing off plates or taking a desert order. As we were about to leave, my wife removed the spoon from her glass of tea and found a mystery glob in the spoon. Being sort of reddish we suspect it was old catsup. My hubby and I moved here from CA, and oh what an amazing feeling to receive absolutely spot on customer service. And honestly, I felt that the team here wasn't their happy, relaxed, "come and sit with me" self because it was work. It was just who they are and I love it! The menu had items sure to please anyone. We ended up having a sampler plate for appetizer, salad, fried oyster and fish combo (me!), and hubby had...honestly can't remember but it was so good! Both the batter and the fish were seasoned, and the crunch! The crunch! To drink, I had the margarita flight. Yes, you heard me right, a margaritas flight!! A quaint small seafood restaurant in a gulf coastal town. A few vacationers and fishermen as well as locals who have lived on the Texas coast for much of their lives and who have a discerning palette for seafood. You can tell the truth of this statement by the quantity and freshness of seafood served at this restaurant. The shrimp and oysters were large and fresh as well as delicious. We shared an appetizer of calamari that was fresh and fried perfectly delicious! I could eat these as my main dish. The tartar was acceptable but the red sauce was very tasty. I had the oyster basket with fries and a house salad. The oysters were fresh and plump salty goodness as they should be eaten. The fries cooked perfectly with an excellent flavor but the salad was very fresh with good ingredients and a fine quality of ranch dressing. The fried shrimp basket was of excellent value and quality. Fresh and deliciously flavorful. We loved it so much we came back the next day and I had blackened catfish with a baked potato and that fresh salad! Very nice but not quite as good as the fried oysters and shrimp. We love Blackbeards so we gave this place a try. The one in Ingleside is easier to get to, not as much construction. My wife loved her popcorn shrimp n fries basket. She loved the side salad too, honey mustard dressing on the side. She enjoyed a cup of the pirate stew which had sausage, chicken, crab, and shrimp with pico in a tortilla soup....this item was good....3 stars, I tried it and agree. I thoroughly enjoyed a chicken fried steak wit' really good cream gravy, the two sides I picked were cole slaw and grilled zucchini, everything was 5 stars except for the pirate stew.....we'll be back for more goodies. read more

Had spent the day at the beach and wanted something filling and close to the hotel. Blackbeard's Too poped up on our search for restaurants close to us. Less than a mile... We were staying at the SLEEP hotel. When we saw it was related to the Blackbeard in Corpus Christi, we figured we would try it since we wanted to try Blackbeard's on our last trip to Corpus Christi but couldn't since of COVID restrictions in 2021. Not sure how the original Blackbeard's is but Blackbeard's Too was exactly what we were looking for. It's a small place but it's big in atmospheric. There was live music playing when we got there on a Saturday evening. The place was full but we were able to sit down right away. Started with Margaritas and they were big but could be a tad stronger.... Refreshing though. Our server was very nice and informative. I ordered the Diablo Pasta with Shrimp and it had an unexpected kick! Delicious, spicy, shrimp fresh and juicy and the sauce wasn't too heavy. My husband ordered the Baja Blackened Fish Tacos with a side of fried shrimp. The fried shrimp were excellent... Not too heavy, good size and crispy. The only downside was that they brought him the wrong tacos... They brought him shrimp instead of fish. Our server apologize and reorder his order but he must have done it right after a big table had ordered because it took a good 20 minutes to get his tacos. The server was very apologetic and offer us a free slice of cheesecake, we declined but he insisted.... Glad he did because it was really good. The correct Baja Tacos were pretty good but honestly the best thing on his platter were the beans... Damn they were tasty!! Overall it was a really great way to end an already wonderful day at the beach. If we find ourselves staying in Ingleside again... We will be back. read more

Our Server, Montell, was such a delight, not only extremely attentive, well-mannered, but had the most engaging personality, joking around with him sure added to our experience! The seasoning is delicious and can be personalized. They can grill, blacken, poach, bake, or fry just about everything on the menu. Mediocre portion sizes at best. Service is descent. Staff is experienced and comfortable with their position. Cleanliness and decor is in keeping with a dive bar for pirates. Good for families, travelers (but not a touristy place), plant workers lunches, mom and pop dinners, etc. just not going to impress a date. A small quaint seafood restaurant right in the heart of old downtown Ingleside. It is Saturday night and they have live music, an old gentleman with a guitar that has a mellow deep voice and singing softly, old style music that is in the background but not too loud, you can still have a conversation. This is where the locals eat, so you know it is good. And by the way it is very good! The service is not the greatest but the atmosphere, the building and the food are all five star. There is a mixture of seafood, Mexican food, and American such as hamburgers and sandwiches. Normally I do not come to restaurants that mix food and don't focus on one style or another. But this place came highly recommended and for a good reason. I only had the seafood, my wife had seafood and so did our friend. So I can't attest to the Mexican food or the hamburgers but I didn't come to corpus to eat those other foods. I got what I came for and it was good. For sides I had French fries that were actually not just french fries they were good, the grilled zucchini was really good, my wife had the mixed vegetables and she enjoyed them as well. My wife got the blackened shrimp which I thought was pretty decent but I am a fan of fried seafood so I enjoyed mine much more. My friend who took us here said that her husband and her have been coming here many times and has never been disappointed with anything that they have gotten.
