Service was superb! The setting is very nice and scenic. Our server even took our pictures for us! The food was absolutely delicious and very flavorful! We shared a boil and it was perfect! The bubble pods were awesome and semi private. They have Heat for the cold weather and A/C during the warmer days. It was a great experience that I recommend you try!

Amazing climate controlled pod with sea view. They installed speakers you can connect too. Service is great and was very accommodating with my two year old. Best for last, THE BEST CHICKEN SANDWICH EVER! We came here twice in our 5 day vacation.

    Wait was about an hour

We loved it! We went a while back. The wait was long but there was a colorful pier for us to wait on, not really kid or elderly friendly on the pier however. No rails. The seafood boil was good, interesting they put an egg in it, as well as appetizers ordered. A must try experience with the bubble dining and cool atmosphere. Beer is expensive though, all other prices are reasonable.

    Appetizer Sampler $33

I'm gonna guess they are short staffed, but I don't know for sure. First off, the drinks are ALL bottled or cans. The oysters on the sampler were not good at all. They did not taste like oysters. I got 1 & 1/2 lbs of shrimp with garlic butter and there was no garlic or butter whatsoever. The liquid in the bag was water with some kind of weird seasonings in it. The food is prepared in a food truck parked outside. While we were waiting, music was blaring , so your conversations were hard to hear, and Looney Tunes on the tv. It would've been nice if there was some kind of Caribbean type music that makes you feel like you're on the water, not a dance club music. This place has potential but really needs some major improvements.

Eating in a little Dome is a very cool idea however this place I don't think thought it completely through with only having eight available and being very popular right now the wait for 4 people was an hour and 30 minutes on a Thursday while it is nice to be able to walk out on the pier and just relax seems like a very long time for a non busy day for them. they say the weekend is the busiest I couldn't imagine being there on a weekend. The servers are friendly the domes are air conditioned kind of a little too much being such a little space the AC unit was set at 69 and was very cold. the food was not very tasty it was spicy but no flavor. I got the Cajun House sauce did the A3 combo which had crab legs sausage corn potatoes shrimp and I added on a lobster tail. Not sure if this is something that's regular in Texas but crab legs and lobster tail were (dirty) as I like to say. from colorado and the meat is white not brownish. The flavor just isn't there

Nestled on a pier between the Lighthouse Pointe lighthouse and Nueces Bay Causeway, Aquabite Market & Kitchen offers a unique dining experience on North Beach. It's worth the drive through Harbor Bridge construction to enjoy this quirky spot, part bait shop, part food truck, with clear plastic "bubbles" for outdoor dining. Ambiance & Wait Our group of four arrived on a busy Friday night and found the setup intriguing, though a bit chaotic. This was still very much still a fishing gear shop as lures and gear were on the walls for sale. The cashier, while overwhelmed, efficiently put us on the waitlist, estimating an hour wait for a table. To pass the time, we chatted with each other, standing up, and enjoyed the buy-one-get-one-free beers--what a deal! Food Once seated, we ordered two appetizers: the Fried Calamari ($11.95) and Lobster Tots ($26.95). The calamari, served over fries by mistake, was tasty, but the portion seemed small compared to the box size. The lobster tots were disappointing--more iceberg lettuce filler than lobster, and served beside rather than over the tots. For entrees, we ordered: Lobster Roll w/ Cajun Fries ($26.95) 1-lb Head-Off Shrimp w/ Lemon Pepper Butter ($20.95) 2-lb Head-Off Shrimp w/ Spicy Garlic Butter ($41.90) 1-lb King Crab Leg ($67.95) The shrimp and crab were well-cooked, and portions for the shrimp were generous. However, the lobster roll didn't quite live up to the photo on the menu. Service The staff hustled but lacked organization. Simple touches like offering paper plates with appetizers, promptly providing a bucket for shrimp shells, or explaining that waters were bottled (99 cents each) would have enhanced the experience. The call-button for service was helpful, but we only learned about it after waiting for a check. Final Thoughts The food was tasty, and the venue is unique, but small operational tweaks could improve the experience. Despite these minor issues, I'll be back to see how they grow--and for another round of those buy-one-get-one beers!

This was what the leftover was. Yes I ate the fish I'm not gonna waste it. But just a note to ourselves we will not be back here.

This is definitely a place for the "sit in a bubble experience " Is it enough to say we would come back. NOPE! The calamari was the best thing we ordered. Got the fish and shrimp combo paid extra for what seemed like McDonald's fried with some seasoning sprinkled on them. The shrimp was basic but I don't care for cornmeal breading, and the 1 fish filet that was on the combo was gross! It was fried but the fish was still wet in the middle. So I would say save it money and go to a legit fish place. I mean we are surrounded by way better spots to eat while here at the coast.

Awesome concept. Pods have A/C. Food was good. Definitely would go back. Enjoyed the crab and shrimp

Dungeons crab, Lobster, Shrimp all served with corn and potatoes. AMAZING!
    Michelle T.

I tried this place this weekend and was blown away. We chose to have a live crab, live lobster, shrimp, calamari and hush puppies. Everything was AMAZING! The prices were NOT high as other reviews have stated; and while all the beverages were bottled, they had what we wanted. The place is very busy but the wait is not terrible when you grab a drink and sit on the pier. The service was great and quick. Sitting in an air conditioned bubble on the water was a great experience. I highly recommend visiting this place.

I was a little worried because it doesn't seem to be located in a great part of town. I also wasn't expecting it to be a Mexican Seafood Restaurant. The place is super clean inside, albeit undecorated and cheap. And there's a funky smell of cleaning solution when you walk in. But this was about the only negative that I have to say. We were able to seat ourselves anywhere we wanted. The menu was extensive with choices for about every taste. All the options were in both Spanish and English. Service was prompt and friendly. My coworker and I had a hard time deciding what we wanted to eat. She eventually settled on the garlic grilled shrimp and I asked for the Shrimp Diablo. Luckily the server warned me it was super spicy, so I ended up also ordering the garlic shrimp. Right after, the server dropped off a small sample of the diablo sauce for me to try and she wasn't joking! It was a slow burn, but extremely hot and long lasting! Glad I went with something else. The food cake promptly and the plate was HUGE! We got fresh, homemade guacamole, Spanish rice, lettuce with tomatoes, French fries, and shrimp and grilled onions. All for $10!!!! And the shrimp was delicious! There were 12 large shrimp that tasted super fresh, grilled onions, and chinks of fresh garlic. She also brought buttered pieces of toast for the side. This was in addition to the chips and salsa brought early on. Dinner was delicious and I'm stuffed!

I went in not knowing what to think as there were so many mixed reviews, I went with my S/O and myself came out with a mixed review. Here it is. First entering Pier 99 it is a very typical feel for a coastal seafood joint, there are plenty of humorous signs along the walls and indoor and outdoor seating options. We were sat promptly as it was a Tuesday afternoon and not a prime time. After looking at the menu we decided we would stick with appetizers and drinks, we started off with the seafood queso and the strawberry Daquiri. Our queso came out promptly within 5 minutes, was very flavorful and was easily the best part of our dining experience. Our Daquiri however did not come for 15+ minutes and we had to ask our waitress a second time for them. She had brought them out promptly after making the second request however upon getting them and trying, they were nothing notable. They did not have much of a strawberry flavor to them and though it was very nice on a hot day to have a cold drink they did not carry what I had high hopes in for a Daquiri. For the rest of our order we decided to try the hot wings (buffalo tossed) and the Fried Calamari. Both came out promptly and were about what we were expecting based off of the reviews. The hot wings were very flavorful and had a good buffalo coating and paired nicely with the ranch provided, the texture however was not there. The wings were not nearly crispy enough and could have used a couple more minutes frying. The calamari was average as well, the lemon brought it up some however the marinara was in a little to go cup and was chunky and difficult to manage with some of the calamari. The texture was good on the batter however the squid itself had inconsistencies as some pieces were crispy and others chewy. At the end of the day if you wish to stop in for a snack and drink after a day of touring the area this is a good spot to do so, however for a meal I would prefer to go a little ways further for something I enjoy more.

We were seated in a cramped area with little A/C, right next to the kitchen. To-go orders were being prioritized while we still hadn't received our meals. When our appetizers arrived, they were cold, and the shrimp in the main dishes was cold to the touch. At that point, we canceled our orders because no one wanted to risk getting sick. What made the experience even more disappointing was that the managers were nearby doing paperwork and never once checked on our table, despite us being there for over an hour. We had family travel in for my husband's graduation, and unfortunately we wasted so much valuable time at this restaurant. Very disappointing experience.
