This was our first time at Aquabite and with mixed reviews we weren't quite sure what to expect. There was plenty of parking. Our server was attentive and friendly. Only alcoholic drinks available are cans/bottles. We ordered the baked mussels for an appetizer which were cheesy and very tasty. My husband got a lobster tail and snow crab boil with garlic butter sauce, and I got Dungeness crab boil with garlic butter sauce. The food was served pretty quickly. We both thought our meals were delicious and tender. The sauce was mouth-watering. It came with corn and potatoes. The bubbles are kind of a cool and unique way to eat. It was foggy out so visibility wasn't great, but it was still awesome to experience. We will be back! read more

We loved it! We went a while back. The wait was long but there was a colorful pier for us to wait on, not really kid or elderly friendly on the pier however. No rails. The seafood boil was good, interesting they put an egg in it, as well as appetizers ordered. A must try experience with the bubble dining and cool atmosphere. The shrimp is always so fresh! The service was amazing and quick! I would most definitely recommend to all of the people I know.

I'm gonna guess they are short staffed, but I don't know for sure. First off, the drinks are ALL bottled or cans. The oysters on the sampler were not good at all. They did not taste like oysters. I got 1 & 1/2 lbs of shrimp with garlic butter and there was no garlic or butter whatsoever. The liquid in the bag was water with some kind of weird seasonings in it. The food is prepared in a food truck parked outside. While we were waiting, music was blaring , so your conversations were hard to hear, and Looney Tunes on the tv. It would've been nice if there was some kind of Caribbean type music that makes you feel like you're on the water, not a dance club music. Eating in a little Dome is a very cool idea however this place I don't think thought it completely through with only having eight available and being very popular right now the wait for 4 people was an hour and 30 minutes on a Thursday while it is nice to be able to walk out on the pier and just relax seems like a very long time for a non busy day for them. they say the weekend is the busiest I couldn't imagine being there on a weekend. The servers are friendly the domes are air conditioned kind of a little too much being such a little space the AC unit was set at 69 and was very cold. the food was not very tasty it was spicy but no flavor. I got the Cajun House sauce did the A3 combo which had crab legs sausage corn potatoes shrimp and I added on a lobster tail. Not sure if this is something that's regular in Texas but crab legs and lobster tail were (dirty) as I like to say. from colorado and the meat is white not brownish. Ambiance & Wait Our group of four arrived on a busy Friday night and found the setup intriguing, though a bit chaotic. This was still very much still a fishing gear shop as lures and gear were on the walls for sale. The cashier, while overwhelmed, efficiently put us on the waitlist, estimating an hour wait for a table. To pass the time, we chatted with each other, standing up, and enjoyed the buy-one-get-one-free beers--what a deal! Food Once seated, we ordered two appetizers: the Fried Calamari ($11.95) and Lobster Tots ($26.95). The calamari, served over fries by mistake, was tasty, but the portion seemed small compared to the box size. The lobster tots were disappointing--more iceberg lettuce filler than lobster, and served beside rather than over the tots. This is definitely a place for the "sit in a bubble experience " Is it enough to say we would come back. NOPE! The calamari was the best thing we ordered. Got the fish and shrimp combo paid extra for what seemed like McDonald's fried with some seasoning sprinkled on them. The shrimp was basic but I don't care for cornmeal breading, and the 1 fish filet that was on the combo was gross! It was fried but the fish was still wet in the middle. The best part about aquabite is definitely that atmosphere. Sitting in one of the bubbles is a cool experience, especially since they have AC, making it comfortable even during the dinner rush. We got lucky and got a bubble, but if you arrive too late, you'll end up at a picnic table on the deck. As for the food, it was pretty underwhelming. We tried the crab boil with clams, but the crab meat was tough and not great. The fish and shrimp basket was just OK not bad but nothing special. We didnt even get to eat because the staff completely ignored us! When walking up to door, it was completely swung open in our face without an apology, someone just ran inside. When we went followed, they asked us for how many when we said "for three please!", they replied "okay one second..." mumbled something and ran to the back before i could ask her to clarify. The food was edible but definitely not our standard. The butter was a yellow paste that had no flavor. My spicy shrimp had something sweet in the seasoning and I could taste it. Was not good at all. The lobster tots that was $27 was imitation lobster. The picture of them did not match what was brought out to us. Basically lobster with raw onions, bell peppers, and whatever else on a bed of lettuce. The gumbo was decent and had okra in it which was different from what is offered around here. I didn't get a picture or my sons chicken strips but they are definitely just Tyson's chicken strips. Not fresh made. The domes are cute. We visited this restaurant on March 14th while coming in from out of town because we had heard good things about the view and wanted to try something new. Unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing. To start, the wait to get seated was much longer than expected. Once we were finally seated, the service did not improve. Our table was barely checked on--maybe once the entire time we were there--which made it difficult to ask for anything we needed. Yes, there was a call button, but when your hands are greasy and you're trying to eat, it's a little complicated because you don't want to make a mess pressing it. Although the food did come out fairly quickly, the quality was very poor. The dishes were not good at all and definitely did not match the price we paid. The portions were also surprisingly small considering how expensive everything was. To make matters worse, we weren't the only ones having a bad experience. Another table near us was also complaining about the long wait and poor service, which made it clear that the issues we experienced were not just a one-time problem. The one positive thing I can say is that the view is nice. However, a good view alone does not make up for long waits, poor service, and disappointing food. Overall, the experience felt very overpriced for what we received. We came from out of town specifically to try this restaurant, and unfortunately it did not live up to expectations. I am local in Ingleside and had been watching this restaurant for months and really wanting to try. Especially the lobster roll. So I ordered the lobster roll. Came with "cajun fries". We came to Aquabite Market & Kitchen to experience the bubble effect. We were seated in the a/c bubble with green lighting. We had a view of the bay and of a bird that is known to perch on a bollard. The Nueces bay view was calming. Brianna-our server- was prompt, professional and knowledgeable. She tended to us with courtesy and suggested a combination of seasonings. When we received our boils we both were appreciative of her suggestions. Both boil dishes were delicious. With so many seafood options in the area this is a place we would not mind coming back to.
