One of our first sit-down meals with family when we landed back to Jersey, and a night for the memory books for sure. It was a bustling Saturday night and we were lucky to grab an early evening reservation. The restaurant was busy, and it was so fun to see our first spot in Jersey so hoppin' with a live musician and dancing by the tables. To be honest, the service was attentive but the food took a bit longer than expected and at multiple points we thought maybe our table ticket(s) were forgotten. That's my only gripe, but when the food arrived, chefs kiss. My dish was a highlight for sure ~ the Pollo Rollatine came with a plump and juicy chicken breast stuffed with prosciutto, mozzarella, spinach, and artichokes in a creamy Madeira mushroom cream sauce, all on a bed of tortellini and peas. So, so, good and worth the wait :) There is valet parking, and live entertainment. Would def come back when in the area again with reservations. A beautiful night out. read more

Well after my last review 10 years ago I decided to go back, the place itself and the entertainment was fine... I think most of the waiters there are like part time 19 year old kids with no knowledge of food.. Ignored us the entire time because we were not regulars. DO NOT GO THERE if you are not a regular or over 50 years old as you will be ignored. Yes, it's Mother's Day, reservations only, prices are raised for the occasion, why? Cuz they can. The place is crowded and bustling. The tables are close together, a negative. The prices are not relative to what you get. Their house salad is minuscule. I didn't find a veal tender though the fettuccine was excellent. Lovely Italian restaurant specializing in the usual Italian-American fusion of dishes. Held a family celebration here and it was wonderful. Definitely recommend the Frutti di Mare Vincenzo which is simply superb. A wonderful salad medley of octopus, shrimp, scungili (conch), and clams. The lemon and olive oil offset the spices and gave the dish a sense of simple elegance. The pasta, eggplant (melanzana), and chicken piccata were excellent. Extensive wine list. Full bar. La vita e bello! Life is good here! They even went out of their way to provide a special cake (with coffee and tea) for the special occasion. Staff was exemplary! Excellent service, outstanding food, he had vodka Negroni, very good I had a glass of chilled Pinot Grigio, we both enjoyed & shared an appetizer, Frutti di Mare Vincenza, loaded with fresh seafood, seasoned perfectly & oh so delicious. Entree's we went with the specials he chose the Monkfish & Shrimp Francese over angel hair, I chose the grilled Swordfish & Shrimp over perfectly grilled vegetables, dinners came with a house salad and house dressing, sliced seeded Italian bread. Italian food Stable in the Brick / Toms River area for the past 20 years and as we roll into this packed establishment on Friday evening, the live Music of Gerard Esposito really brings in the crowd. Ambiance is good, love dinner music and with 6 of us in the house we are ready to enjoy. Had a drink at the bar and a very friendly staff with excellent pours get us started in the right direction. Sit down and delicious. hot bread was served crispy. Service was spot on, with drinks and wine all evening. Menu diverse with every option covered not to mention multiple specials as well. Wine list limited but actually has some value there is you look hard enough. We were in NO RUSH as its a 2 hour plus dinner music show which we wanted to enjoy. Start off for the table. Mozzarella Carozza which was done just right, marinara on the side. Stuffed Eggplant Rollatini was equally good. Escarole & Beans was average at best a bit bland for me. Stuffed figs with a cream sauce were decent, though I personally don't get the entire FIG THING LOL. Clear winner on the table was a special of NJ Long hot peppers mixed with Vedalia onions mushrooms and fried potatoes. YUM if not a bit spicy. More wine as we are in no rush for dinner which was after a house salad with basic dressing. Truly nothing special here. Entrees: Stuffed Chicken Rollatini with tortellini in a pink demi glaze was really top shelf. Special Pork Ossobuco also very good as was the Salmon and other fish dishes. Skipping Coffee and desert we got out of there after a very enjoyable evening. MAJOR ISSUE was it was absolutely Blazing hot in the place. Two of us also had the Beef Carpaccio and, as usual, the serving size was more than ample and as fresh as can be. Another special appetizer was Burrata with tomatoes and peppers. More than enough to share (1/2 came home for the next day's lunch) the pork chop special was beautiful and juicy. The seafood with clams and mussels on a bed of angel-hair was exquisite . Having tried several new local Italian restaurants in the past several weeks, I always find myself kicking myself in the butt for not just sticking to a known standard Italian American favorite, Villa Vitoria ! Came here for an event. They did a nice job handling the party and making a private space. There seemed to be mixed reviews amongst our table around the food. I personally went with the chicken parm, but was a bit underwhelmed. It was your typical party food but not sure I'd make a trip here to order that. I'm sure they have more options and items to choose from beyond chicken but we were limited to the menu provided. Not sure how child friendly they are here, they had a high chair though. This place is interesting. It was packed for dinner when we came. We had a reservation for 8pm and when we showed up there wasn't a hostess in sight. They did not keep the reservation time and although we made it for 8 we sat closer to 8:30. No real explanation as to why but we had a drink at the bar while we waited. The bar is cool and the pours are hefty so you definitely get your money's worth. They have a live singer on saturday nights and so that is probably why no one gets up. The guy does a good job of entertaining the crowd and playing all the hits. Really enjoyed it. The problem is people come here and get wasted. Don't ask me why but the diners were drunk in here and falling all over people. We loved the music too but didn't get sloppy like others. Not a fan at all. Now for the food. It was below average. I ordered the rigatoni a la vodka. It was not very flavorful. The sauce was runny and didn't have flavor. Very bland. My wife ordered a soup and that may have been worse. The desserts were better. The carrot cake was solid but didn't make up for the average dinner we had. I would not recommend coming. The positives was they have a hefty pour when ordering drinks but the food was lackluster. Family style which came with a combination of roasted peppers, fresh mozzarella, Prosciutto di Parma, fresh tomatoes, olives, Soppresata, and Provolone cheese. Along with a fresh garden salad tossed in basil vinaigrette dressing. For entrée we had a choice of Pollo Francese, Vitello alla Parmigiana, Flounder Florentine, or Penne alla Vodka. I ordered the Flounder Florentine which was stuffed with spinach and top with white wine sauce. It was delicious, it was perfectly cooked and the whole table enjoyed it. I was here once before many years ago at a party but never dined in. It seems a very popular place and they have a regular following. They cater to an older crowd and feature live music; at least on the weekends. We met friends there this evening, got a few drinks, and ordered a couple of appys. We all split some stuffed figs and the escargot. Although the appys were really good my entrée fell way short. I ordered a special that night which was blackened tuna with shrimp and scallops. It sounded good but I thought it was smothered with bruschetta which I didn't feel lended itself to this dish; personal preference I suppose. Don't go for their draft beer selection; too pedestrian. Sorry, this is not authentic Italian cooking. i am Italian-American and I've dined at many excellent Italian restaurants and this isn't one of them. Everything is done with a heavy hand, too much dressing on an otherwise fresh salad, Marinara that tastes too much like tomato paste, Veal Piccata drowning in capers making it very acidic and strong in flavor.
