If you're looking for one of those places where everything just lines up--the weather, the food,…read morethe mood--this is it. Out on the pier at Tiki Bar & Ocean Grill, you've got a front-row seat to the Atlantic, and on a day like today, it doesn't get much better. Blue sky, sun hitting the water just right, and a breeze that reminds you why people have been coming to the coast long before fancy resorts showed up. Food Simple answer: they've got it dialed in. Fresh, well-prepared, and exactly what you want at the beach. No overthinking it--just good coastal food done right. That's how it's supposed to be. Service Friendly, easygoing, and attentive without hovering. The kind of service that makes you feel welcome but doesn't interrupt your view--or your drink. Atmosphere This is where they really win. Sitting out over the water with string lights overhead and waves rolling in? That's hard to beat anywhere. Now, yes--the beach itself has those big metal pipes running through for replenishment. Not exactly postcard material. But here's the truth: once you're up on that pier, looking out over the ocean, it barely matters. The view still does what it's supposed to do--makes you slow down and stay a while. Final Take Great food, solid service, and a view that carries the whole experience. Even with the beach work going on, this place delivers what a coastal spot should: good eats, cold drinks, and a reason to sit a little longer than you planned. If the weather's right, don't overthink it--grab a seat, order something simple, and enjoy it the way folks have been doing for generations.

We learned this location will be torn down on October 3, and a new one built across the street. The food was great! Because of the reviews, I decided to try the ahi tuna nachos. And because I like produce I also got a side of steamed broccoli. Both were delicious! The nachos were huge- I only ate like half before getting full! The broccoli was also delicious and I'm so glad I incorporated it. My husband enjoyed his fish and fries too! The service was good, and I would definitely visit the new location once they're open!

Seems as if their closing time is a suggestion as they had live music and food was till being brought out. There are high top tables, a dining area, and a bar. It's an outdoor venue. Very beachy vibe. Super fun with the live music too. Service was great. Bartender was friendly and quick. The margarita was good, as was the beer. We didn't stay long after our one drink. The music stopped around 9:10pm. Apparently they have music frequently. Our Uber driver told us that this is their last season as a restaurant since they are tearing down the building and making a hotel of some sort.

Not sure about parking as we walked here. It wasn't very busy when we got there, but slowly had people coming in and out. Lots of locals. We started in the High Tides lounge which is upstairs and has indoor and outdoor seating. Super cute decor. Had an Island Escape margarita which was absolutely delicious - no marg mix here! Just fresh squeezed juice and it was great. Also had a Mai Tai that was tasty too. Ordered a BLBT (which is super extra bacon - but also a ton of lettuce and tomato) and a fish sandwich of some sort (something local Carolina). The BLBT didn't come with a side, but you don't need one! It's massive. Served on toasty bread. Delicious, highly recommend. The fish sandwich came with pasta salad. Again, a healthy portion. The menu isn't extensive but you will find some great options on there!!! Bartender was lovely! Shout out to Amy. She was super friendly, helpful, and attentive. After eating, went outside to the tiki bar that was on the actual pier. Ordered more drinks - another marg, an orange crush (it's sweet), and an electric lemonade that was meh. Get the marg!! They even do frozen drinks which are great while sitting on the pier above the beach. Great scenery. Again, service was great. Britta and Haley were our bartenders. You can order the same menu at the tiki bar as you can at the lounge. Super nice to have options to move around. The pier even has picnic tables for larger parties.

"Seafood and sports bar on main road in Carolina Beach"…read more Stopped here with a group of 5 on a Friday night in summer, drawn in by the signs about all-you-can-eat crab legs. We arrived at 6pm, and waited maybe 20 minutes for a table. When asked if we wanted indoor or outdoor, we said either was fine as long as not full-sun (some tables were full-sun). Sadly, we were placed at one of the full-sun tables initially. Luckily, when we fussed a bit, they got us a table inside. The restaurant is quite large, with a truly indoor area as well as mostly covered outdoor ones-- we were fortunate to get a truly indoor one, since it was quite hot. The menu was a bit eclectic-- seafood dishes, sandwiches, chicken, and burgers, and lots of drinks. I opted for the fish tacos, since that was reasonably priced-- something like $12-15. The AYCE crab legs were $59-- no thanks! I added a side-salad and also got a fried pickle appetizer for the table. It was a Friday night and busy, but I will say service was SLOW and frankly not great. Took us maybe 15 minutes to get asked what we'd like to order. The fried pickles came almost 30 minutes later. And the meal maybe another 15-20 minutes after that. Our server also seemed almost "put off" whenever we asked for anything, too... like basic flatware after our food arrived. He wasn't great with questions either. Though he did check on us a couple of times. Food was pretty good. The fish tacos were tasty, though one person noted that they were rather minimally seasoned and could have been really great with more. The fried dishes were "fine". One thing to note is the portions are HUGE for many dishes-- one of us got the captain's basket or something, and he's a big eater, but this was way more than he could finish. Similarly, one of us who got the chicken tender platter noted it was really, really big. On the one hand, that's good, but on the other, you're also paying the extra price since the prices were also proportionately higher. The fish tacos were a good compromise-- basically the right amount of food for one person and a decent price. The bathroom was not especially clean-- the soap dispenser was broken and on the side, and it looked like the space hadn't been serviced. The doors to the restrooms were also sticky such that they'd sometimes be left propped open. Overall, I'd say this place was OK but definitely could have been better. I liked my food fine, but the service was definitely underwhelming. One exception-- the lady working the bar was very helpful. There are a lot of GREAT restaurants in Carolina Beach, so this one doesn't do great by comparison.

We decided to come here for the first day of college football because it is advertised as a sports bar, and we were excited to spend the day here watching the games. When we arrived, all of the TVs were off and no one seemed to be working on getting them started. The staff initially had no idea what was going on. We eventually found out that it was a cable issue that was out of their control, which is completely understandable. It did however take about 30 minutes for them to find an alternate solution by logging into other apps so we could actually watch the games. Once they figured that out, that issue was resolved, and again, I was completely willing to give them grace for something that was not their fault. Unfortunately, that was just the beginning. Our waitress had very little knowledge of the menu and was unable to answer basic questions about which sauces were which, what came with the salad, substitutions, etc. We ordered two baskets of wings for the table, and when they came out, they were in the wrong sauces. It is completely fine to make a mistake, and that alone would not have bothered me. What was frustrating was that the wings were taken away and then completely forgotten about. We had to ask about them approximately 20 minutes later. As a former server, if I had brought a table the wrong food, I would have at least asked if they wanted to keep it while I had the correct order made. We were starving and absolutely would have kept the wings while waiting for the correct ones. My mom also ordered a salad, which took a very long time to come out despite the restaurant being essentially empty. When it finally arrived, it was missing the pita bread, which was pretty much the only reason she ordered that particular salad. We had to ask for the pita, and even that took a while to come out. Then, when we actually looked at the salad, a significant portion of the lettuce was inedible. As pictured, at least four pieces of the iceberg lettuce still had the core attached (and the missing pita). At this point, it was not one isolated mistake. It was a series of issues with communication, service, and attention to detail throughout the meal. I really do try to give restaurants grace, especially when something is outside of their control, but there was just too much that went wrong during this experience. It is especially unfortunate because we are here on a family vacation and were ready to spend the entire day here watching college football and enjoying ourselves. We came specifically because this place is advertised as a sports bar, and we really wanted to have a good experience. Unfortunately, the experience was incredibly disappointing.

Once seated though things moved pretty fast. Our waiter Noah T was very attentive, answered our questions and we were off and running. We chose a couple of appetizers; a bowl of Chowder (only because of the raves from fellow Yelpers) and the Athenian Bruschetta. Both were very good but my expectant bubble was burst as it wasn't "the best I have had" as many of the Yelpers had described it. The Athenian Bruschetta though was A-amazing. For Entree I had the stuffed Flounder and Norma had Shrimp and Scallop Scampi. Both were very delicious. Atmosphere was nice, a bit crowded, as you would expect where the food is really good. Tables were tight. Hard to navigate with Norma's wheelchair, but we made it through. Large helpings, took tomorrow's lunch back to the hotel. A definite come back to place.

The vibe is fairly casual. Fairly affordable prices. I am a tough critic on seafood because I grew up on the coast eating fresh seafood, so others may have differing opinions. I had high expectations as a result of the reviews. The chowder was the star for me and could be elevated to excellent with a little more seasoning (I added a lot of pepper which was enough to give it a kick and make it exceptionally tasty). The oysters were good. The crab cakes didn't have enough lump crab for my taste -- more cake than crab, if that makes sense. And the hushpuppies were a bit bland. My son enjoyed the mac which came in a large portion. Although we were just there for takeout, the employees were friendly and helpful.
