You can walk straight onto beach next to pier, no steps. The hotel has a access but old wooden steps with grass around it to use. Would be great to make a ramp instead. Parking good on both sides of hotel. Most of rooms have a ocean view balcony. Elevator on ground floor to check in on 2nd floor. A few vending things and nice sitting area. Negative was they opened up a drain into the ocean after it had rained. So it made it hard to walk the beach. I had never seen this at another beach. They dug trenches down into sand. Definitely spoiled the beach vibe.

I was charged a different amount than when I checked out. When I called the hotel, they told me my reservation showed up through Expedia. I called Expedia and they had no record of the reservation. I found my reservation and called that booking number. They couldn't find it either. When I finally (after 15 phone calls) found someone who could speak to me; they told me there were damages to the room after I left. When I called the hotel back they told me there were no damages to that room, even thought they couldn't find my reservation. I'm not sure who is to blame but I am not happy with the entire situation.

There was a Walmart nearby, the boardwalk and boardwalk mall were close, and there were plenty of restaurants within a short distance. The beach access was in a great spot, and the entire area felt very clean and safe. The outside pool area was modern, well maintained, and very inviting. The breakfast advertised in the lobby definitely lived up to expectations. Every morning there was a fresh breakfast along with a fun waffle-making station, which we really enjoyed. The staff throughout the hotel were extremely friendly and welcoming. There was also a restaurant on the main floor with a great atmosphere, and the food was very good. There were only two downsides during our stay. The kids' splash pad -- one of the main reasons we booked this hotel -- was unfortunately out of service the entire time due to needing a new pump. We understood that these things happen. The other issue was that the rugs in the room did not seem very clean. We ended up keeping our shoes on in the room, so it wasn't a huge issue for us personally. Overall, we had a great experience and would definitely book this hotel again

There was also a gentleman working during breakfast on Sunday morning (I didn't catch his name) who was especially helpful and attentive. He had on a red shirt and long hair. Service like that truly makes a difference. That said, there were a couple of downsides. My oceanfront room had a noticeable wet dog smell, which was disappointing. Also, the $25 per night parking fee feels excessive. I've chosen to stay at this property for quick beach trips over the last 10 years, and unfortunately, the parking situation alone will likely keep me from returning. I also want to note that the hotel is currently under renovations (it is the off-season), so that's something to keep in mind when booking. While I'm not disappointed in the staff at all they were amazing the added costs and room issue were enough to make me reconsider staying here again.

The bedroom is on the street side of the building and was not large enough for any bed larger than a queen. The condo was clean and we did not have any major problems. They have two elevators which worked OK when we needed to move up and down. We had heard about two other buildings had broken ones from people renting on the tenth floor.

Look it's not the Hilton but this is the beach y'all :). Rates are great for all things considered. I mean you don't have to drive anywhere the entire time...everything is right there: the pier with great fishing, famous karaoke every day, 2 Bands every night, good food, good people, good times and good memories. Beautiful ocean front views, easy access to the beach, and convenient to restaurants, fishing piers, and family fun! Again, the building is 35 years old, has withstood many hurricanes, and has areas that are a little outdated, however if you find an independent owner, that has upgraded their unit, you'd never know it was that old. ***Recommendation*** Find an independent owner to rent your getaway! Most independent owners have upgraded their units and take pride in their places! Services/Companies that have multiple units are the ones you see & hear of issues with their units! These are the "hustle in and hustle out" units. I own #604, am very picky of who I let rent my "home away from home". We've upgraded to hardwood linoleum floors, fresh paint throughout, new doors, new over/under washer & dryer, upgraded the kitchen and appliances, upgraded bathrooms, a king bed in master, 2 singles in small bedroom, and a fold out couch. Oh man, Garden City Inn! Where to begin on this one, not the worst hotel/inn I've ever been in, but…read morenot the best by any means. Let's dive into the details. This is a solid 3/3.5 hotel; don't expect any frills or extra commodities. You get a clean bed, a working shower, a TV, and a view of the beach. The closest thing to a perk I had was a full fridge instead of a mini one. As the saying goes, "you pay for what you get", this place is cheap for that reason. You don't get any emails regarding check-in/check-out after your initial booking of the hotel. So just an FYI, however, you can call and find that info out. If you care about everything looking pretty or top of the line, then this isn't the inn for you! If you don't care about looks and want the basics, this hotel will get the job done. There were a lot of quirks in my room, to say the least, some of these include: a stink drain that was sticking sideways (It still worked though), Maintenance handy work on the bathroom frame (Hammer dents near the door frame), no hair dryer, no ceiling lights (they have a lamp and one near the door) no charlie bar for the balcony and the ouside frames/chairs needed wipped down from the pollen. I also found it hilarious that there are no photos/paintings/ on the white walls. Just blank, use your imagination, I suppose lol. However, something about the quirks above made it feel oddly more roomy/lived-in? Like you were staying at a college dorm instead of a hotel. The staff was very nice and considerate. I had some trouble with my card reader, and they were very sweet in helping me out. Alongside, when I told staff about the above room quirks, they seemed to jump on the case for fixing the above. Which surprised me, so hopefully, by telling the staff, it will be better for the future.
