It's at the back of the Public Works lot, if you're coming by car just drive right in and past the gas pumps. There are various bins and dumpsters for different categories of stuff, and an employee will tell you what to do with your stuff. Easy peasy experience other than the hiccup with GPS directions.

Having a recycle center that takes many items not accepted in the curbside program is tremendously helpful in reusing these resources rather than sending them to the landfill! All but one Mass. landfill is scheduled to close by 2025, & we already send our trash as far as MI & AL. The recycle center takes a variety of items NOT accepted in the curbside bin including: scrap metal, plastic bags, compact fluorescent bulbs, bulky plastics, non alkaline batteries, items with mercury (thermostats / thermometers) ... https://www.cambridgema.gov/services/recyclingcenter Additional Recycle Options: Staples offers $5-10 reward credit for tech items (computers, printers, phones, & much more) & $2 for ink cartridges. Target also accepts the above items, and offers car seat recycling twice a year w/ incentives. Plastic bags/films are accepted at Star Market, & Whole Foods accepts some plastic bags/films & wine corks. Home Depot & Lowes: Compact fluorescent lights (CFLs), rechargeable batteries, cell phones, plastic bags. Lowes also takes plastic planter pots. Diaper drop off at Wix offices and Centers for Children & Families - bags may be open. Returnable cans/bottles are accepted in many places that sell them, but if you have a lot, E & C in Cambridge is efficient if they are still open.

Highly organized, they arrive when scheduled (or keep you informed of schedule changes), and they take a large variety of electronic waste at little (and sometimes no) cost. Best of all, he's keeping hazardous and non-biodegradable materials out of landfills, and contributing to the recovery/recycling of resources. David organizes waste recycling days at several local office building locations as well.
