For the past year I've been going to an individual nail technician and thought if I stuck with her,…read moreshe'd learn my difficult nails and be able to get my nails to the length I want them; but everytime I went, I'd break a nail or my gel builder overlay would lift before I was ready for another fill. Like I said, my nails are difficult; they start to curve inwards when they grow longer, and they also grow outward and upwards on some of my nails. Pretty much the opposite of what you'd want for your nails. It wasn't until I started coming to Jackie that my nails started growing longer, with no chipping, and no lifting. I've been coming to Jackie for about 3 or 4 months and I'm able to go about 3-3.5 weeks in between my fills. Jackie also has given me great advice on how to keep my nails healthy, and I feel that we've built great rapport with how communicative she is with scheduling my nail appointments, her friendly vibe and the chill atmosphere that the other staff gives off in the salon. I love coming here and plan to take my boyfriend here for his manicures as well.

Despite that, both technicians attempted to perform gel services without our consent. By the time I realized what my technician was doing, she had already thinned my nails with an e-file to prepare for gel. When I questioned it, she responded with an attitude instead of an apology. The quality of the manicure was unacceptable. She painted regular polish over leftover gel instead of removing it properly. The polish was old and applying thick. I pointed that out and she fixed one nail with an attitude. At that point I just wanted to be done and out of there. Two days later before returning to work I had to remove it myself (couldn't drive two hours back to take care of this in person as Lisa stated that's their rules), I discovered gel had been left on one hand, and my nails were left thin, damaged, and breaking. What upset me even more was that my mother, who has dementia, was also being given a gel pedicure she never requested or could reasonably consent to. I looked over just in time before he tried to put mom's feet into the LED heater when I stopped him stating we never asked for the Gel! Again attitude and language I do not speak. The poor service was only made worse by the complete lack of accountability afterward. I was repeatedly promised callbacks (talked and texted with Lisa, talked to Emily) that never happened, given excuses instead of solutions, and ultimately offered a partial refund while the actual issues were ignored. As a solo esthetician myself, I understand that difficult situations happen, but professionalism, honesty, and taking responsibility should never be optional. This was never about $25. It was about integrity. Trying to upsell services clients never requested, damaging someone's nails, and then refusing to take accountability is unacceptable.

I was told that there was an opening around 12 PM. It seems that mornings are the busiest, so if you go I highly suggest calling ahead of time or if you are willing to wait, you can sit or explore the nearby area. This was also my experience the first time. Winnie did my deluxe manicure the second time I was here and I loved it. I thoroughly enjoy the extra add-ons to a manicure such as the massage and paraffin wax. She did a great job at massaging my arm and helping me relax. The paraffin wax they use smells like peaches and it makes the skin on your hands and arms feel soft afterwards. I showed Winnie a reference picture of some nails I found online. She was so dedicated to making sure it came out as close as possible to the reference, that she had assistance from another nail tech to do the flower designs to make sure it came out perfect. I appreciated the dedication to detail and service. The picture is the final result and I ADORE how it came out! I love a simple short nail manicure and this place delivered the result I wanted. I have definitely found my new favorite nail salon in Redlands and will plan to come back again.
