I went in this morning and spent $120 on a new kitchen faucet. Came back this afternoon for two adapters. I had to ask three employees for assistance who told me to wait in the plumbing aisle and they would send somebody over. I waited 14 minutes before I went looking for yet another employee, how disappointing to find four employees just standing around chatting while I wait in plumbing for nobody to ever show up. As I leave, they notice me and then try and offer me help. No thank you. We are done here. You are clearly too busy socializing to help customers. I'll be taking my business elsewhere. I went in needing paint. Alonzo was patient while I picked out my paint and was extremely helpful in getting me 3 different colors.

I really want to support my local businesses, but the prices at ACE make it pretty tough. All I needed was a line refill for my Black and Decker weed whacker. ACE was charging $20 for a package of two. I went on Amazon and got a pack of TWELVE for $16.23 after taxes. I love the staff at ACE, those folks are always really helpful, but I'll gladly stay home and wait a couple of days for delivery if I can pay $1.25 each for a weed whacker string refill instead of $10.00 each. read more

I had a very poor customer service experience in this particular store. I had an item to exchange and a young lady named (Michele) was very rude to me by not answering and trying to help me until her manager showed up. I do not know if it was a racial issue but it was unacceptable. she had me waiting for 15 minutes to call her manager and did not even try to help me. She would not even answer me until her manager came, I don't know that young lady but personally not going to shop at this particular store until she works there. I like all the other staff and I think a good staff needs to have enough experience to at least treat the customer with respect. read more

John spent 5 phone calls helping me pick stove board for my Forrester wood burning system. John was very patient. I would give negative stars if I could. Every time I go to this store I leave pissed off and frustrated. Today was the LAST time. I will go to Reno for my supplies or hope Tractor supply has what I need. Worst customer service I have ever had! I have a strong retail background and would NEVER treat a customer the way I get treated there! I used to get good customer service with one employee and I haven't seen them in a while. I don't know what has happened to a former stellar hardware store but it is poorly staffed, poorly stocked, and in general a shadow of its former self under Billington. No wonder we shop more at other places now. read more

So, My Husband and I go into the store today (11/11/20) This is after calling and see if they had the 50 lb bags of Kid Sand so we could purchase 10 bags and fill areas in the chicken pen and fill a 270lb martial arts punching bag. We get out of the truck, look where they said they would be out front and nothing, we walk inside, select a funnel, see an employee ask about the sand, she had attitude as though we were bugging her, said it was out front, we told her we had spoke to a employee by phone today, thought the name was Eric, (we were wrong about the name) either way said we looked out front, asked to see a manager, Manager comes out, (Joe) says they are out front, we go back out for the third time and YOU GOT IT....NOT THERE...We come back into the store, ask a young man leaning on and in his checkstand, he looks and says, "Oh Yeah those won't be in till Monday" at that point husband asked why the hell they said they were there on the phone before we came into town, and why a manager and another employee said it was out front on a pallet.....We ended up leaving without buying anything, And we will not be back nor tell anyone to shop this store. What happened to gee let me go see for you, or lets go look and see, or how about looking to make sure something is truly in stock before telling a customer on the phone it is. Not to mention having a visual attitude when asked a question. Like I said, we will never walk through those doors again. read more

I don't know what Lassen County would do without this store. They carry just about everything one could need, especially when you're in the middle of an emergency repair.
