Shoyu ramen. Very good if you like that kinda broth.

This is the place in Greenwood Lake you'd take a date on or to celebrate something. It's got a dark and trendy look inside and the drinks are not cheap but they are good. The food is eclectic and I was very surprised that the Asian dishes were pretty authentic. The shoyu ramen soup was good and filled with top ingredients. I'm not a fan of shoyu broth but it was good. 10/10. The soup dumplings were good. A bit on the smallish side but juicy. 9/10. The Korean short rib baos were good but too packed so fell apart. 8/10. My nephew got the burger and he liked it. The waitress was wonderful. The only gripe I have is there is only high top seating. I always feel awkward eating when siting on those haha

    Corner table with dumplings :)

Absolutely unqualified to make the highly ethnic inspired menu. Just not even close.

Super cool little spot. Nice ambiance. Food and drinks were good. A little pricey though. I don't think fried rice should be $24 dollars, but it was delicious.

Wow this place is amazing from beginning to end. Went for lunch today with my wife. The place has a cool laid back vibe. The service is top notch. Now to the food. We had a variety. Korean bbq tacos , poutine and coconut shrimp. Everything was delicious. I mean this when I say it. It was the best coconut shrimp I have ever had in my life. We come up once a year for a long weekend. This will be a guaranteed stop going forward. If you come up ya gotta go.

Special : Ahi Tuna Nachos , Korean Corn Dog, salads etc

Definitely I will. So the warm Dan Dan noodles were good, well spiced, but not overwhelming and noodles themselves were chewy. Sizzling shrimp, first huge jumbo shrimp so very generous on portions, plus cooked just right and bathe completely in the sauce, plenty of diced onions and peppers and mildly spicy over all. Chicken in chili oil was my favorite, I mean a whole cut chicken fit in that container, both white and dark meat, was tender and moist, plus the chili oil was just right spicy level without being assertive. This place I find special considering it's more of authentic Chinese cuisine rather than the typical Americanized version, that alone is a big draw for this place.

Let me get one thing straight. Shan Shan Noodles doesn't care about this review. They don't care if…read moreyou come. Why? Because they are busy AF. They are buzzing. We went for the first time Sunday at like 3pm? Full. Take out orders flying out the door. It's a cute place. Standard strip mall aesthetic. But they do have a window where you can see them hand pulling the noodles. That's right, hand pulling the noodles which is the main attraction. The food is from the North Western part of China near Pakistan so there are some Indian influences like their Cumin lamb and pulled noodles one of their most popular dishes. But I'm getting ahead of myself. With my vegetarian wife who as usual ruins everything by insisting we order vegetarian appetizers. Scallion pancakes were delicious. No pictures because we ate them immediately. Pan fried dumpling. 9 of them. That's a big portion. And it was like 9-10 bucks? They make their own dumpling wrappers, their own dipping sauces. Dumplings were very good. You could really taste the vegetables. Focused on the quality of the ingredients. My wife had the hand pulled noodles in hot oil. Marked spicy it was American spicy. Did not blow your head off. O enjoyed them. They give you a pair of scissors. Because it's one long noodle. Do not use them on your birthday. More on that later. I had the aforementioned cumin lamb and pulled noodles. I liked it but it was overwhelmingly cumin flavored which obviously is the point of cumin lamb. I'm not saying over seasoned I'm just saying it announced itself as this is cumin lamb. Period. We also had bubble tea! How fun is that? My wife had taro which they made with non dairy milk for her. I had pomegranate with exploding bubbles. Never had those before. Also super fun. They did not explode in an American way or even a Chinese way as both countries let's face it are pretty well known for making things explode. No in a pleasant way. Waitress was delightful we had obviously a long conversation about the food and the restaurant. The scissors are for Americans who share their food. In China you would eat the noodles slurp them without cutting them because eating long noodles especially on your birthday is supposed to promote a long life. We did not learn this until after cutting my wife's noodles. It was her birthday. I will miss her but also look forward to meat based appetizers. One door closes and all that. They also own the bakery a few doors down. Very light chiffon style cakes. Not too sweet. Chocolate Oreo cake. I asked if that was very traditional. Oh how we laughed at my hilarious joke.

For this year's Chinese New Year, I decided to take the family there for our New Year dinner, and the food was just as good as I remembered. The place hasn't changed a bit, the decor still looks exactly how I remember it, which brought back memories. Since some of my family and friends don't enjoy the same spice level as I do, we adjusted the heat for dinner, and everything still came out fantastic. We ordered the whole steamed fish, happy fish, green beans, tea smoked duck, pork chop, beef pan fried noodles, and more. Every dish was delicious, and the flavors were spot on. The service was a bit tentative at times, but the quality of the food definitely made up for it. Overall, it was a wonderful meal and a great way to celebrate. I definitely need to come back more often.

It seems that both the pepper steak and chicken with broccoli were in the same sauce (& I've actually found that to be common in this area for some reason) but were tasty overall. The egg roll was quite greasy and the wonton soup was pretty solid with the broth being the star. Oh the white rice was cooked how I expect and wish all Chinese white rice is cooked so that's a plus. Overall a true 3.5 star rating but since halves aren't possible I had to go to 3 because it certainly wasn't a 4.

Will say the dining room is beautiful and spacious. Had to get someone attention to order in, kind of weird but it was fast enough. So when The guy was showing me the menu, was cool of him to make suggestions since first time for me, he did jokingly say the end part of menu is popular since the Americanized Chinese food, I laughed and am like nah am here for the traditional, he give his suggestions in the traditional menu of what's popular, but I settled on beef ribs, white rice, pork dumplings and strawberry boba slush. For the drink, it was very refreshing and just the right amount of sweet, though I wish it had strawberry boba over the tapioca pearls. The pork dumplings were piping hot and very fresh, plenty of filling inside and not greasy. The dipping sauce was tangy and very vinegary forward, definitely a flavor trip. The beef ribs, were so melt in your mouth tender and flavorful, I really like gravy type sauce it was bathed in and really great ladled on the rice. Do wish I had more ribs though, since definitely the part of the meal, plus the plate it comes on, sells the meal. I did really appreciate how kind the people were here and very friendly as well.
