I had a lovely lunch here with a friend of mine. We arrived around 1PM and it was pretty quiet and comfortable in the booth seating. The lunch specials were good deals and the food was pretty good. I ordered assorted hand rolls, which came with a miso soup and ginger dressing salad. My friend had a chicken teriyaki bento box, which included a California roll, egg roll, steamed rice, and orange. The Server and Manager were very pleasant. The Manager told us that just that week (May 2023), a truck crashed into the restaurant, which is why the exterior had plywood awaiting construction repairs. It was fortunate the lunch rush was over at that time, and no one was hurt in the restaurant. The location was easy to access with an abundance of parking. I will be returning. read more

My family has gotten sick every time we've had sushi here. The quality of their fish has drastically decreased in the last year. & They do NOT take proper precautions in the kitchen nor on the sushi bar. Over 50% of the time our order comes out wrong & they often don't want to fix it. The only times proper customer service is given here is when it's to the owner's MANY friends (hence so many good reviews amidst a literally dying establishment due to poor quality, poor management & poor communication among staff. Servers here are great, but their employers are the biggest issue hindering not only their financial success, but also the quality of the customer experience. Do yourself a favor & SKIP this place!! Semi-Sensational Sushi Here's the deal.. Sushi Hana was my first sushi restaurant experience in Colorado. The ambiance is fitting and makes you feel warm and fuzzy in that traditional Japanese sort of way. Granted, I'm not sure if the owners are Japanese themselves but they did a descent job. This place has tons of potential when it comes to their space utilization (front waiting area). They can also start adding small touches and making it a more modern to get that crispy clean feel folks like these days. I'm not sure if grandmas stinky/tacky kitchen will ever make a complete comeback but some diners and cottage like restaurants do fairly well with it.. but I digress! The food is OKAY! They do offer lunch & dinner specials. I must agree that the fish isn't very cool to the touch. A lot of people are very sensitive to that factor and regard it as a freshness issue. All warranted since this isn't one of those fancy-shmancy omakase (google it) places that cost $400+ per person for food alone. Oh, how I wish to experience Urasawa in Beverly Hills. Anyway.. it was, in fact, not the best quality fish around. From the temperature to the texture. It wasn't bad but one may expect more for the price tag. I'd hate to say it but the on site sushi chefs at King Soopers can pump out some fair priced goodies themselves. We did receive great service. Very kind and cordial. What a change! What a let down! The last time I dined here was about 15 years ago. At that time it was exceptional. Tonight's offering was just sad. Watery sauce on the overcooked chicken teriyaki, watered down and tasteless miso soup, and flavorless dressing on the salad....and at an exorbitant price! Based on the reviews and word of mouth from others, people are under the impression that this is the best place to go for sushi in the area. That is so far from the truth that I almost laughed while in the restaurant when I tried the food. This is better than grocery store sushi, but it is almost identical to sushi you can get across the street for 30% less of the price. No joke. This place is absurdly expensive for what you get and the quality. The prices aren't even comparable to the best places in Boulder. $7 for 2 pcs of Salmon Nigiri...that has to be a joke. $5 across the street and $5 in Boulder for the exact same sushi quality. I got a bento box with grilled shrimp, tempura shrimp, and a tuna avocado roll that was $35. Which is insanely overpriced. The shrimp wasn't really all that special, nor was the tempura. The tuna avocado roll is a standard $6 roll with nothing special about it as well. So really 4 grilled shrimp, 2 tempura shrimp and a $6 Tuna roll was $35. I did order some other rolls that were about $5 overpriced for what they were and they were also pretty standard I ended up taking half of them home and just throwing them away from lack of interest. The service is actually pretty good, we had 3 waiters serving us and getting our drinks confused but the food did come fast and we did have drinks refilled quickly at a 6pm setting on the weekend. The inside of the place is also pretty clean and organized and I did enjoy the atmosphere of the place. The tables were spaced pretty well and it wasn't overly loud for a full house. I don't think I will be back however because there just isn't a reason to. The food wasn't anything special and the prices are way too high when I can go across the street and get the exact same Sushi for way less. read more

My wife and I have been eating here for years and this is our go-to sushi restaurant for dinner. Both of our now adult sons had their first sushi experience here when they were young and have grown to be adventurous eaters. Typical visit starts with Real Killer, Wasabi Shumai to share, a green salad and miso soup. The salad is simple with miso dressing and the soup is delicious with bits of seaweed. We've tried so many things on the sushi menu, I can say that we keep moving the target around so we don't get stuck on certain dinners. I can't speak for the cooked dinners. We really don't eat tempura and we dine for the sushi. We've had Beef Negimaki appetizer several times and it was delicious. It is also a dinner entree. The Real Killer are 2 spicy tuna stuffed jalapeños and can be very spicy at times. We really like this place as compared to other inland sushi restaurants we've tried. I can't compare it to any sushi restaurants in Hollywood or SanFran. It's also ridiculously clean and well-maintained. read more

Currently we are sitting here after waiting 45 minutes after we received our food that we didn't like or eat, just to be offered to have our green tea paid for but are being expected to pay for the two rolls we didn't eat, to be met with attitude about not wanting to pay for the food we *didnt eat. I really enjoy sushi, and have eaten at many of the restaurants in Boulder, Longmont, Loveland and Fort Collins. We are fortunate to have several very good places in the area to choose from, and Sushi Hana is my new favorite. Sushi and cleanliness go hand in hand, and Hana scores very high with kitchen, prep and bar surfaces virtually spotless. That was one of the first things I noticed on my first visit two weeks ago, the next thing was the attentive and friendly service. What really won me over was the sushi itself. The quality and quantity [i.e. 'larger than most' pieces of nigiri and sashimi] were both excellent. Salmon and tuna are two of my favorites, each of these came in generously sized pieces with beautiful color, perfect texture, exquisite taste. You can tell when the cuts are carefully selected, for example with the salmon where the chefs here use only the tender, flavorful belly and side cuts - not the chewier tail and collar areas. The rolls were also very good, with the eel and avocado roll standing out with a tasty but not excessively strong or salty finishing sauce which is all too common in many places. Alright, I am getting really hungry now writing this! It's dinner time and I may just have to head over to Sushi Hana to satisfy my craving for salmon, tuna and eel. Delicious! My husband and I came here on a Thursday night, and we were one of the only tables filled in the place. We ordered two sushi rolls (Lion Eye and Green Dragon), some edamame, and their miso soup. The soup is complementary (I think), and it was delicious. The edamame was steamed perfectly, with just the right amount of salt. Our two rolls were very good, although the Green Dragon was our favorite or the two. The owner is super nice and came to talk with us while we waited for our food. They've been having trouble with online ordering coming in swarms and they're unable to control the quantity right now, so weekdays are an excellent time to visit. I found the prices to be very comparable to other places in the area, with our bill being right about $44 for all the food and two sodas. We will definitely be back! read more

Vastly disappointing. I called in before going to confirm that their ramen is authentic. The restaurant atmosphere was decent but the ramen we ordered was overpriced (around $16 each) and actually tasted worse than your typical cup of noodles. The broth tasted like watered down soy sauce with some black pepper sprayed in it. It also comes with grilled flavorless pork, boiled broccoli and carrots. I've been using Yelp to find food for many years, I've never came across something this bad before. I actually made an account just so I can post this review. Do not go here. Overpriced and terrible quality. Please at least remove ramen from your menu. I guess I would say I am a regular here. When I visit Longmont, this is my go to sushi joint. As far as décor goes, it is nothing impressive. I think it used to be a fast food restaurant. So if you are looking for something fancy this is not the place. The sushi and sashimi are always fresh and cold. I know someone posted that the temp was off, but every time I have been there it was on point. They have a wide selection of appetizers and hot entrees as well. As far as prices go, they are a bit steep for what you get. I think they may have trouble finding reliable wait staff. The ones that are there are running around like crazy. This is definitely something they should work on. Other than that, I recommend you give Sushi Hana a go. read more

Do not go here!!! They treat their customers like crap and the sushi isn't very good. We went there on a Friday afternoon around 5pm. It was dead. Only a few people dining at the tables. The sushi bar was empty. We sat at the bar. There were two of us and we sat in the middle. 3 seats to one side and 4 seats to the other side. Tons of tables available. We ordered sushi and drinks. Received both and started eating. The sushi was mediocre. Then the owner came up and ask us to move down while we were in the middle of eating. I looked at him like REALLY? tons of tables available!!! We moved down. Our food and drinks too. Started eating again and then he again asked us to move again!!! I was furious this time around and told him I'd never come back ever!!! Make the damn people wait as i was there first or give them a table because it wasn't even busy!!! I have to raise my rating to 5 stars. I am always satisfied with my meals here... fresh, intricate flavors served beautifully arranged and decent portions! The lady who greets you and takes your order is so polite and gracious, and the man making sushi (the one there most often) is efficient and friendly... especially during COVID as the sushi counter seating doesn't appear to be available. Try their green papaya and mango salad... in some ways similar to Thai green papaya salad with the sweetness of several slices of fresh mango and the tang of rice vinegar and the heat of chili peppers. It has been available every time I've asked for it, but it has seasonal ingredients, so ask first. The miso soup is the best I've had anywhere! The broth is complex, they don't skimp on miso and the seaweed is plentiful. It's a good deal at $5 for small and $10 for large. Very satisfying as a meal in itself. read more
