    Lunch special hand rolls
    Jodi G.

I had a lovely lunch here with a friend of mine. We arrived around 1PM and it was pretty quiet and comfortable in the booth seating. The lunch specials were good deals and the food was pretty good. I ordered assorted hand rolls, which came with a miso soup and ginger dressing salad. My friend had a chicken teriyaki bento box, which included a California roll, egg roll, steamed rice, and orange. The Server and Manager were very pleasant. The Manager told us that just that week (May 2023), a truck crashed into the restaurant, which is why the exterior had plywood awaiting construction repairs. It was fortunate the lunch rush was over at that time, and no one was hurt in the restaurant. The location was easy to access with an abundance of parking. I will be returning.

Rainbow roll 5 stars. Tuna and avocado is my new favorite. Spicy tuna great Philadelphia roll great.

Awesome service, friendly staff, available seating, amazing sushi, reasonably priced. Not a fan of miso but I love theirs. Definitely worth a visit.

How do I love thee? Let me count the ways 1. Freshest most delicious sushi in Colorado 2. Serene and lovely atmosphere with 1 quiet tv in the corner that isn't obtrusive and lovely water features 3. Sooo much king salmon sashimi goodness 4. Delicious hot foods for those that don't like sushi (like their salmon teriyaki) 5. Generous portions 6. Lovely staff Love love love love. It's been 7 years of Sushi Hana, I've picked meals up, been lazy and had it door dashed, and gone in person many, many times. It is always prepared perfectly with care. We love going there, love the staff- it's been the same people this whole time, and absolutely love the food. Extremely high quality, friendly, attentive. Sushi Hana = my heart

Semi-Sensational Sushi Here's the deal.. Sushi Hana was my first sushi restaurant experience in Colorado. The ambiance is fitting and makes you feel warm and fuzzy in that traditional Japanese sort of way. Granted, I'm not sure if the owners are Japanese themselves but they did a descent job. This place has tons of potential when it comes to their space utilization (front waiting area). They can also start adding small touches and making it a more modern to get that crispy clean feel folks like these days. I'm not sure if grandmas stinky/tacky kitchen will ever make a complete comeback but some diners and cottage like restaurants do fairly well with it.. but I digress! The food is OKAY! They do offer lunch & dinner specials. I must agree that the fish isn't very cool to the touch. A lot of people are very sensitive to that factor and regard it as a freshness issue. All warranted since this isn't one of those fancy-shmancy omakase (google it) places that cost $400+ per person for food alone. Oh, how I wish to experience Urasawa in Beverly Hills. Anyway.. it was, in fact, not the best quality fish around. From the temperature to the texture. It wasn't bad but one may expect more for the price tag. I'd hate to say it but the on site sushi chefs at King Soopers can pump out some fair priced goodies themselves. We did receive great service. Very kind and cordial. Not sure if we will ever go back but I just might since I'm a sucker for sushi! Take that as you will...

Based on the reviews and word of mouth from others, people are under the impression that this is the best place to go for sushi in the area. That is so far from the truth that I almost laughed while in the restaurant when I tried the food. This is better than grocery store sushi, but it is almost identical to sushi you can get across the street for 30% less of the price. No joke. This place is absurdly expensive for what you get and the quality. The prices aren't even comparable to the best places in Boulder. $7 for 2 pcs of Salmon Nigiri...that has to be a joke. $5 across the street and $5 in Boulder for the exact same sushi quality. I got a bento box with grilled shrimp, tempura shrimp, and a tuna avocado roll that was $35. Which is insanely overpriced. The shrimp wasn't really all that special, nor was the tempura. The tuna avocado roll is a standard $6 roll with nothing special about it as well. So really 4 grilled shrimp, 2 tempura shrimp and a $6 Tuna roll was $35. I did order some other rolls that were about $5 overpriced for what they were and they were also pretty standard I ended up taking half of them home and just throwing them away from lack of interest. The service is actually pretty good, we had 3 waiters serving us and getting our drinks confused but the food did come fast and we did have drinks refilled quickly at a 6pm setting on the weekend. The inside of the place is also pretty clean and organized and I did enjoy the atmosphere of the place. The tables were spaced pretty well and it wasn't overly loud for a full house. I don't think I will be back however because there just isn't a reason to. The food wasn't anything special and the prices are way too high when I can go across the street and get the exact same Sushi for way less.

The waitress who took us to our table did so with a very bad attitude. She placed the menus on a table located in the middle of the restaurant. Since I was with my one-year-old baby, I thought it would be better to sit at a table at the end of the restaurant so we wouldn't inconvenience people walking by or trying to leave. I politely and respectfully asked if we could move to the empty table at the end. She did not respond to me. Instead, she threw the menus on the table, turned around, and walked away while complaining to other waitresses and giving uncomfortable looks. Of course, I stood up with my family and went to speak to another waitress. I apologized and told her we were going to leave because the situation felt very uncomfortable. I explained why I had asked for the other table, and she responded, "Do you want the table or not?" As someone who works in customer service, I believe employees should be very careful about how they speak and behave in front of customers. My experience at this place today was horrible.

We got the Birdhouse Flight to start--guac, five-cheese queso, and their birdhouse salsa (a tasty, mild tomatillo). Seriously, it's the best way to start your meal. For dinner, we all had ramen. I went for the Hellfire with extra bok choy. This ramen is no joke. If you want something spicy, this is it. The chili sauce, flakes, and oil really bring the heat. The kids got the Tonkotsu, which was amazing as usual--great broth and super tender meat. I had my spicy ramen with a Juicy Bits from WeldWerks, perfect combo. Seriously, it's some of the best ramen and service around North Denver. Whether it's for a special day or just a chilly night. Birdhouse is always good. I totally recommend it!

So it was shocking that I found such a good bowl out here in Erie. I got the Hellfire Ramen, a tonkotsu-based ramen served with their house spicy sauce, chili oil, pork shoulder, and a soft boiled egg. The broth was rich and flavorful, the spice level was perfect (quiet hot but still maintaining a good balance of flavors), and the pork shoulder was tender but still has a bit of nice toothsomeness. Overall, this was an excellent bowl of ramen comparable to any of the top spots in Denver. The only slight downside is that the broth was just a tough too salty for my liking, and I would've preferred a soy marinated egg over a soft boiled egg. They have other ramen here was well, such as a chicken-based shio ramen, a regular tonkotsu, and a Thai curry ramen. I definitely would return to try the other ramen. If the other items on this menu is as tasty, I wouldn't hesitate to give them 5 stars.

So expectations were never high and thought it would be a tourist trap, yet, I wouldn't call Longmont touristy. So one day my wife and I got take out. Honestly, I was surprised. The food was fantastic. I don't remember what we got that time but it was memorable enough that we said we should go there for drinks and dinner. So a few months ago, not really craving anything particular and fresh off a hike but starving we decided to give it a try. Blown away. Food was exceptional. I got the salmon which is basically ordering fancy chicken at a restaurant. It was delicious. And the risotto was absolutely incredible. Service was great. Uh, yes please! They have their own parking lot. We were welcomed in and seated as we had our reservations. The bathrooms were clean and well lit. The bar is located inside the pirate ship! We all came dressed in our tropical attire. The drink menu is fun and our server, Chase was the best! He gave us great recommendations and made the evening fun. We ordered the Pu Pu Platter for the table to share and then my husband and I split an order of the crab cakes. The platter had feta wontons, chicken wings (I'll come back to those), fried calamari, Spam musubi, red curry cheese tots, edamame, mac salad and seaweed salad. The seaweed salad was a new taste for me. I liked the dressing and overall it was tasty. The mac salad was traditional island mac. Good stuff. Edamame is not normally my fav, but this was seasoned well. Red curry cheese tots, yum!! The Spam musubi had a dipping sauce and together that was a tasty snack. The fried calamari, was crispy outside, not greasy and tender inside. Well done! The feta wontons were a fun combo of crispy wonton, cucumber and a creamy feta spread. Now, the chicken wings. They are not on the menu as something you can order on its own. I wish they were, as we would have ordered more! They come with a gochujang-teriyaki glaze topped with sesame seeds and scallion. Absolutely the best thing on the platter! Our crab cakes were made from Pacific Rock crab and accompanied by fresh avocado on a bed of smoked tomato pureé garnished with mango salsa. A perfect bite. I do need to talk about the drinks. My husband had a Zombie, Flor de Caña 4 year Oro rum, Planteray OFTD rum, cinnamon syrup, grapefruit, fassionola, lime and a dash of Leopold Brothers absinthe. He loved it! I asked Chase for a recommendation and he said his fav was the Three Dots and a Dash. I went with that. This drink had Dry Land Distillers aged cane rum, Planteray original dark rum, falernum, allspice dram, honey syrup, fresh lime, orange and Angostura bitters. I sipped and savored that for the evening. What a fun experience. I will definitely be coming back.
