I was also really impressed by the huge variety of options on the menu. I ordered the Mango Tango Roll, and it was absolutely extraordinary! The flavors were amazing, and everything was made to perfection. I also tried the tempura sweet potato cakes, which were delicious and definitely worth trying. And the sauce they come with is to die for!! I enjoyed it so much that I'm ordering from Bowl Izakaya again tonight for my husband and me for our movie date night! Super accommodating and super tasty. First off they run an all you can eat buffet for pretty much their whole menu, for like $32.00 person and have good price on drinks as well (have been here before but not since they implemented this). My family and I went in for my daughter's birthday dinner. I had read about the all you can eat on-line, but was unaware of the rules (more presence/information on-line would help and their website didn't have the menu). They ask that everyone at the table order the all you can eat, my wife however has a shell fish allergy and just wanted a noodle dish. They accommodated that. Next, they also inform you that if you don't finish you will be charged per left over piece and not able to take any home. Well our eyes were bigger than our stomach and we ended up ordering way too much sushi and while we did get charged a fee (less than what we didn't eat) they did let us take home the left overs. My kids and I felt guilty and embarrassed for ordering as food much as we did and the potential thought of it going to waste. They could have strictly adhered to their policy, but they were super accommodating to not to. We've really enjoyed going there over the years and they have lots of good meals/dishes on the menu. The soup dumplings were also delicious, however they so turned stuck together, and then the soup bursted out, but the flavor was great. I had the beef ramen which I loved. I almost never drink the broth of ramens or phos but I drank all of it. The beef was cooked well and fell off the bone, the eggs I also enjoyed, but I wish they were served warm, not cold. The meat is not fresh at all and they use copious amounts of seasonings and sauces to mask the stale taste of the meat. I admit I didn't take as many pictures as usual--I was so hungry I ate most of my food before I thought of it! The food was lovely. No complaints about the food here--it's all delicious. I had several small plates. I had sesame balls, the Kobe beef buns, flying pork bao, and running gold bao. A note on the menu--it's not readily apparent what running gold bao are, but they're like custard buns, sort of, and they are delicious. They're not as savory as you might expect so we had one set for dinner and ordered them again for dessert. I also tried the ramen and the katsu and both were tasty. Service was slow but the restaurant was slammed so I wasn't surprised. They were friendly and all the food was hot and fresh though. My one complaint was the noise. The music was the same high pitched woman covering pop songs and it was very loud. (Not live) As someone who is prone to migraine this was really irritating. When the crowds drained out, we could also hear the volume on the tv near by, so it was irritating music mixed with wrestling. So there's a lot of ambient noise. I didn't have a chance to ask about it because we couldn't get the server's attention until we were about to leave, and then it wasn't worth asking. This restaurant is very new, though, so I'm sure they're still working things out. And the food is fantastic, so I'd definitely come back. read more

I'm so happy Bowl Izakaya is now in Longmont. I've missed having reliable ramen near me. I ordered the takoyaki and Tonkatsu ramen. The takoyaki was very good. It had a nice amount of tasty Bonito flakes and what I assume was Kewpie mayo. The tonkatsu ramen broth was tasty. You choose your spice level (non, mild, medium, spicy). I ordered medium spice level, which was more than tolerable. I think full-on spicy would be delicious, too. I was worried about the egg as photos I saw online in advance showed inconsistent cooks and marinades. While my soft boiled egg's yolk was cooked well, the egg white didn't appear marinated like some others I'd seen. My bowl had three slices of chashu pork belly, which was cooked well. The noodles were ok, but a little overcooked for my preference. I'd like to one day see mushrooms included or available as an add-on. My friend had the garlic chicken ramen with fried chicken. It was her second time ordering this dish, so safe to say she enjoyed it. The takeout order I took home for my partner was a salmon bowl. It was a hearty & healthy bowl. He loved everything about it. It also came with miso soup. I can't wait to try it. Servers were very pleasant and attentive. Water glasses were never empty. They also helped me time a takeout order perfectly. As far as ambiance, it was comfortable. It didn't feel very different from the previous restaurant that was located here. One point, the tank at the entrance looked extremely murky. I'm no aquarium expert, but it didn't look healthy for the fish. As always, my expectations are based on location, so if you are a ramen aficionado or japanese cuisine lover, keep that in mind and be grateful this diverse option is in town. This restaurant has been under my radar since its opening. But the price of eating out always makes me go back to the proven restaurants. I finally had a chance to visit this place. The restaurant was large, and the service was good. Before going to any "Japanese" restaurant, I examine the menu to determine its authenticity. I know localization is important for business, but I want to eat food that I grew up eating! The menu includes rather strange entries. Yakitori (焼き鳥）literally means "grilled chicken." And they are grilled on charcoals. So does the "Shrimp Yakitori" on the menu means "shrimp and chicken"? "Tofu Yakitori"... hmmm... I did not try those. I was not in the mood for ramen. So I got one of the bowls. Bowls are usually very big. But with the price of unagi don at $14, I did not expect the regular bowl size. But it was much much smaller than I had expected. I am 100% sure that they do not cook unagi here like almost all the restaurants in the US (not sure if there is even one in the US). Unagi is available in the US and is already grilled with sauce in a pack. It might be available as shirayaki, but if you serve unagi with the sauce anyway, who would purchase Shirayaki unless the price difference is significant? The plate was so small, with only 4-5 unagi sliced in small squares. Maybe using "don" is not the appropriate word. Miso soup lacks flavor. I understand that this is an izakaya, but the menu is small and lacks many seafood and vegetable tapas dishes. It might just be a ramen shop as many seem to love their ramen dishes. Another concern was that they could not serve regular yellow tail rolls when they had spicy yellow ones. Why?? My experience here was very limited. I have to say that the service was good. Room for improvement... Sushi menu needs more rolls that were not just a variation of 'tempura shrimp' with XYZ. Lots of places do this as it is the "easy way" to have a lot of menu options but that ways is lame and boring. This place could get more creative, and should! read more

Sunday afternoon about a week after they opened and we've heard both but good things. The service was prompt and friendly. Our food came out all really close together and fresh with not much waiting. Great considering we also go a sushi roll. I love the ramen. They have good choices as base and you can add stuff in. I like extra noodles and will provo any order that way next time but the way it comes is great. For a fast service sit down experience the food was all great. Probably the best of its type for Longmont. The inside is clean and open with a full bar area as well as outdoor seating. We had a service animal with us and they offered outdoor seating before they noticed the vest which leads me to believe they are somewhat dog friendly. read more

Me and my bf showed up to our reservation to try this restaurant out since it was our first time and we were not very happy with the service, first of all the lady who checked us out at 7:25pm on April 4th 2026 was really rude. We didn't even have her at first due to the guy being busy helping his kitchen staff and she skipped our table 3-4 times. Asking other tables if they needed water or if they wanted anything else to order but when I was needing water, she ignored us the whole time to where I had to drink out of my bf's cup the whole time, she looked at us when I was trying to call for help and she just walks away, the owner can even watch the cameras. We were never once rude to her and for her to be snappy about asking us if we needed to go boxes when my bf politely said yes she asked again twice saying "boxes or no" then she came back snappy again saying "here" just tossing the to go boxes at the table and at the end when we got our receipt she came back for it, trying to be nice so she can get a tip, which is not how it works, we won't be back here for a while due to the terrible service. We rather drive somewhere else to get better service. I even tried contacting them and I have gotten no response from them from this situation. I'm not sure cause we were the only Mexicans at the time and everyone else was white but the waitress seemed to be racist read more

Today (New Year's) we went to a closer mexican restaurant for lunch, sat there for a while without any service, then had the hostess be rude on the way out. We drove across town to eat here instead, and I'm very happy we did. There was a single waitress seating and serving the entire dining room (at about half capacity), she was polite and attentive, and the food was delicious.
