Solid 5stars for sushi haya. The sashimi was excellent. The peppered tuna was perfectly coated. Salmon was one of the best I've had, for buffet sushi. Snapper was very good too. I ordered the spicy lady roll and dragon roll, both were delicious. The spicy edamame was very good. We ordered other various items for appetizers. And they were all very good. Service was top notch. Our server, was helpful and very attentive. Got our refills ontime and he was proactive in following up with us. The decor n ambiance was very cute. The lighting was just right. We came to this sushi restaurant today expecting a decent dining experience. The environment was okay, but unfortunately the food quality was disappointing. The sashimi did not seem very fresh, and you could tell from both the texture and taste. We politely asked if they could check it or replace it, but they did not seem very willing to help. The sushi itself was also hard and dry, almost like it had been sitting out for a long time, and the fillings did not taste fresh either. Overall, the whole meal felt uncomfortable to eat. The service and ambiance is really enjoyable. Wait staff comes over frequently if you get the all you can eat for $30 bucks I think. It is thinly sliced beef that is served cold, kept rare/raw on the inside, and has a citrusy taste. There was a spicy kick, too. :D - Steak Hibachi: (1/5) super bland, even with the sauce they provided. My friend ordered it medium rare, but it was still extremely chewy. - I forgot which rolls I ordered... but I chose 3, and I'd give each of them a (4/5)! Tasty, but a bit rice-heavy. But of course, that is the nature of maki rolls in general. - 2 pcs of Scallop, (3.5/5), overall fine, but I prefer how it's prepared at other sushi establishments. Went for dinner on a Friday night to try something different than our usual hibachi place. Not a horrible mistake, but was not worth it. Left disappointed.. The sushi was pretty good, but it was smaller than I thought it would be. The mexican roll was yummy, but the second roll (forgot the name) was ehh. I ordered the tempura chicken and I did not expect it to be pretty much chicken fries with fried veggies. It did not taste like anything but oil. I told the waiter I did not expect it to be like that but he just asked what else I wanted to add to my order. They also forgot my steamed rice, but I didn't bother asking for it because I didn't eat my main course. The place was packed so obviously people like it, but I would much rather stick to my usual... This is my favorite sushi Haya location. I have to say that the salmon sashimi is definitely the best that I have had in the Cypress area especially for an AYCE. The shrimp tempura is fine but the vegetable tempura is soo good! I did have to ask for plates and chopsticks after my friends fell down but the service overall was very attentive given that we came in at a very busy time on a Friday night. We tried lots of hand rolls but the highlight of the evening was the salmon sashimi. The only thing I didn't really care much for was the green tea ice cream. I have tried another one of their locations so decided to give this one a try since we were close by. The restaurant has beautiful decor and a very nice seating area outside. While we were greeted by soem friendly staff as we walked in and were seated, our server was hard to find at times. The restaurant was not busy when we came in, maybe 4 or 5 other tables most of which had other servers. The food was overall enjoyable but there is a difference between this location and another in the area. I've come here about 4-5 times now. I really love this place. I'm not a salmon lover (husband is) but he loves it here. my personal favorite is the pepper tuna. It's how I judge every AYCE place. Theirs's is pretty good. Their nigiri has the perfect rice to fish ratio. While the depth of menu items is somewhat limited, the variety is pretty good, from appetizers, ramen, hibachi, rolls, desserts, and more. Quality is there for sure. I like how everything is portioned so I'm not having to waste food and can truly sample a lot of items. Also, if you shop at the Krogers nearby they'll have coupons on the back of the receipts, making the prices very reasonable. read more

You will get a full size sushi! The staff does a great job of informing you of this when taking your order. They do have a rule where you get charged for leftovers this is also in big letters on the menu. My family & I tried as much as we could because everything was so tasty and there were some items we would re order because of how good they were - specifically the appetizers or sides. The sushi we ordered only two as they were big and very filling. We ordered several sides & appetizers to go along with the sushi. This location in Tomball is fairly new, very clean, spacious indoors, and good quality items, pricing is above $30 per person for the all you can eat but it is worth it given the portions of food you get! There was hair in my hamachi chili and there was a 1-inch bone that I pulled out of my mouth from the salmon sashimi. Huge no no in the sushi world. They did not apologize and at the end said they'll only knock 10% off my bill. Not worth it! I will never eat here again. I like this place, food and all, the only thing I feel like should be better is having a bartender, STAY AT THE BAR.. I usually don't sit at regular tables or booths, because I'm more comfortable sitting at high tops. Each time I come in, the person behind the bar can't take my order and is waiting for someone else, that's looks slightly overwhelmed, while the bartender is just chillin. Fantastic experience at Sushi Haya this weekend! Our party had a few adults and several children and this was a hit for all! When you arrive, there is plenty of parking in this shared lot. You can't miss the restaurant - it has a cute patio for outdoor seating and is decorated with lanterns and cherry blossoms. When you go inside, it is a decently sized restaurant with plenty of room and seating. We arrived around 1:30PM on a Saturday and there was a decent crowd for this later lunch time and people were still arriving up until 3:30 or so when we left. We had so much good food. We especially loved the baby octopus, fried calamari, and our sushi rolls. My personal favorites was the crunchy roll. The new surf and turf roll was good, but spicier than I expected so be warned that it has spice. The all-you-can-eat even included dessert and we all enjoyed either ice cream, friend ice cream, or friend oreos. I decided to order and get the all-you-can-eat menu. There is a lot to choose from and can be overwhelming. The waiter was very kind and suggested items off the all you can eat menu. They have a robot server and will use it upon request if they are not busy. On the all-you-can-eat menu it does mention that they charge an additional fee if you do not finish what you order, but I didn't encounter that. Would definitely eat here again. read more

One of my fave restaurants in the (Vintage Park/Tomball/Willowbrook) area. I prefer this newer Houston location (249/Louetta) over its Spring (2920/Kuykendahl) counterpart. It is cozy, welcoming, and authentic; casual enough for an unassuming lunch yet still quaint enough to enjoy a dinner date. The food & service are great.
