After a wonkacious work week, a little food and drink goes a long way. 88 is beyond my usual hauntings, but very much worth the drive. It's a combo Korean bbq and sushi joint, I ate so much of both. Quality cuts from the smoke garlic pork belly to the wagyu with a selection of tasty rolls for a tolerable $38.99. Servers were so friendly and whether it was water or alcohol, my cup was never empty. I knew this was about to be a good time when Yu-Gi-Oh! was on the main TV, and it was exactly that.

88 Korean BBQ & Sushi is the spot! Very modernized and aesthetic establishment. The service is great, speedy, and attentive. My friends and I had the KBBQ dinner, and were absolutely in love with the quality of the food. Absolutely delicious and you definitely get your moneys worth with the portions and variety provided. Absolutely recommend for my fellow KBBQ lovers!

From the moment you walk into 88 Korean BBQ & Sushi, you're greeted by friendly staff and a genuinely beautiful interior. I LOVE Korean BBQ and I've been to plenty of spots, but this one immediately stood out because it looks upscale and well put together. You know how some KBBQ places feel like a rave with smoke machines? Flashing lights, loud music, chaos everywhere? Yeah... this is not that. This place felt calm (as calm as KBBQ can be), not overly loud, and surprisingly comfortable. Even with multiple tables dining near us and TVs on, I could actually hear my party without yelling across the table. It's basically a standard KBBQ experience but upgraded. Now, let me apologize in advance for the lack of food photos. I meant to take more... but my big self was greedy and the food was LOVELY. The appetizers were dangerously good. We ordered multiple rounds of their crab puffs, which had the perfect balance of sweet and savory. My husband fell in love with the pork dumplings and kept trying to reorder them I had to stop him because sir, we still needed room for meat . The seaweed salad was fresh and clean-tasting, which honestly feels rare in Houston lately. I didn't get to try the egg rolls because my husband was way too excited about them and basically claimed them as his own. One thing I really appreciated was the portion sizes. Everything came out snack-sized, so nothing felt wasted if you didn't love something. Once we found what we liked, we just reordered more. which made it easy to try a bit of everything. The sushi rolls were super fresh and definitely a highlight. Our favorites were the Rainbow Roll, Red Dragon Roll, and Dragon Roll. The fish tasted clean, fresh, and didn't have that fishy smell at all (a HUGE win). The only small downside understandably since it was busy is that the sushi took a bit longer to come out since it's made to order. Totally worth the wait though, and service overall was still very good. As for the KBBQ, it was solid and reliable. My favorites were the spicy beef bulgogi, spicy pork belly, frog legs, and the 88 chicken. I wasn't a huge fan of the regular pork belly it tasted a little too bacon-y and not as savory as I prefer, but that's just personal taste. The sides were standard, but they gave a generous amount. I happily loaded up on fish cake (I LOVVVVVE fish cake), pickled radish, and white rice. I wasn't super impressed with the sauce bar, so I made my own dipping sauce situation and it worked just fine. Pro tip for KBBQ newbies (or guilt-eaters like me): order the lettuce wraps to wrap your meat and rice an instant grease cutter and fake health points . Overall, this place was really, really good, and I'm excited to say we've added another regular spot to our roster. Only thing to note: parking is limited, so come early, come hungry, and be ready to have a great time. Would absolutely come back.

We needed a Korean BBQ place in Cypress and now we finally have one. We went at lunch time to try it out. The place is brand spanking new and clean. The side and sauce bar was pretty good and they kept is clean. It had the self service Korean sides and some desserts. The meat quality was pretty good. The beef had good marbling and pork belly was fresh. They had some kid friendly foods like fries, nuggets, mandu, etc that you could order. This was good for our toddler since he loves fries and mandu. What was surprisingly good was the fried rice. It was hibachi style and made to order. You could pick your protein. I don't remember having this kind of option at other all you can eat Korean BBQ places. It was nice to have. We want to go back for dinner to try the galbi and ribeye. The lunch menu is limited to a small handful of meat (bulgogi, porkbelly, beef belly, etc), but we still enjoyed eating there for lunch.

So excited to have some more asian options in north Cypress! We were greeted by a great hostess - she was super friendly and warm, explaining the options between KBBQ only or with sushi for $6 more. The space is also quite nice and inviting. It's a pretty big space with modern and bright decor for both the sushi bar and the dining area. There were a decent amount of TVs scattered around the space also that could make it a nice spot to watch a sports game. As for the food, I was impressed how expansive the menu was for the $39 price point for an adult eating the dinner KBBQ+sushi option. They had seafood, waygu, and sashimi options, which again I was impressed by for an AYCE spot of this price. The food all felt very fresh and the servers were very prompt with bringing out our food and asking if we wanted to order more food. However, I did think that the quality of meats and sushi was not super high, and some of the menu items came in small quantities. But, I think for what you're paying, it was good enough and you can always order more if you wanted more. The seafood quality though, I did think to be pretty high; I definitely recommend the scallops especially. Lastly, be warned, if you're visiting to celebrate a birthday, 88 goes all out by serenading you with a Panda LOL.

40 years later, this establishment has finally opened! (Ok. Maybe not 40 years... but it definitely has had an empty building with a Korean BBQ sign for years now.) I was super excited to have a Korean AYCE BBQ restaurant in Cypress, but my dining experience was a let down. Very slow service and rather best described "as good as Cypress can get with Asian food" in a nutshell. Pricy for low quality. First, the cost for all-you-can-eat (ayce) is $32. For an additional $6, you can also have ayce sushi. Second, whenever we asked a server or anyone in the wait staff for ingredients in the drinks (I've a dairy allergy), they responded with an "I don't know" or they would look clueless. Many of the wait staff appear to be in college or high school students who were over their head with the fast-paced environment of ayce. However, I think at least 1 person should know if their bubble tea drinks have dairy in it... or at least explicitly label that there is milk used in the menu. Speaking of the menu, there weren't any clear labels for common allergies. I don't recommend this place if you've severe dietary restrictions. Third, regarding the meat, there isn't a large selection (compared to other ayce Kbbq restaurants) and the service is incredibly slow. (Again, I believe it's the lack of training due to the wait staff's ages or little awareness of how to keep up with a fast-paced ayce restaurant.) They should get a bell to ring for every table so it'll be easier for us to get their attention. We didn't even bother with getting dessert, since we probably would've been there until closing and I had work the following morning. That's how slow the service felt to me and we arrived at a reasonable dining time of 7:30 pm. The parking is also rather small for an ayce establishment. You'd think the lot was large, but the entrance is facing the feeder road of 290. Don't park by the furniture store or you WILL be towed. Explicit signage posted. I think this restaurant is all hype. The only good things about this place was that you can create your own sauce, get as much sauce and side dishes as you want, and ample seating for groups and families! The pandas were also a bit off-putting for me, since the Giant Panda is Chinese... not Korean... During a birthday song, a panda mascot appeared and there are a superfluous amount of panda plushies by the entrance. It would be more appropriate for there to be a tiger instead of a panda. Korea's national animal is a tiger and the animal was also on my Korean Tae Kwon Do uniform. Needless to say, my family actually makes the drive to visit other ayce kbbq restaurants than 10-15 mins to here. Check out my review for Garosu (same price but better menu and higher quality meats with ayce sushi included).

We were super excited to try this new all you can eat Korean bbq place. It's $33 for adults and $19 for kids plus $6 extra per person if you want both sushi and bbq. Not too bad. You should know, that you cook your own food and the server does not do it like im other Korean bbq restaurants. We were seated right away and the place was pretty packed. We ordered a few items of sushi, and meats to cook on the hot pot. A lot of food didn't come out and we had to keep reminding our server that items were never brought out. Our waters ran out a lot without anyone to ask for refills. It's a new restaurant, so I gave them grace on that. Overall tge place is nice and the food is good. Hopefully they can work out some of the kinks

I think they are still in a "soft" open status. 32.99 11yrs and older for "dinner" 3pm or later. You have 2hrs to dine. All you can eat (AYCE). Lunch before 3pm for adults are 21.99 M-F. (See my pix for more kids pricing etc). If you pay 6.00 more each you can do AYCE sushi too. We didn't do that. Includes the korean side dishes (salad bar style), fruit, dessert. Sauce station with like 10 options. You also get to order apps, salads, dessert (we had fried cheesecake). Came here on a friday night in Oct. We are visiting from central tx. We got here around 5ish. Seated immediately. Clean, friendly, great for family, date night, singles sitting at the bar. Great service. Great tv's everywhere. We watched the Oct BB mlb games. By the time we left around 630 the place was packed! For 2 eaters...Tons of great meat choices. We got... the Bugolgi, marinated chicken, korean short ribs (our fav), wagyu beef tips (2nd fav). Got gyoza, spicy edamame. We'd come back. Lunch is the best deal for sure!

Mount Fuji and Dragon Rolls were so delicious

First, they are a couple months into this by now and were hitting on all cylinders when I was there on Oct 20, 2025. Then, they were open for about a week or two. The food, I had sushi, was fresh and delicious. For lunch it is $21.99 whether you get sushi or Korean (one or the other). It is all you can eat, but honestly, who wants to go all out at lunch, so you just order your meal with maybe that extra fried rice or edamame. Service was great! Attentive waittress and they all pitch in to help. The ambiance is fresh and bright with music playing. There is kind of a minor maze of various curbs to meander into their place, but well worth the journey.

Our family go-to on weekends or after recitals. Been here a handful of times and the customer service is always excellent as well as the quality of the meat and food. Tom was an excellent server and had great drink recommendations. We will be back, we try to come every month.

*CYPRESS, TX* An AYCE kbbq AND/OR sushi in Cypress! And ofc, I had to get BOTH (ONLY $28/pp)! Food is ordered from the table. There is a self service station for sauces, sides and desserts (also other dessert options in the menu). Sooo much items to choose from! Food was fresh and delicious (had sashimi options and meat was perfectly, thinly sliced) all came out fast. Service was great (very attentive and checked on us often) 88 Korean BBQ and Sushi 25414 US-290 Frontage Rd, Cypress, TX 77429

A combination of all you can eat Korean bbq and/or sushi!!! This place seems to have already been found by the locals as it was packed on a Friday night. You can choose from an assortment of meats for grilling, including already cooked sides, soups and salads. For a few dollars more, you can add ayce sushi too! The sushi can be in nigiri, sashimi or rolls. There's also a sauce and banchan bar to making your dining even more delicious.

But this was the perfect storm, where we were on the way home, and I needed to pick up dinner for later. My visit to 7Friday was finally gonna happen! I couldn't decide what to order because I wanted one of everything, so I just went with the two most popular items on the website: the salmon lover combo and the crunch combo. If you ever buy sushi from HEB, you know that it's usually pretty hardened by the time you eat it. This is a completely different experience. It tastes like it was made 5 minutes ago. Super fresh, like you're at a nice sushi spot. If we lived nearby, we would absolutely be hitting this up on a regular basis. The crazy high rating is well-deserved!

You can place your order online and pickup or come in and grab from their counters and shelves. There are counters at the front if you want to enjoy your meal on the spot. Otherwise, grab trays of goodies to take home and enjoy. They even have a drive through! Ask the staff and they can help you pick out some favorites. My recent trip was for the "I Dream of Nigiri" party tray to enjoy at a post holiday celebration. There was a total of 6 party trays and this one was the first to get devoured. I love the assortment of nigiri styles presented. The fish and ingredients were very fresh and definitely worth the one hour drive from the medical center. The joy on my friend's faces while eating confirmed for me that this was the right place to go. I always try to stop by when I'm in the area. Figured it would be too late for dinner after the show so I went before and am glad that I did! Easy to find on the east side of the outlet mall and right off of the old Hempstead Highway, now 290. I was there at 5:30 and only a few people inside dining or having a drink. My server was Everado and he was great. I ordered a glass of the Imagery Pinot Noir. I was in real luck as it was Happy Hour with some great discount prices on several of their appetizers, sushi and sashimi. I decided to try the soft shell crab appetizer and it came out so quickly. It was crispy and super fresh, perfectly paired with the wine I had ordered. I love Japanese restaurants like this, especially when they aren't supper busy. You can take your time, order a thing or two and peruse the menu and pick something else at your leisure. My next treat was one of their "signature appetizers" and it was great, what was described on the menu as a tuna and salmon martini! Wow, it tasted as good as it looked and not only had fresh sashimi slices of tuna and salmon but also meaty escolar. In the center was a creamy mix of wasabi, ginger topped with some tobiko, the small orange fish roe. Talk about a real culinary treat! Next up was a special house roll called the Pink Lover Roll which was a roll with chopped spicy salmon, tuna, yellow tail, tempura jalapeno and avocado with spicy mayo, eel sauce and honey wasabi. The portion was huge and really could have fed 2 people. I enjoyed it but found the sauces over the top a bit too much. It was spice but not too hot. Glad I tried it but would opt for something different next time and surely not as large! Last thing ordered was the Hibachi Combo Yakisoba dinner entree. Had it not been for the large previous roll I ate I would have devoured this as it was fresh off the hibachi grill and full of shrimp and beef as well as a lively assortment of crisp vegetables. It came with a pleasant miso soup, the perfect thing between courses. Alas, I ended up taking half of my yakisoba home for a future lunch. The restaurant is nicely decorated, very clean and sharp. You can sit at at table, booth or at the bar, I chose a table. Restrooms were clean and easy to find. In the end my lovely dinner was just under $100 plus a 20% tip for great service so not a place you might go to casually in regard to cost but still worth the trip as everything was fresh and well presented.
