Stopped by Amazing Thai & Sushi on a quiet Sunday afternoon and was pleasantly surprised. It's a small, no-frills mom and pop place with a calm atmosphere, which was just what I was looking for. Not long after I arrived, more people started trickling in, and the man working there even thanked me for "bringing him luck," which was a nice personal touch. I ordered the spicy miso soup with salmon chunks and a Galveston roll. The soup had good flavor with a nice heat, and the salmon was fresh and tender. The roll was solid too! It was fresh, flavorful, and well-made. For the price, it's hard to beat. You can tell they put care into what they're serving. Nothing overly fancy, just solid Thai and sushi in a cozy, laid-back setting. A great local spot worth checking out if you're in the area

Super fresh & customer service was amazing! I got the shaggy dog, white tuna and crab rangoons to go. Presentation was great!

We drive by this restaurant all the time but decided to try it today. The food was superb and the plate presentation was fun. Sushi was very fresh with loads of fish. I like that they leave a water pitcher at the table. The place is small but very clean and comfortable. This will definitely be one of our favorites.

Found this humble, friendly and clean family-run restaurant via a Google search - located in a strip center along TC Jester and behind the FM 1960 Walmart. The outstanding reviews were very encouraging as we visited for dinner just now. The place was practically empty, which is unfortunate (could do with better community support). Must say the place lives up to its name - Amazing! Friendly and quick service, compact and clean dining area, generous portions of excellent Sushi/Sashimi and Thai food. The owner is very solicitous and offers additional helpings of rice, etc., gratis. Ordered hand-crafted assorted Sushi plate as appetizer, followed by Chicken Pad Thai, Tofu Panang Curry, and Tofu Green Curry as mains; rounded off the excellent meal with generous portions of yummy Mango Sticky Rice! The entire meal set us back $80, including tax and tip. This place is well worth a visit. A hardworking family enterprise that can do with generous community support. We plan to return, of course!

This is my fifth or sixth time trying out this restaurant and it has yet to disappoint. I usually forget to take photos before digging in because the food is always so fresh and appealing upon pickup. The service at this location is top tier. It appears to be family owned with one member of the family quickly acknowledging any guest arrival. The ambiance is quaint and rhetorical decor is reflective of a typical Asian inspired restaurant. The highlight of this place is food portions, quality, and taste. Today I picked up some hot and cold items. I couldn't manage to wait so I polished the gyoza before I was able to complete my review. If ever in the area, please give this place a try. You won't be disappointed.

I had such a good experience here! I've been looking at thai places around me for mango sticky rice and none of them looked appealing except for amazing thai. I got the panang curry and mango sticky rice and both were so good. I got my curry with tofu and it also came with a side of rice. Prices were reasonable and the service was great. I also liked that it was clean inside! I'll definitely be returning.

The staff was friendly. But the food...bussin. We ordered some appetizers, sushi, and Pad Kee Maw (pictures below). I'm definitely coming back here.

Upon arrival, I was told that I could not sit at the sushi bar and eat. If I wanted to order I had to go sit in the common area of this dining hall. After this discussion, I said fine and asked for a menu. They then told me I had to get up and order at the register and view the menu glued to the counter. They took the order of a couple who sat down maybe 2 minutes before me in front of me. I will never come back to this place. They seem to be the last man standing in this dining hall, and with this kind of customer service, they won't last much longer. It's a shame because I love the food and I am a regular at handies and aiko as well. Won't be back to any of them.

The vibe was moody and lightly lit, and the restaurant was busy with people celebrating. I ordered the sunomono, maguro crudo, salmon and king crab hand roll, and signature nigiri. The hand rolls were probably the best thing I've ever had, I even ordered an additional spicy tuna hand roll because I wasn't ready for them to be over. My sister even ordered another flight of nigiri because it was so phenomenal. To finish, I ordered the ube sponge cake, which was the perfect little treat to end the night. Seriously, I'll be dreaming about this meal. If I'm back in Houston, I'll definitely be coming back!

Not a fan of that drink (2.5 stars or less). HRW order - 1st: sunomono (cucumber) - 2nd: hotate crudo (delicious scallops!!) - 3rd: spicy tuna & sake handrolls - dessert add-on: matcha mochi (ok, can skip this) Other foods ordered: - karaage: chicken was well made, lots of flavor - sashimi (3pc): saketoro, madai, & hotate - unagi nigiri: eel was really good - spicy scallop handroll Even if you don't need to use the restroom, you should still check out the bathroom. GENERALIZED REVIEW:…read more Came here with a friend from theatre after a full run--he had this place recommended to him by another theatre friend, so we're just passing on the word. The plaza was a bit confusing to navigate, and I'm pretty sure if the place weren't full of Asian parents and their kids, it would've felt like the shadiest place ever because you have to enter from the back. Otherwise, the plaza had a lot of great-looking stores overall. My first go-to: I've loved drinking Kirin Light ever since I discovered it in Chicago. The flavor is literally so light, with a slight acidity that brightens up my meal. The sake here was frankly also delicious. I didn't order it, but my friend did, and they had it warmed. The flavor was soothing and subtle, almost like tea. It was exceptionally easy to drink, and the ocean-themed ceramicware was a beautiful touch. We ordered two rolls: the Shaggy Dog and the Truffalufagus (a fun tongue-twister). I personally chose the Truffalufagus (which is not fun to spell) because it seemed like the most unique dish on the menu, and I enjoyed it very much. What I liked most about it was that it was subtle yet impactful. I also loved the textures--from the internal crunch paired with the fresh jalapeño to the softness of the fish. I'm glad I gave this roll a shot, and I would be excited to try it again anytime. The Shaggy Dog was great, but it appealed less to my flavor profile. It was a little too rich and creamy for me. I recommended this place to my BF as a potential future date spot--I personally think he would like it... if he weren't the type to enjoy AYCE sushi so much. If they had more unique rolls, I would definitely come back just for those. I was tempted to order the Surf and Turf for this round, but I didn't want to seem like a glutton, hahaha.
