Simply the best. Get on Yelp waitlist. Arrive and check in. Stafff are nice and attentive. Food comes out generally quick and fresh...so delish. Big, clean restaurant with good amount of seating. Highly recommend.

Always packed although service has diminished greatly. Never can beat the samurai roll. Rolls are huge and tempura crispy. Loud and busy, good for a get together. Prices went up, now $20 for most rolls. Oyako donburi was slightly dry this time even tho I asked for extra sauce

Service was prompt and the food was tasty. Abundant parking and we day in a booth so we were very comfortable. We've been coming here for decades and will likely continue in the future.

Cute little spot right by the water, great for grabbing sushi after a walk along the bay. The service was pretty standard and friendly enough, but nothing super memorable. We had a late lunch so there was no wait. We ordered a bunch of rolls: Lion King Roll, Samurai Roll, Rainbow Roll, and Caterpillar Roll and the portions were huge. You'll definitely walk out with leftovers! Overall it was an okay sushi meal, not the most authentic sushi experience, but it's an option if you want a meal by the water with massive portions that will keep you full.

Delicious and huge portions! Service varies but the food is good! Definitely order the bentos!

Came on a Wednesday afternoon around 3pm near the end of lunch hour. The place was clean & empty, we were quickly seated. I ordered the Chucky Roll, Lion King Roll, and Scallops roll. The Chucky roll was good, I didn't care for the texture of the scallops roll much. My favorite was the Lion King rolls. Overall I would recommend this sushi place, can't wait to come back and try more items!

Wow this place is terrific! The Bento Box is a great value and you get a lot of food. Comes with soup and salad. I only got a picture of my soup and when my Bento Box arrived, I started scarfing it down immediately. A huge Yelp faux pax, I forgot to take a picture!! I ordered mine with Teriyaki Beef and California Roll. The California Roll was so fresh and delicious, I had no idea a Cali Roll could taste that good. It's usually such an underrated roll but this was a stand out. The Teriyaki Beef was a generous portion and very tender. This restaurant is so clean and spacious with lots of light from the wall to wall windows overlooking the water. Service was efficient with lots of different servers all helping out.

It's been a while since I came back here, and it's still as packed as ever. Luckily we checked in on yelp ahead of time so waiting wasn't all that bad for us. Food still just as good as it was back when I last came here. Service this time around was slow, but that's cause they were short on servers. They tried their best to be attentive.

The service was quite good, and the food was decent overall. However, if you're looking for a truly authentic Japanese dining experience, this may not be the place. I ordered a $30 bento dinner, which came with tempura, soup, salad, and rice, along with a choice of two main items. I chose tuna sashimi and yakiniku, and the portions were very generous. That said, the flavors didn't quite feel traditionally Japanese. The restaurant itself is fairly large, with plenty of seating and a pleasant atmosphere. We also ordered three different rolls, though I don't remember their names. The rolls were enjoyable and tasted good, but the overall flavor profile leaned more toward a Japanese-American fusion rather than classic Japanese cuisine. Overall, it's a comfortable place with good service and generous portions--nice for a casual meal, just not ideal if authenticity is what you're seeking.

Sushi was really good! Tasted really fresh, well prepared. My only complaint was the service. The workers seemed to be in a rush and didn't give us enough time to look at the menu. I felt like they rushed us in and out. Made the experience not too relaxing.

I ordered picked up for lion king, bay scallops roll, hell la hot, island roll. The total was $77. 53. I got disappointed that they swapped my lion king for California roll. I didn't check when I left the store. They still charge me the lion king roll and didn't explain anything

We were pleasantly surprised! I havent visited the Sushi house in over a decade, but I was in the area with some friends and they wanted sushi. We stopped by on a Sunday afternoon around 4PM and it was quite empty so we were seated immediately. Parking was easy. When we sat down, they brought us our menus and tea, and they were prompt to ask us for our orders. The orders came really quick, and we ordered the lion king(which everyone knows it typically takes a while). What we ordered: Lion King(4/5): This was the first this we were served and it was hot and delicious. Thet did skimp out on the salmon a little, you can tell how thin the layer it, it's the thinnest salmon I've seen on a lion king roll. They do add a lot of rice so it's filling. $18 for this roll. Hella hot(3/5): Okay not as hot and flavorful as we thought it'd be. It was average. Also $18, we didn't think it was worth $18. Marine boy(4/5): Unique combination with the salmon skin and unagi with the raw fish. We did enjoy this one and I'd never had a roll like this before. Matcha cheesecake(5/5): Yum! Delicious, but small. I guess that's just the norm though. The tea was also really good. We spent some time enjoying the tea with our matcha cheesecake desert and they didn't rush us to leave which was nice. The place did start getting bush around 5PM. Between three of us, we spent around $75. The prices do seem steep when you see the price tag of $18/roll. However, the rolls are decently substantial and the 3 of us were full.

One thing about sushi house is their rolls are always huge and it's fulfilling. The prices have gone up over the year but it's still a good value for the portion. I love the fact you can use Yelp to put yourself on the waitlist. The service this time was much better but it could be a slower night. This restaurant is a good option if you want decent sushi in Alameda.

Are reservations necessary for a party of 5?

No reservations necessary. You just have to put your names on the waiting list.

Are they taking orders in New Year's Eve?

Hi, I'm wondering if you're open and accepting phone orders right now? I have called a few times with no response.

Yes they are open typically till 9. We go there 2-3 times a week. If you can get through they will take a phone order but depending on the time and day your call may not get picked up. Late afternoon/evening is the busiest. They are open everyday.

What hours do they only serve the lunch menu ? What time does dinner menu start?

Are they open during this pandemic for take-out?

    Yes

    Can you do Online ordering?

I wish they do but not yet.

    Do they have air conditioning?

Yes, totally do. Plus its by the water so its not usually very hot anyways.

Is this place all you can eat?

No it's not. AYCE sushi places are like D quality sushi lol.

Having scouted through Yelp (like a true Elite does), I was all set to order my Bara Chirashi ($24) which is cubed slices of mixed sashimi and ikura over a bed of rice. It was beautifully made and took an appropriate amount of time since it was made to order. Very delightful and something that I would order again, but definitely eyeing the Best Catch Box ($29) next time for their beautiful presentation of negatory, uni, scallops, ikura (take a look at the Yelp photos if you haven't!). I think dividing responsibilities a bit differently could really help improve the flow of service and make the overall dining experience even better. Once you walk into the restaurant, there's indoor and outdoor seating available. The outdoor seating is covered by a patio, and on colder days, I'm assuming they will put a heater out there? I'm not too sure, since I don't actually eat outside often. Indoor is well lit up, and has a decent amount of seating. The biggest table I have seen seats around 6 people, but can be more if you have small children I suppose. We mostly order the rolls here, and to be fair, it's a decent pricing. However, it is a hit or miss. 1. Lion King - Decent. Taste all the same everywhere you go if you ask me. 2. Deep Fried Spicy Tuna - Must have, definitely my favorite. 3. Golden Gate - More on the saucy side with imitation crab meat, it's basic. 4. Dragon Roll - Again, same anywhere you go. 5. Double Salmon Roll - Salmon on the inside, salmon on the outside. Cheaper alternative than to just getting nigiri or salmon sashimi. The customer service here is not the best in my opinion. The first time we took a friend there for his birthday, and it was terrible. The host, waiter/server, and manager disregarded us. However, a table next to us got the friendliest treatment. The type of treatment you give when you expect them to come back so you can address them by their name. The second time we've been here, the customer service was basic. No expectations, just take your order, serve, and a simple question of how is everything. Honestly, customer service could have been much more reasonable at even the most basic level. He found this place so we went to give it a try. It's in a plaza so there's parking . When you walk in it's a cute store front . Modern but cozy . Customer service was nice and fun . Our waitress was very helpful . Oysters on the half shell were fresh. Yall know that's my favorite and I'll never tell no lies ! The sauce they put on it was a nice touch and not overbearing the fresh oyster taste ! Tempura has a nice crispy batter and the prawns were plump not skimpy or chewy . I also got the Santa Barbara hand roll because I really wanted uni but they don't sell uni as an appetizer. The hand roll itself was good nice flavor loved the salmon eggs , just wish there was more uni ( probably because that's what I really wanted lol I'm being honest okay ). But the star of the show for me was the SPICY LION KING ROLL . I've had plenty of lion king rolls throughout the years but never had a spicy one and it was bomb . I think what makes it spicy is the sauce they use . Wasn't too hot just an extra little kick to everything going on . We were sitting right next to the sushi makers and they overheard us talking about how good it was and they loved our vibe . We chatted and got to a point they gave us a free dessert which was so good ! I forgot the name but it was like a soft fluffy pancake filled with cold cream like vanilla ice cream ! I'd definitely give them a try and would come again .
