I've had this spot bookmarked for years and finally got to try it for my daughters sweet 16 let's get into it . It's right by the alameda beach in a plaza so there's plenty of parking . When I walked in they have a kiosk to put yourself on the reserve list for seating . Lucky for us it wasn't crowded so we were seated immediately. Inside is big and roomy so you can definitely bring a large party here or just a date night . Our waiter was very nice plus all the staff were accommodating. I always get sashimi but I got to have my uni ( sea urchin ) craving knocked out ! They were plump and sweet but still had that fresh ocean taste omg ! Amazing . Salmon sashimi was nice thick cuts and melted like butter . For the roll the waiter recommended the island roll and it was pretty good ! I also got oysters ( kinda on the smaller side ) but still were fresh and the sauce they give to go with it was a nice touch . We also got the chicken teriyaki sushi combo which comes with Cali rolls and nigiri . The cuts on the nigiri were big as well ( but didn't taste as fresh as the salmon nigiri ) and they were gracious with the amount of tobiko they top the Rolls with . miso soup and salad was good . Overall I would definitely come back to try other rolls they have a lot of speciality rolls ! And if you like uni like me , definitely they got you covered ! read more

Always a great experience at Sushi House! Got the sashimi platter (forgot which one it is but I believe it is $50). I saw someone else get it on yelp and the waitress let me know which one it is on the menu. Delicious! The lambada roll is my favorite! My only complaint tonight is the pieces were so thin! Cute little spot right by the water, great for grabbing sushi after a walk along the bay. The service was pretty standard and friendly enough, but nothing super memorable. Came on a Wednesday afternoon around 3pm near the end of lunch hour. The place was clean & empty, we were quickly seated. I ordered the Chucky Roll, Lion King Roll, and Scallops roll. The Chucky roll was good, I didn't care for the texture of the scallops roll much. My favorite was the Lion King rolls. Wow this place is terrific! The Bento Box is a great value and you get a lot of food. Comes with soup and salad. I only got a picture of my soup and when my Bento Box arrived, I started scarfing it down immediately. A huge Yelp faux pax, I forgot to take a picture!! I ordered mine with Teriyaki Beef and California Roll. The California Roll was so fresh and delicious, I had no idea a Cali Roll could taste that good. It's usually such an underrated roll but this was a stand out. The Teriyaki Beef was a generous portion and very tender. This restaurant is so clean and spacious with lots of light from the wall to wall windows overlooking the water. Service was efficient with lots of different servers all helping out. read more

We were pleasantly surprised! I havent visited the Sushi house in over a decade, but I was in the area with some friends and they wanted sushi. We stopped by on a Sunday afternoon around 4PM and it was quite empty so we were seated immediately. Parking was easy. When we sat down, they brought us our menus and tea, and they were prompt to ask us for our orders. The orders came really quick, and we ordered the lion king(which everyone knows it typically takes a while). What we ordered: Lion King(4/5): This was the first this we were served and it was hot and delicious. Thet did skimp out on the salmon a little, you can tell how thin the layer it, it's the thinnest salmon I've seen on a lion king roll. They do add a lot of rice so it's filling. $18 for this roll. Hella hot(3/5): Okay not as hot and flavorful as we thought it'd be. It was average. Also $18, we didn't think it was worth $18. Marine boy(4/5): Unique combination with the salmon skin and unagi with the raw fish. We did enjoy this one and I'd never had a roll like this before. Matcha cheesecake(5/5): Yum! Delicious, but small. I guess that's just the norm though. The tea was also really good. We spent some time enjoying the tea with our matcha cheesecake desert and they didn't rush us to leave which was nice. The place did start getting bush around 5PM. Dine in- Wednesday march 11 at 7pm (A weekday, not busy, normal) walk in no wait for table on the weekday. Hurts my Heart to give such a low review, because this was our go to sushi spot in the Bay Area for many years. All the years it's been 5 stars forshure, not anymore. Lately Service has been Under performing, the Lady waiters are almost rude, not friendly or welcoming at all. We are afraid to ask for something because they look angry or frustrated, at one point we asked for utensil and she forgot, we had to ask again. They also don't check on us at all. Tables don't look clean, they look sticky blurry, like they just do a quick wipe. The food is Always delicious and amazing, good size good portions. The Seafood udon soup is a 5 star soup, but for a the sushi..... It's been very sloppy lately. Doesn't look appetizing from the arrival. It looks falling apart, We have noticed this is frequent that the sushi rolls are Lazy sloppy work. We slowly stopped comming here from 4 times per month to 1-2 times a month. I would give 3 stars for the delicious food, but customer service doesn't help, and the rolls are sloppy, it wouldn't be honest. Sushi House is one of my go to spots, especially since it's close to Alameda beach. It's honestly a nice place to hang out with friends or family after being by the water. The sushi is always fresh and really good, and they have a lot of options to choose from. They also have a good variety of drinks. It does get pretty busy, especially on weekends, but they have a waitlist iPad (Yelp) right when you walk in and a small waiting area in front, so it's pretty organized. If you're doing takeout, you can just call ahead for pickup which is super convenient. The restroom is clean and well maintained too :) They do close for a bit during the day and then reopen, so just keep that in mind. Overall, really solid spot. Growing up in the bay, I've been to sushi house soooo many times. Sushi House is my mom's favorite place to get sushi. My family comes here for celebrations or to get to-go! Parking is usually easy since there is a parking lot. It could be busy during the peak hours. For this review, I ordered to go. You can order on their website or order by the phone. When using the website on my phone, there was a glitch. So I called. I placed my order with no issues through the phone and paid when I went to pick it up. Sushi was delicious as always and everything was made fresh. I do believe the portion is bigger for Bento box when you get it to-go. But remember, the price is $30 for the bento box combination. I love their lion king! It is $18 for 6 pieces. Overall, I love sushi house! Super scenic restaurant! I enjoyed coming here for a little sushi date. Panoramic views of the South Shore waters from the large windows. I got the Sake Salad, which came with iceburg lettuce, ikura, olive oil dressing, sprouts, and ODDLY parmesan cheese... The salmon was really fatty and high quality surprisingly. They seated me at the sushi bar and this was an eye opener for me after years of going here. Lets get started. Here is what never see seated in the dining area. I was disappointed on their food prep area and serving dishes and especially the Japanese wooden sashimi / sushi boards stacked at the sushi bar. Those have a lifespan and that has to change before we return. The wood is very old and we have been going here for many many years seeing the same ones and thankfully we have not gotten sick yet. The sushi bar area where I was seated shows all the unhealthy visual signs and how they make the food made my realize I need to reach out and say something. Well, they need to address cleanliness Go have a look and you will understand my survey. Please make the inspection and address the kitchen and prep areas and do not ignore the obvious. It's meh. It's a good spot for your quick casual sushi spot, but not for high quality sashimi. It does the job for your sushi cravings but that's about it! Service was great, fast, friendly. Tons of seating indoors. The restaurant itself felt a little grimey. Floors were sticky and the table feels grimey as well. We ordered the alameda sushi boat and it was meh. Some of the sashimi was not the most fresh. I believe the hamachi may have been frozen, thawed, then frozen again bc it was mushy. The tuna and salmon were fine. The uni was NOT great. Very no bueno. Sushi House often gets crowded, so I like the join the waitlist on Yelp before I come. The place is by South Shore, so it is right by the water. The restaurant itself is pretty roomy, but it always has people. In terms of the food itself, I think their sushi is exceptional no matter what you get. You definitely can get full off of their rolls. They are competitively priced, and quality has not failed me. Their service is quick, and so you just need to make eye contact to ask for things. I've been coming to this place for years. I used to live in Alameda on the same street down the way down the block and often I would get The Lion King Roll. I also get other things on the menu but that's what stands out here the most and I've tried other lion King rolls elsewhere but this one has the absolute best like if I'm ever craving it this is where I go to get my fix hands-down recommended and of course it has a view of the beach since it's right there across the street from it. I would avoid going on a busy night or like weekend afternoon but any other time during the week it should be good. Try it out. read more

Their lion king roll is definitely one of my favorites compared to other sushi restaurants in the Bay Area. Their bento boxes are extremely filling and their selection of rolls is unbeatable. Service: 3/5 It took around 20-30 minutes for our first dish to finally arrive. Ideally, I would have loved the tempura appetizer to come out first before everything else, but it came out after our sushi was served. It was quite busy so nobody really checked up on us but the wait is what really determined the score. Ambiance: 4/5 The restaurant is located along the Alameda shoreline which is nice. For typical Bento box thos is huge and a lot for the money. Unlimited tea. Their drinking water as I measured it was so clean very low in TDS Ppm as if its better than bottled water. Getting takeout from here has been incredibly inconsistent over the last few years. My family has been coming here since before Covid, and it was good back then. Now, we order takeout about every other week, and I order the same hamachi roll for takeout every time, and it also comes out different every time. The roll itself is only hamachi and green onions as listed on the menu, but the green onions always end up either rolled into it, just on top, or not there at all. I know it's a small ingredient, but it's just disappointing when you can't depend on your order turning out the same way every time. read more
