What a hidden gem. Although the location isn't ideal, the food and service more than make up for it. Our server (Brie) was both attentive and kind. The rolls were fantastic, but the "Fresh Roll" was BEYOND. Citrus and spice complimented the fish in the best way. I also ordered the Spicy Garlic edamame; firm, steamy, and packed with flavor. A generous portion was served, which I appreciated. "Tuna Party" was also very tasty, though heavily sauced. Food had good flavors. The sushi was enjoyed. The only unfortunate downsides were that the Coconut shrimp was slightly burnt and even though the curry sauce and vegetables were delicious, the Salmon was over-grilled which left an unpleasant aftertaste. Came here with a friend on their suggestion. His opinion of this place is, and I quote, "SO GOOD". I got the Volcano Roll (I think that's the name), which is spicy tuna covered in spicy scallops. I also got the spicy pork wonton soup, and a bowl of edamame. The edamame was not just salted, it was doused with sesame seeds and sesame oil, which is something I've never tried. It was good. REALLY good. The roll was large. I thought I was going to order another roll, but the one did me good. And the soup was decent. I would have liked more spice, but they did only put one chili pepper next to it on the menu, so they did let me know that it wasn't that spicy. The service - we were seated pretty much immediately, and we never had to wave our server down. They actually have a full bar in the back. I would recommend being seated in the restaurant and not the bar. The restaurant itself is brighter, whereas the bar was somewhat dark. It wasn't enough to make the meal unpleasant, I just didn't want to see TVs when I ate. Personal preference. They have a couple different locations around the area. I want to try the one in Liberty Lake and see if the quality is the same. I'll put it on my list. read more

We ordered the Transylvania roll, the Mr. lov ster roll, the monster roll, the TNT roll, blackjack roll and the red dragon roll. Our favorite was the Transylvania roll, that garlic was delicious. The least favorite was probably the black Jack roll. It just was lacking a crunch element. Rolls were packed with fish. Worth the price. read more

We ordered sushi and the chicken red curry. There are only a few places I have been to that have made chicken red curry the way this place does and it was delicious! The sushi was also amazing and tasted fresh. There wasn't anything we didn't enjoy when we ate here. While visiting this town, this was one of my favorite places we ate at. We had a very nice lunch here! Their bento options were just enough without getting over filled, and were decently priced for this present day. The soups that came with lunch were very tasty, and we fought over the crab rangoons. The only knock came from my Hubby, because they cut the beef for his teriyaki bento lengthwise and not across the grain, so they were too chewy. But he did say the flavor was good. We love Sushi House. It's our go to spot for reliably good food whether we want sushi, some bomb apps or some of my favorite general tso's chicken. Can't go wrong. Just had the miso Raman recently too which was delicious. It's definitely not the fanciest or most upscale sushi restaurant around but I've eaten sushi up and down the west coast of America and I would recommend this place all day every day. read more

We had spent over $100.00 for a party of 4. We were with our Grandchild ages 17- 9. We ordered Teriyak entrees, Server bought it to the table the meat was not even cut into pieces so you had to do your best not to choke on the meat itself. And was not given any knifes to cut it up, After I asked the server why he would serve meat like that I told him it was very dangerous, thoughtless in my mind. It was like you had to eat that meat like you was a caveman. Also we order tea asked for some sugar, he said they don't have sugar and brought us a few packs of sweetners. The day was getting dark so comments of the appearance couldn't be checked but the building didn't look to unappealing when rolling up. Definitely couldn't miss the sign of where it was at. We went inside and the place was well kept. We were seated fast, not to many people dining that night. There were people leaving and coming throughout our dinner so place stayed busy. The waitress was very nice and made sure we were satisfied with food and our needs. I ordered off the bento box menu. Wow!! We started off with cheese wontons for an appetizer. they were good and tasty! Our main dish came and there were Lots of food. I thought for sure I wouldn't finish. My wife and I enjoy both locations (Valley and North). The sushi is great, I feel like the prices are fair and don't present anything to complain about. Don't walk in expecting a ritzy or fancy experience, the whole vibe gives off a kick back and relax while you're here environment. The staff has always been friendly and represent the restaurant well. Still love a place where hot tea is served by the pot for super cheap, along with tasty side soups that will compliment any meal. All in all, is Sushi House the craftiest restaurant in town? The food here is fine, not great, but not bad. Here's the problem, it is VERY expensive for what you get but the final straw came when we went to have sushi a few days ago and when I looked at the receipt, there was an extra charge of $2. When I asked what this was the waitress said they charge to use a card now. Um, okay, but why wasn't I told before I gave my card, but it wouldn't have mattered anyway because I didn't have $80+ cash on me to pay anyway. Yes, it's only $2 but I just found the hidden, undisclosed extra charge tacky and dishonest. This was absolutely our last time going to Sushi House for the reasons mentioned. Holy sashimi. Hungry for sushi? Get yo ass here. The portion sizes are out of control. One roll probably equals 2.5 the size of a "normal" order. Super delish, super fresh; and the wait staff--superb. Very attentive and friendly. The ONLY reason I didn't give 5 stars is purely due to ambiance. The quality of food and service deserves an intensely better facility. The food just doesn't match up to "used-to-be-Mexican-restaurant-off-highway" location. I was in the area for lunch and had a sushi craving, so based on Yelp Reviews I decided to try it out. Should have turned around the moment I didn't see any seats at the sushi bar... It wasn't busy, they just didn't have any chairs at the bar-trying to hide something? Decided to just give it a try. Sat down and was greeted in a timely fashion and ordered an iced tea and nigiri salmon. The server was friendly. Started looking over the menu... Okay, there's Chinese, Japanese, AND Thai food on here.... "Oh boy", I thought.... Places that try to do all three cuisines generally don't get any of them correct. But I thought maybe I'm getting ahead of myself and it will be ok? Salmon arrived and looked pretty decent, but the ginger was pink . Another red flag for me personally... there should be absolutely no reason to dye pickled ginger. It should just be white, right? Salmon was not fresh-and the rice gave a strange taste... not using the correct rice vinegar, maybe? Okay, maybe I'll just try a roll and the Firecracker app (jalapeño stuffed with spicy tuna and cream cheese and dealt fried.) well when they arrived, the roll (filled with spicy tuna inside, salmon and lemon on top), the spicy tuna was BROWN.... This is NOT the right color of spicy tuna. The firecracker app Was doused in so much spicy mayo, you couldn't even see the inside of the jalapeño nor taste it. And the spicy tuna in that was also brown (after I wiped off tons of spicy mayo). What could have been a nice sushi lunch ended up being a MAJOR disappointment. If you actually LIKE sushi and appreciate good, fresh fish, don't bother. If your taste buds are such that you think deep fried cardboard is delicious, then you'll probably love this place. read more

The building, Especially the bar in back, looks to be an old Mexican restaurant that now serves sushi in a sports bar style (complete with a billiards league that was showing up during our meal). Standard selection of American and Asian beer. Full Japanese and sushi menu. When looking for a place to eat that's not pizza or burgers, I didn't see anything else in the area. It isn't friendly for disabled people or people with a baby as it has stairs and no place for a wheelchair or a stroller to get in.
