My choice, because my Hubby does not like mixing cheese with seafood. I got one "no thank you" bite from him, then a grimaced face with a just-no-shaking head, and the rest of it was mine. This is a really good sushi spot right in downtown Spokane! At first, the building can make it seem a little clinical -- but once you walk inside, it's so inviting. The staff is always friendly, and the food is consistently great. They do a great job accommodating both large groups and small parties, and I especially love sitting at the sushi bar. On this visit, I went with friends and had an amazing experience. I highly recommend the octopus balls (I forget the exact name, but they are a must-order appetizer!). Some of my favorite rolls are the Dragon Roll with the delicious eel sauce and the Rainbow Roll -- both are fantastic. In town for work and I popped in around 7pm to check out the menu and vibe, and it looked ok, the menu showed sushi on the pricier side but I don't mess around with fish so it was fine. I wanted to workout before eating so I asked the hostess what time they closed, she said 9 but the kitchen closes around 8:45. I went and worked out, and came back at 8:24, and she said the kitchen staff left and they were closing early. I told her that we talked an hour prior and she told me they close at nine and she just said everyone left so they're closing early. The exterior of Sushi.com did not look encouraging, but the interior was quite a different story. The service was very friendly and attentive, and the prices are quite reasonable. Alcohol is available here. The house sake was excellent and the beer served cold. We ordered the Tuna Tower as an appetizer. It was effectively a tall pile of rice with spicy tuna and other toppings. Overall it was very good. Other rolls we ordered included the 911 and Kyle rolls. Again, both are constructed, presented well and was quite flavorful. I was in Spokane for work and I was looking for something different. Sushi sounded really good so I looked on yelp and found Sushi.com. To be honest, I discounted the place due to the name but I was pleasantly surprised by the food. I started off with the Gyoza and then grabbed a few rolls. I was really happy with the quality of the food. Good portions and great flavor. Everything seemed really fresh. Service was also really good. I never wanted for anything. They were attentive but not overbearing. My only complaint was the parking situation. Not being familiar with the area the parking was a little confusing. I paid in the adjacent lot but felt that I may have gotten taken. Still not sure..... But that did not take away from the experience. Overall it was a good experience. I love dining here. My kids have grown up coming to sushi.com over the years and they love it, too, now as young adults. I like the lighting in the restaurant. It's not overly bright at all. It's a bit dim and even though it can seat a large amount of people, the dimming of the lights gives a more cozy and intimate feel. I like how the inside is set up- you have a view of the chefs making sushi from almost any table. I cannot remember if there is seating by the chefs. The wait staff are amazing. They never rush and drinks stay filled without having to ask. We usually order the same thing- sushi- and for my kiddo who doesn't eat sushi, chicken teriyaki. They are very accommodating to special requests for sushi and food changes. I really appreciate it as I have a particular sushi roll I love but isn't on the menu here. They have no problem making it and it's still affordable. The only thing I hope they change is that they'll be available on Ubereats or DoorDash! read more

HAIR IN MY FOOD! ... My two daughters and I ordered lunch bento box special along with teriyaki chicken stir fry. The food was good ALTHOUGH my daughter noticed a short straight hair in the California sushi roll. I have short curly hair and my daughters have long hair. Took 5 min to get the waiters attention and when he came over he told me they would ONLY remove the sushi roll from my meal and asked if I wanted a replacement roll to go. Of course we said yes being the whole reason we went to a sushi restaurant... when I got my bill the California roll was still on my tab. When asking the waiter why it was still on there, he said essentially we are giving you free sushi roll to go is why! NO SIR, the original roll had a hair, the right thing to do is replace it for free. In fact the whole meal probably should have been free. Ambiance - The inside was well lit and we were seated and attended to immediately. We went for an early dinner at 5 PM, but it got busier and busier as it approached 6 PM (on a weekend). It is very spacious inside and can accommodate large parties. There are people making sushi toward the back wall; I like knowing that the food is being made right there and then instead of in a back kitchen Food - I got one of the tonkatsu dinner bento, and wow the portions are huge! I like that they give a variety of sides as well. Even though the pork was crispy and went well with the savory, thick sauce, it was on the drier side and became harder the eat the more I ate it because it was dry. Inside: very spacious and completely open floor plan so you don't feel confined to any walls yet you're still able to have conversations with your party without any issues or getting too loud. Service is great and the waiters always walk by asking if there's anything else you need or to top off your drinks. I can't say I've had a bad experience here yet. (Better to go before the dinner rush as it does get pretty busy and you may end up waiting 10-15min). Food: the tofu is always a favorite and taste delicious. Both my friend and I have had several different rolls and I can't say we've had a bad one. Dragon roll is always a safe bet along with any tuna rolls or the spider roll. The Oh! We were looking for a quick and healthy meal on our way through town. We called ahead and ordered so we could take it on the road. Our order was completed faster than we were quoted! It was a quick, efficient and delicious stop! We had the hamachi and sake nigiri, both were fresh and generous portions. We also shared a few rolls: rock n roll, spicy.com, and the cougar roll. All had unique flavors, were nice sized pieces and so fresh! It was the perfect amount for us to share while on the road. I wasn't inside for long to get a feel for the ambiance, but I had a pleasant check out experience with the friendly staff. This place is downtown and there is a paid parking lot behind the building. This is a good place to stop in for an affordable sushi meal if you're not too fussy. I was staying in a nearby hotel when I stopped in for lunch. The service was very slow. It took the server a good 20 minutes to bring me my drink--it ended up coming along with my food. The food was decent. I guess I'm spoiled living so close to Little Tokyo in L.A., because the sushi didn't really stand out to me. I had a taco nigiri (octopus), and it was super rubbery--I've definitely had fresher stuff elsewhere (maybe it was frozen a little too long, is all I'm saying). The salmon roll was very good, but the other rolls had too much sauce glooped on them. Not bad--everything was tasty, but it was basically the same kind of sushi you'd find at most sushi places in strip malls across America. Our server Yuka was excellent and the others working there all had the same happy hard working demeanor. We ordered soft shell crab, Roe, chef's choice sushi and baked oysters. All of the food was excellent. The Miso soup that came with our particular dinner choices was outstanding. The Sushi was fresh and tasty. Sushi.com is the bomb.com. My brother and I had a desperate craving for sushi, a craving only sushi.com could fill. We arrived to find that they're currently only offering takeout, so we placed our order through their takeout window and dined at the brewery across the street. My order consisted of the gyoza and Crunch Roll, salmon and avocado deep fried with unagi sauce on top. This roll was absolutely fantastic, and paired perfectly with their spicy mayo sauce! I'll note that Sushi.com takes the safety of their guests very seriously, and has implemented a number of precautions due to COVID. Not only have they closed their dining room, but they also provide virtual menus through VR code, and consistently clean their windows, pens, and payment systems. I was in town for a conference and came here with a friend for lunch. There is no specific parking lot, so we had to pay for parking but there are lots and street parking nearby. My friend has a gluten allergy and they're very accommodating. The menu has things marked that are gluten free and they brought soy sauce that was gluten free. The sushi was fresh and delicious and so were the entrees. I ordered the Harley Davidson roll, veggie tempura, and a side salad. Their ginger dressing was very yummy and the tempura was freshly fried and delicious. The service was friendly and pretty quick, they did seem a little short staffed and had a lunch rush. This place was packed so we did have a wait of around 20 minutes which it was just a few minutes less than that when we got seated. Their menu have plenty to choose from with non sushi offerings as well if someone in your party doesn't like sushi. Prices are pretty average for sushi. Not extremely over priced. Everything we got was great. My husband got the salmon teriyaki which was great except he wishes the skin was not left on the bottom so he didn't need to pick it off. All the sushi rolls were amazing. My other daughter got a shrimp stir fried. They had tons of small shrimps. Usually I've had a shrimp stir fried with less, bigger shrimps but my daughter said it was real good. I would definitely recommend this place. read more
