We had a great girls night at Sushi Jip. The service was good. You can press a button on the outside tables to flag your server, and you can use a dry erase marker to check which sushi rolls you want on the menu. I think the quality of the sushi was fine. It was not the best sushi I've had in the area, but overall, it was decent. The veggie tempura and fried rice with chicken were very good. I really like the pretty display of the sushi rolls with the garnishes and decorative tree. We left very full and happy with our meal.

    CHIRASHI

I'm just gonna say it- this is probably the best chirashi I've had in either of dc or va in the recent past. The pieces of sashimi were incredibly fresh and there was a huge assortment of variety (really hate the ones where they just give you salmon and tuna and charge you an arm for it)- over 14 to be exact. And they were thickkkk slices so not cheaping out on the ingredients. They also include a mixed rice under that has carrots, edamame, fish roe, and pickled radish, which also makes it fun and way more flavorful than your typical chirashi. And then another added touch is that they give you a packet of seaweed if you wanna wrap the rice and sashimi together for another change in combo/texture (and put that seaweed in a small pouch so it doesn't get soggy being in there- very clever). The tempura was also really good. There's onion, broccoli, sweet potato, squash, kabocha squash + 2 pieces of shrimp. I arrived early for my pick up and the person who greeted me (I think is one of the owners) was not only so nice to me but gave me candy since I had to wait a bit for the food. The inside of the restaurant is very clean and there is also an outdoor patio area to enjoy the weather if you'd like. Of the sushi/sashimi places in Clarendon, I'd say this place's quality of food and price is the top.

Wanted to get some sushi to go and saw good reviews on this restaurant and decided to give it a try. I was so glad I did! Even the picture doesn't do it enough justice, when I opened this meal I was genuinely elated by how good everything looked. Even better was that it tasted phenomenal. Everything was so fresh, you can just tell by the color of the fish. I can't remember the rolls I had but the flavor was really great and the portions were huge. I was not expecting it. Definitely recommend and if you can tell by the photos they have very nice packaging.

I have been going to Sushi JIP since I moved to Clarendon, and I have not gotten sushi anywhere else since.Great selection of maki rolls, sushi, sashimi, and hibachi. Not only is the food at Sushi JIP phenomenal, but the staff makes the meal an experience. My boyfriend and I were one of Sushi JIP's first customers, and they are kind enough to send a free dessert as a thank you with almost every meal we eat in the restaurant. The presentation is intricate and beautiful. Definitely story worthy!

I came to Sushi Jip for dinner. I had sushi, hibachi. The dishes were very tasting and filling, I left with more leftovers than expected! You can't really go wrong with anything on the menu! The staff is also very nice and welcoming!

Holiday roll, eel& avocado, spicy tuna, blue crab California roll, California sunrise
    Taylor A.

The presentation!! The velocity!! The service!! Stack ranking the rolls, the crab was definitely at the bottom for me. The California sunrise was at the top and phenomenal. The holiday roll was interesting and sneakily sweet -- the red and green masago is fun touch! Spicy tuna and eel are always staples and classics. I second every person that said that this is the best sushi they've had in the area. Stopped by around 5/5:30 on a Saturday and was immediately sat (although the place filled up a fair bit by 6pm). It's not too loud, the place settings are adorable, and the artwork is calming. We paid $84 including 20% tip for a filling, delicious, and glorious meal for two. I can't wait to visit again!

    Sushi deluxe and chicken Katsu
    Antony M.

Ordered the Sushi Deluxe. BEST SUSHI I HAVE HAD OUTSIDE OF JAPAN!!! I know that sounds crazy but the deluxe comes with 10 pieces of sushi, including fatty tuna (2 ways) and salmon belly. Also had chicken Katsu at the table which was quite good. A bunch of rolls, every one was happy. Excellent service. Decent prices(not cheap but fair) Highly recommend.

    SUSHI DELUXE

Easily and genuinely the best nigiri I've had in the DMV. The fish selection was top notch for the nigiri sets and they had very generous portions of fish. The fatty tuna was delicious and the shari was well-seasoned. Many places in this area have very little flavor in the shari, not here. Service was easy and relaxed with the button call system. It has a very relaxed atmosphere as well, not at all snooty. I will absolutely be back many times in the future. Great work, Chef!

Best sushi in town! I have tried several places in Ballston and Clarendon and Sushi Jip has won my stomach. We had a reservation but arrived 30 minutes early and were seated immediately. The waiter was responsive and knowledgeable of the menu. The decor was cute and the restaurant was clean.

Firstly, I ordered a miso soup not thinking they would include it in my order for free so that was such a pleasant surprise! Not all sushi places do this. Aside from that, the main thing being the sushi of course was fantastic!!! I did not know what to expect when I found this place on door dash on a whim but safe to say I have now found a new go to sushi place for me since I just moved to the area. It was packaged fantastically well, the freshness of the fish was perfect and the special roll I got had the best flavor. Also think the salmon combo I got was the perfect portion and for a great price. I can't wait to order from here again!

Found my go-to sushi spot in Arlington! I placed a takeout order online, and the process was smooth and easy. The inside has tons of clean lines and natural wood decor. Can't wait to return, dine in, and order all the dishes!

Brand new Japanese spot that replaced Endo Sushi in the bottom floor of the apartment building that I live in Even though this place is replacing another Japanese/sushi spot, I am overjoyed that it is here as it is 1000X better than the restaurant it is replacing The menu is comprehensive and has a wide variety of both sushi and non-sushi options, the food is all presented beautifully, and it is all very tasty as well It is a little on the pricey side, but definitely worth it IMO People are very friendly as well Menu is on a QR code Both indoor and outdoor seating

He walked me through the options and ordering was a breeze. The price point is a little higher than your average all you can eat dining experience, but well worth it. I must've had 15 pieces of nigiri. Having worked in a sushi restaurant I can tell you it was phenomenally well done. Beautifully fresh and buttery and the sushi rice was perfect. The eel kamameshi was a highlight and came with a showing amount of eel. Finished everything off with the matcha tiramisu and a cup of green tea. I won't need to eat for days. Will definitely be coming back! Thank you Kay and team!

The set- up and the ambiance is very comfortable and sleek/modern with the main sushi chefs in the middle and the tables around them. The tables have waiters and a tablet at the table like most hot pot/kbbq places and you can order everything off of there. I have only been here once and wanted to try to low tier without going "all in" on the top tier option of diamond without knowing how the basics would taste. Let me say if the bottom tier was as good as it was, I'm excited to come back to try the next tier! Anyway, the basic tier already comes with a lot of sushi options and should be enough for those who are craving just sushi. All of the cuts of nigiri was great, all tender with great flavor, but what stood out to me the most was actually the yellowtail, super buttery and great flavor. The eel was also a top choice! All the rolls were good basic to the fancier ones, I would say that most of the bang for the buck would be the nigiri. The rolls are good but a little too much rice for me personally. The appetizers, didn't spend too much time on them but the chicken karaage was solid and the seaweed salad was my two favorite. Overall, super solid for the price and I'd totally want to go again to try more of their options! 100% recommend!

We quickly realized that Toryumon's all-you-can eat is head and shoulders above your usual Asian buffet restaurants for three reasons: your food is cooked to order, Toryumon has great recipes, and lastly, they use quality ingredients. Service was fabulous. Lots of options on the all-you-can eat memu. We started out with miso soup that was rich, delicious and had just the right amount of seaweed and finely diced tofu. The kanji salad was outstanding, the best I've ever come across. We loved the pork gyoza, ceviche and shumai. I also loved the beef hibachi, which came with vegetables, fried rice, and a most delicious dipping sauce. I'm not sure how they prepared it, but the endamame was especially tasty. The agu dashi was different than we expected. Usually it comes in broth, but Toryumon's agu dashi was fried tofu squares with an excellent dipping sauce. The spider and double spicy rolls were decent, but were shaped too large and in a little rough around the edges in appearance. Flavorwise, they were still good. We were a bit disappointed that they had run out of the chocolate and vanilla mochi dessert, but we settled for the matcha motchi which was good.

When I came in for Tuesday lunch, I wondered why this place wasn't teeming with more young professionals?! I mean, Ballston Quarter serves up $14 platters, which is the same lunch special here. I was hungry so ordered the spring rolls appetizer AND one of the lunch specials (choose 2 sushi rolls + salad/soup) Spring Rolls - 6/10 They are actually fried and hot to the touch so be careful! I cut mine before eating. At $6, they are pretty decent value. Lunch Special Salad - 8/10 I loved the carrot miso vinagraitte on the iceberg lettuce. The only thing that would have made it better would be a nice crunch (toasted sesame seeds/wonton crisps) Shrimp Tempura Roll - 7.5/10 This is an elevated tempura roll with orange roe and eel sauce. Very filling as far as sushi rolls go. Salmon/Mango/Avocado Roll - 5/10 The rice layer on this roll was paper thin and the salmon tasted flat and flavorless, instead of that rich, buttery taste that high quality fresh salmon should have. On this visit, I noticed that the fillings are generous here but the rice is sparse/underseasoned on vinegar. I'd love to better appreciate the fine balance of the ingredients. Overall though, I enjoyed my meal. It is a strong spot and one that I would return to.

We ordered some kind of tonkatsu "bento box". It came with an excellent chicken katsu (loved the crunchy breading), udon, rice and a simple salad. This entrée also came with these interesting rice "balls" that were rice with a toasted slightly sweet exterior. I also ordered a toasted rice ball.
