Food excellent. Service is good. Ambiance is casual. This is a good weeknight spot. As another reviewer mentioned, if you sit upstairs your clothes will smell a little smoky, and it must be from the tempura dishes. This why I would not recommend it for date night or as a dinner option before going to your next evening event. You won't noticed the smell while you hear, but shortly after you get into your car you'll start to notice. This makes me just want to get home, and immediately put clothes in washer and take a shower. They offer takeout, and that would be a solid option even if you're going to picnic nearby. This is a great locals type of place, and a few blocks away from King St. Dinning time limited to 1 hour, but that's probably enough time and as long as you're eating/ordering they probably don't mind.

This was the perfect choice for a bachelorette dinner! We ordered takeout and this was so much food! The sushi platter, rolls, and yakisoba were all delicious! I can't speak for what the restaurant was like but it was crowded and full of people!

Momo sushi is a small but quaint sushi place near downtown Alexandria with some of the freshest sushi I've had in a while. I ordered the Hawaiian, the island tuna and veggie roll. Unfortunately I ate too fast for pictures - but as I mentioned the sushi was a delight. The fish was so fresh and flavorful. Our waitress was nice, service was quick, and kept our waters filled. Would go again!!

I love everything about Momo Sushi. They have an extensive menu with so many options for every palette. We particularly loved the sushi special offerings - standouts were the Dragon Roll and the Yami Yami roll. The service is also very quick and attentive. We also decided to do our own little beer tasting and the server happily accommodated our request for extra glasses. This is such a nice and cozy little date night spot or fun dinner spot before going out with friends!

I decided to try this spot for my birthday dinner last minute with my brother and was not disappointed! When you come inside it's rather small( a REAL hole in the wall spot), but well lit and super clean. We dined upstairs and enjoyed watching them prepare the food at the counter. So packed on a weekend, so we were lucky to get to be seated after coming from DC. Old town Alexandria has sushi but nothing like this place, they had outstanding service and fresh food. We both got a Japanese beer, miso soup to start and ordered quite a few rolls to share. Everything was great, came out within 15 minutes of ordering and our server was fantastic. We will be back next time we are in the area to try their lunch specials.

High quality fish, really friendly staff. Great little spot to dine in or take out! Love that the location is away from the business of king street but still conveniently in old town.

Momo was great! We street parked about 2 blocks away and walked in on a busy weeknight and were able to get seated immediately (lucky.) The inside is small, and the restroom is upstairs, so be prepared to climb one flight of stairs (kind of narrow and steep) to use the restroom. It was clean and the server was nice and the food came out fast! It was very cute inside and I'd definitely come back when I'm in town.

First time here and I would deffinitely come back here again. The service was nice and quick and staff were super helpful and sweet. Cute ambiance and decorated and super small place but all old town alexandria store are no different so I'm not surprise. There are two level and group with more than 3 I think are sent upstairs for bigger seating area. There is an a la carte menu which makes it easy to order. Each sashimi can come in 2 pcs and are cut THICK and sushi here is fresh which are two qualities in sashimi that most people look for. Each roll comes in 6 pcs. We order shrimp tempura, 2 pcs of sashimi, spider roll, salmon roll, california rolls... all were delicious and perfect in size. Price were not expensive as well. If you are in Old town, would recommend you to try this place.

This can't be the same sushi folks wrote five-star reviews for... because I'm not impressed. Maybe it's because I've eaten a lot of sushi in Cali? I'm not sure, but what I do know is that, for $57, I am absolutely not satisfied, and I'm about to offer this food up to anybody desperate for sushi. I'm not going to say this is the worst sushi I've ever had, but it's terrible, especially given the price point. I've never eaten rubbery fish on the top of my rolls, I have now. I ordered online for ASAP. I got to the restaurant and my order wasn't ready. It's fine. The order confirmation came through after I arrived to the restaurant 20 minutes after I placed my order. Oh well. I ordered the White House roll, seaweed salad, roll, and trio amigo roll. I also ordered Gyoza. The only thing that I would consider truly edible is the Geza. These roles have got to go. Slimy fish, small size, and general lack of flavor, I can't. Let me keep it a buck with you. I honestly could have satisfied my sushi craving more with a roll from one of those hibachi places that are popping up all over the place.

I will definitely be back. We ordered 3 roles, miso soup, and tea. Service was good too. Best sushi Ive had in Alexandria.

A friend recommended this spot and a coworker also mentioned this is her go-to sushi joint so I had to check it out--and it did not disappoint! I got the chirashi and everything was so fresh. Also love that they give pretty sizable pieces of fish. Very glad to have found a great sushi spot nearby my new neighborhood. Pretty sure this will be where I get my sushi from now!!

This sushi was fresh and delicious! The staff was so nice when I picked up my food, and it was very quaint inside.

Always enjoy Momo sushi! My first time dining in since the pandemic and it's just as good as I remember. The space is small so you may have to wait a bit, but the food comes out quickly. I got the salmon combo which is 6 pieces of salmon nigiri and 6 pieces of salmon cucumber roll, plus salad and miso soup. Definitely solid

In mid-November 2025, my friend was having a birthday celebration in Old Town Alexandria. He was originally picking some Italian place, Mia's, which we were looking forward to, but I think my friend tried to book a reservation too late, and the available times weren't at all good for him. So, he switched to Asian Bistro. I was thinking this wasn't going to be as good. I was skeptical because they were simply Asian Bistro and didn't focus on one cuisine like Chinese, Thai, etc. However, I was mistaken. The restaurant is small, but they accommodated for our large group albeit a bit tight. Server was friendly. My girlfriend & I decided to split Pad Thai & a couple of sushi rolls. Wow, this was one of the best Pad Thai I've had, and the sushi rolls were surprisingly great too. If in Old Town, this is a great option.

I stopped in for a quick lunch. it wasn't terribly busy aside from the friendly regulars who were eating at the table next to me. The service was timely and hospitable as I was able to order quickly and was offered drink refills pretty routinely throughout my time there. Their menu features appetizers like summer rolls, veggie gyoza, crab & chicken shumai, and entrees like lemongrass pan fried noodles, broccoli stir fry, pad thai, and lo mein with your choice of protein as prices range from about $10-$20 per item. I kept it simple and tried the fried rice with pork. Overall excellent dish: large portion size, a sufficient amount of protein, and a nice combination of ingredients with the shredded carrots, bell peppers, peas, scallions and onions. I'll certainly be returning to try out a few more of their menu items.

Perhaps it was being a patron during the winter when freshness is limited. Each dish we ate I rank below: 1) poached egg w/ blue crab dashi ankake (5/10) - the egg was cold and cooled the soup once the yolk was pierced which took away from the experience for me. The crab was good and it was supplemented by this corn-like kernel that was bitter and complemented the soup well. 2) seared wagyu with truffle shoyu (8/10) - seems to be a staple. Delicious. Wish there was more truffle since some pieces weren't as covered. Slightly cold but didn't take away from the experience. 3) otsukuri (sashimi) (8.5/10) - wish this was the majority of the meal. This was the part enjoyed most. A wide variety of fish. I would've enjoyed this more if it was not all served at once. 4) spanish octopus agedashi (8/10) - very delicious though the octopus pieces were very big and some too fatty. ' 5) prime fillet mignon w/ haccho miso graze (9/10) - amazing!! our favourite dish. served on a bed of eggplant and mozz cheese. The steak was perfectly cooked. 6) maple leaf duck noodle soup (3/10) - did not enjoy this dish. The broth was not savoury and the duck was far too gamey and fatty. Fortunately, we were stuffed so didn't eat this one. 7) housemade strawberry japanese fro yo (8/10) - refreshing and delicious Cocktails - 7/10 - very limited menu. We had one of the signature cocktails and a whisky. They were both light but lacked complexity. Most of the flavour was given way by the yuzu. Atmosphere - this is where the restaurant shines and I'd recommend going for a special date. It's a very intimate setting. About 10 people can be seated every time, and I believe there are two seatings each evening (6pm and 8:30pm). You are not rushed. We had the 8:30pm seating and lingered for almost 3 hours. It was an excellent environment conducive to conversation. We sat at the bar and saw the one-man show, the chef, prepare all the food. He had a haughty energy, very focused, and unsmiling. He gave the aura of a trained culinary genius. This was nicely contrasted with the one server, a charming and smiling individual. The place is not fancy - I do think it could've been nicer - but I believe it is the most authentic Japanese restaurant you'll find in all the DMV. I would highly recommend to everyone interested in fine Japanese cuisine.
