It is not easy task taking care of 25 picky eaters. But we were all pleased with their food and services. I contacted owner a month ahead to plan for the luncheon. The communication went smooth and everything was ready for us. One staff took care all of us. Food was great, not mention the generous portion. Basically, it's ok sushi. It's close to home. Roll sizes are modest. The taste is good, but there are significant issues with carry-out ordering. WATCH OUT FOR 20% "TIP ADDED TO ORDER FOR PICK-UP. Leave a gratuity for handing you a bag if you want. I would generally give a buck or two. However, adding 20% is insulting; there is no justification for increasing the amount based on the total order when the service was already paid for online. There wasn't even a cashier involved. The only extra effort was to have your order. If they want more money for their product, they should raise their prices. A tip should be a voluntary reward to the wait staff and an incentive for good service. read more

We have been coming here for years. We always eat in. There's something to be said for consistency in the restaurant business. Food has always been good from the yummy gyoza on grilled onions in a cast iron skillet (I usually ask for the onions to be well done because I like them burnt) to the sushi to the udon noodles. Service has always been courteous. It's in a strip plaza, but the inside is nice and the place is clean. It's a regular on our rotation and that's saying a lot for us. read more

I came here thinking this place would be an amazing hole in the wall, but was pretty disappointed by the fish quality and the rolls they offered. Most rolls had a sweet sauce added such as the eel sauce, and another mayo based sauce. Don't get me wrong, eel sauce can be good on certain rolls, but that mayo sauce was just too much for me. I was looking for something a little more authentic when it came to the rolls. The variety in eggs on top of the sushi was great tho. The sushi did taste fine, but I was a disappointed they didn't have salmon toro. After eating, I did have stomach issues right after which to me indicated that I either consumed too much sugar with the rolls or that the fish was possibly not as fresh. The quality of the fish at this place is better than any other I have tried in the Tampa Bay Area. As you can see in the picture- the Tuna is a deep purple versus a reddish pink. It tastes decadent and has no ocean taste. With that being said- the service received (initially) was nothing short of awful. When I entered the restaurant the female owner was at the host stand. Nobody else was present at the time. I said hello and she did not look up at me or greet me. I paused for a few seconds and said hello again and she did not look at me. I proceeded to walk in the restaurant to meet my friend who was already there and who had ordered a roll. The same female owner of the restaurant was her server. My friend was practically in tears because the woman was so rude and short with her. I observed her treating the staff horribly and yelling at them. We requested a change in wait staff because despite the amazing food- the service put a major damper on our dining experience. Our new server was a really polite and efficient young man. In sum, the food here is really excellent. The prices are fair given the quality of the fish. However I may be inclined to do take out next time as the lady who owns the place was nothing short of rude and off putting to myself and my friend. read more

Came here for dinner with a friend. We got here shortly after they opened on a Friday. We were seated immediately in a booth. The menu was extensive with lots of options and variety. Service was excellent. Took a little bit in the end to get our check but it allowed us to chat. I ordered the Super Rainbow Roll, the Todd's Special Roll, and the Devil Ray Roll. The Super Rainbow Roll is a crunchy spicy tuna roll with tuna, yellow tail, salmon, white meat fish, shrimp, krab with 4 kinds of roes, spicy mayo and eel sauce on top. I swapped the spicy tuna out for regular tuna. The Todd's Special Roll is krab tempura, cream cheese, and avocado, w/ crunch chips, eel sauce, spicy mayo & yummy sauce on top. The Devil Ray Roll is eel, cream cheese, and avocado with eel sauce. All three rolls were phenomenal! Very fresh and flavorful! Will definitely be back to try more rolls! read more

It is over nine years since my first review of this restaurant. Oh, how the mighty have fallen! I don't know if it had a change of ownership or what else might've been involved, but the quality of the sushi itself has deteriorated, and the service certainly has deteriorated and is very non-- Japanese. I love the panko coating on the fish in the Tampa roll - which is the best in the area! They have a really great lunch special that gets you two rolls and a soup or salad for $12. Dinner or lunch box - another great value if you're looking to sample some items. It comes with gyoza, harumaki, tempura veggies and shrimp, half a California roll, and your entree of choice. You can even upgrade to a full roll of your choice which is what I usually do. I've tried the beef bulgogi, chicken teriyaki, and yummy chicken and all have been delicious! Service: Service can definitely be hit or miss with this place and it seems to be a staffing issue. We've been recently and have waited a while for service so this may not be the place for a quick sit-down meal. However, they do offer takeout and the food is just as good to-go. This restaurant is located in the Bardmoor Promenade Shopping Mall. The mall is in the southeast corner of the intersection of Bryan Dairy Rd. and Starkey Rd. (Keene Rd.). The interior is clean and nicely appointed. Being our first visit, we wanted to try a selection of items so we ordered the "Love Boat for Two". It came with soup and salad. It contained 12 pieces of sashimi, 8 pieces of sushi and two rolls. The rolls that came with our boat were the Mexican Roll and the House Special Roll. The rolls were tasty but a bit small. Overall, the service was friendly and attentive as well as the food being quite tasty. All of the seafood was fresh and delicious. We will definitely be back soon! read more

We have been going here for years. Waited for a pickup of a Mexican Roll and a Kabuki Roll. Both rolls contain shrimp tempura. Both rolls contained "refrigerator cold" shrimp. The taste was good but what a disappointment. They have always served fresh tempura in the past. I hope this is not the new norm. I got there a bit early for dinner and made my choices quickly. I went with the goyza and the sushi sashimi dinner. The gyoza was served on a sizzling plate with onions that smelled delicious. Each bite had a ton of flavor and was perfectly crispy. Some of the best I've ever had. Fantastic. The sushi sashimi dinner was much larger than I expected but I enjoyed every piece. The fish was fresh and great quality. The service was fantastic, I can't say enough about what a great experience I had. I'm excited to go back and try more of their menu. read more

My guy took me here for a date night and I was rightly impressed. The food was AMAZING! The atmosphere was relaxing and warm, almost comforting. It was just what you wanted. Cozy and charming. I had their Pork Fried rice and the Goyza, both were DELICIOUS. The Goyza were fresh and tasty! They were perfection. I ended up only being able to eat about 1/3rd of the rice, so I took it home only to eat it later in the evening. This is on the Must return list. read more

Ordered takeout for dinner tonight. I was sad that they didn't have Uni (sea urchin) on the menu but I made do. I ordered the Rainbow roll, spicy scallop hand roll, and salmon sushi. I was told it would take 30 minutes so I came 40 minutes later. When I came in, it seems the staff was quite overwhelmed as the person at the register did not acknowledge me for a few minutes as she started cashing out dine-in customers. I was disappointed to hear my food would take another 10 minutes which was a little shocking because I can't imagine how long it would've taken had I been a dine-in customer. The fish itself was very fresh but unfortunately the rice was a little dry and hard. The avocado on my Rainbow roll seemed to be just thrown on. The spicy scallop roll was just okay. I understand that they were probably busy with the Memorial Day weekend about to start so I would definitely try them out again and hope to get a better experience. read more
