Small and cute! I love the fengshui! I ordered a cup of green tea, which was divine. The gyoza was crispy and tender, while the chicken yaki udon tasted fresh and savory; a very nice flavor . The noodle ratio to chicken and vegetables was pretty balanced. The waitresses were so kind and helpful. My total was around 25 dollars. I will be back for their sushi because i noticed a lot of patrons were eating sushi. read more

We eat in this place last year when we were in town , the lunch bento box was pretty good , so this time gonna try their dinners it said close at 10 pm so we had close to one hour to eat a bowl of Ramen so should not be any problem, but the moment we walk in , the waitress said you only have 30 min. It was 9:05 ! Ok no problem just order a Tonkasu ramen , then more people walk in but the waitress didn't have any issues with them ,then the noodles comes looks good but the broth was totally blend and no taste no flavors,must went out of broth and just add more water , and the noodles were over cook and soggy absolutely the worst ramen I ever had , don't go there for dinner maybe lunch but go early read more

Felt like staying in and ordered Umai Cafe for take-out delivery on our last night in Sand Key. We both ordered a teriyaki bento box and we're pleasantly surprised by the amount of food+sides and overall quality. The miso soup was so soothing, the tempura batter perfection, and the California-roll alternative was a delicious imitation crab + crunchy flakes combo. My beef teriyaki was tender and I really enjoyed the teriyaki sauce. Falls in my realm of comfort food after several days of eating American/casual poolside. I've read good reviews of Umai being a favorite local spot and I can see why. Definitely filled our craving for Japanese/Asian cuisine while on vacation in FL! read more

I came in for lunch and got a seat right away. The staff was very quick to bring me water and take my order when I was ready. The lunch special was a good deal, I got 3 sushi rolls and they were all delicious. I would for sure come back here if I were in the area again. read more

Wow, can't believe I haven't left a review. I think it's cause I'm here all the time. This is my local go to spot and great for your everyday sushi or light date night out. Service is great, food is always been spot on, prices are pretty reasonable really nothing to complain about here except the occasional homeless in downtown Clearwater on your walk over I've been here, probably north of 15 times I don't think I've ever had a bad experience read more

The food was great!! HOWEVER the dining experience was terrible. Our hostess sat us and left us there roughly for 30 min , we had to ask if we can order. I didn't know we had to ask to order. When we finally were ordering, she had rushed us and had a bad attitude. When my friends got their miso soup, they didn't like how the flavoring was so one asked if she could switch out for the salad. Oh boy did the host to sit there and get upset that she snatched away the soup, tried to take my salad so I had to tell her to put my salad down and she just threw salad dressing into my friends salad bowl to where it was leaking all on the side of the bowl and then she tossed it on the table. From that point on we were too afraid to ask for anything else. We were 40 minutes late with going back to work from my lunch because we kept getting ignored. I would recommend takeout over dining Inn because again the food is wonderful, but the lack of customer service makes a horrible experience. read more

I love this place. They have a very good quality food and the place is right in downtown Clearwater with a big parking for this plaza. I love to order to go food, it's always ready in 10-15 min and no mistakes in orders. I love their place. It's small but cozy. And prices are very competitive. read more

Overall a very underwhelming experience. Our waitress was very inattentive and seemed a bit disorganized. Took a while to even put in our drink order and then our food sat in the window for a while before it was brought to our table. The food itself was mediocre. For the price and location, I was expecting a lot higher quality. The balance of ingredients in the rolls weren't very complimentary to each other. Don't think I'll return. read more

Ordered Umai Cafe from Uber eats (which I don't usually use due to high fees and what they take from businesses) however it has been a LONG DAY. I decided to go with two rolls plus a seaweed salad which all arrived well and intact. I went with the Samurai roll and Ichiban roll after reading some reviews. Between the two, I ordered the Ichiban roll which had a lot of flavor and crunch which was a perfect combo. The rolls were definitely pricey at $18 for the Ichiban and $16 for the Samurai but definitely marked up due to Uber Eats. The seaweed salad was a good size for the price and delicious. Both rolls had extremely fresh fish and traveled well considering. Overall, I wish the rolls were a few dollars cheaper but the quality of the fish was excellent. The samurai roll didn't blow me away so I'll try a different option next time. Highly recommend the Ichiban roll and looking forward to my next visit! read more

I am not sure what happened to this place, it used to be my favorite sushi spot. New management? I have never received a plate of sushi that had a pungent fishy odor. Ate it anyway thinking maybe I am just overreacting - the eel tasted incredibly fishy it was inedible. The sushi doesn't appear fresh anymore. The miso soup is so underwhelming. Food aside, they are serving plastic cups and dirty dishes now. So unfortunate - tmake my favorite roll of all time. But don't think I will be returning read more

I don't know how this place has such good reviews. I thought it was terrible. The coconut roll didn't have much flavor and I can't remember the name of the other roll but it had a strange flavor to it. I think it was the chili sauce. The presentation was bleh and the service wasn't great either. Not very helpful knowing we'd never been there before. The only reason I give it 2 stars is the shrimp tempura was ok. I wish we would have gone somewhere else. read more

Decided to go by for ramen for a late dinner. We also tried some sake and the kani appetizer. The staff was friendly and helpful, but wasn't really able to explain questions we had about the sake. The food was served hot and quickly, but that's really the end of the good things. We ordered the traditional ramen, hoping the reviews were just skewed a bit. Unfortunately, they were right on. The broth appeared more like miso and the shredded kelp was not complimentary at all. In fact it smelled weird and tasted, well, it just wasn't good. The pork was extremely thinly sliced, there were a decent amount of veggies, and the ramen noodles looked like they came out of a ramen noodle package. Just... don't. Craving ramen? Don't come here. Think you'll have better luck? Just keep on driving to somewhere else. Don't pass go. Don't collect $200. Keep on trucking to the next spot for ramen. read more

I'm so surprised that anyone would give less than 5 stars for their sushi. Literally phenomenal. To give you a comparison, Ken Sushi is my favorite spot for high quality sushi but Umai really takes it for quality and price. I got the Sunshine roll, sake nigiri, hamachi nigiri and escolar nigiri. The quality and just how fresh the sushi is mind blowing. The fish melts in your mouth. My favorite out of then all would be the hamachi. I will probably literally just order a whole plate of that next time. I devoured my food in less than 15 minutes. The Sunshine rolls is nice take on the Rainbow roll except there's spicy tuna inside. I had really high hopes for this restaurant as I'm trying to find the best tasting tonkotsu in the area. I tried the pork ramen and it was just ok. Very bland. Not the traditional bone broth.The reason I gave it two stars was because of the service. The lady was really nice and attentive. The overall feel of the restaurant is pretty laid back and casual. In Clearwater for a few days, and looking for a good sushi place and this came up. After reading the reviews, we decided to come here and were not disappointed. It's a small restaurant but definitely the sushi selection was great. We got seated pretty quickly with the friendly staff- and they gave us a few moments to go over the menu. The staff was real nice. We wanted to change the combo a little, the waitress went to chef and asked if it was possible to do and they didn't have any issues changing around one of the appetizers for us. The spicy crab salad was great. Definitely had a kick to it! After we ordered and were waiting for our sushi/ and appetizers to come out the chef gave us some chef special rolls which were really good. Some white tail rolls. Yum! I really recommend the Sunset roll so good. I am sure all there rolls are amazing but this was my favorite and really recommend it. All the fish in the sushi were fresh, and actual chunks. (I hate when sushi restaurants use mushy stuff; it ruins the flavor) read more

Stopped in here for a bite to eat on a random Wednesday night. We arrived around 9 and it was not very busy, which is good because this is a pretty small place. I have been a big fan of nigiri lately, this place did not disappoint. 2 pieces cost about $5, but you get a very decent size piece of fish, bigger then most places around here. You get much more meat then rice with each bite. We also ordered a few sushi rolls to split. The ichiban roll was amazing, my friend was a regular here and recommended it, glad I listened, you should to! One thing I did not like was the plum wine, it was much sweeter then me and my gf are used to (yes we've had it quite a few times). But I won't let that reflect my rating since the food was so good. The Deep End is on the 11th floor. Since it was super windy out, they had the high-tech premium screen windshields down, so you couldn't really see the exterior, including the water views and the Gulf. You can't really hear the wind noise either these were high tech sun windscreens. We have the Shishido peppers and they were absolutely delicious. Definitely a must get when you order anything at this place. My better half got the corn and it was OK. I wouldn't order that again. He also got a number of different drinks that I also would never order here, including the passion martini. I would just stick to the usual original drinks such as the bloody Mary, daiquiris. We both like this strawberry basil Collins drink. That was the highlight of the night that my better half and I both agree since we don't agree on much when it comes to food and drinks lol. I wish the drinks would have garnish in them such as mint leaves, slices of oranges, etc. They have french fries here that are thin, just like McDonald's fries and they're absolutely delicious. I will get these every time when I come here. I can't wait until it gets warmer out, and I would come here for a late lunch and just soak in the view

For our meals, we ordered the Chimi Filet, Tuna Poke Bowl, and the Gulfview Salad with added grilled chicken. I enjoyed my Tuna Poke Bowl; it was filling and tasted good, but for the price, it could have included more tuna. The value didn't quite match the cost. One friend felt the steak was just okay and didn't care for the chimichurri sauce. Another ordered the Gulfview Salad with grilled chicken for an additional $13, which felt excessive. The chicken was average and didn't justify the added cost. The service was mixed. While our waitress started strong, it declined as the night went on. I wanted to order the Vegetable Bao Buns as my meal, but the waitress repeatedly told me they were an appetizer, despite me explaining that was what I wanted. I ended up ordering the poke bowl instead, but the interaction was frustrating and should not have occurred. The biggest issue was when we received our checks--our waitress never returned. After waiting over 30 minutes and asking another server for help, we were finally able to pay. During that time, other tables that arrived after us had already left. Overall, I would return for drinks and appetizers, but not for a full meal.

Unfortunately, when she did come to the table, she seemed extremely rushed and it came across a little rude. I had several questions about gluten-free precautions, and every time I asked something she quickly said "yes" without really explaining. We ordered the Millionaire Bacon, oysters and the octopus as appetizers since both were listed on the gluten-free menu. I specifically explained that both needed to be prepared gluten-free. On the menu, it even notes in parentheses what needs to be removed to make certain dishes gluten-free. When the appetizers arrived, I noticed the octopus still had the red sauce that the menu said must be removed. I stopped our waitress as she rushed by, and she quickly said it was gluten-free and walked away. My husband had just put some in his plate when the server, who had brought the food out, came back and asked if we had eaten any yet because it had not been made gluten-free. He immediately took it back and returned with a gluten free one. When I mentioned it to our waitress, though, she kind of just shrugged it off. For dinner, I had the seafood bowl, and my daughter, who also eats gluten-free, had the salmon with potatoes au gratin. My son and his girlfriend got sushi, and my husband had the fish Clearwater style. Everything looked great when it came out, and I double-checked that my meal was gluten-free. The server confirmed it was. Overall, the food tasted really good. The only issue was my daughter's potatoes au gratin there was so much grease pooled on top that she ended up not eating it because they were basically inedible and her salmon was over cooked and had zero seasoning. Overall, our meal was good. The restaurant was packed, and we were disappointed that we missed the chance to sit outside and watch the sunset, but that was obviously due to the rain and not the restaurant's fault.
