This spot is in the marketplace. While there is some seating in the marketplace, it's definitely a pick and go situation. I've ordered sushi to go from the case next to their register a number of times, and ordered a more robust meal this week. I ordered the ikura nigiri, unagi nigiri, and the beluga roll (tuna, tempura shrimp, cucumber, topped with white tuna and sauces). It was good! It was solid, prepared fairly quickly, and I enjoyed it. Can't speak to service too much as it's not a sit-down situation, but everyone has been friendly!

The sushi was fresh and by no means did they skimp out on fish. My son and I shared a lunch salmon box featuring 4 salmon nigiri, 4 pieces of salmon roll and 3-4 pieces of salmon sashimi and it was about $18-$20 which is fine, although this spot is more of a kiosk with the boxes in a refrigerator case vs made fresh to order. It's located in the Alameda marketplace, so you order and then you either take it to go, or you can find a table/seat at the public seating the other restaurants share, and there is a few tables outside. Service wasn't necessarily with a smile, but again, quick, sufficient and the fish was good. While I wouldn't necessarily go out of my way for it, if you're jonesing for sushi and need to pick up some goods at this food hall style spot, it works.

Located inside a plaza with lots of other restaurants, sushi king is next to green and grains. Service is nice and friendly. The ambiance is a little kiosk with bar seating. More so a grab and go spot. I got the unagi roll and California roll and it was fresh and fulfilled my appetite.

It's honestly not bad for what it is. I don't ever come here because it's inside a supermarket next to a couple of other places to eat. Barely any parking or places to sit. But if you need a quick take out spot, this is not bad. They have sushi sitting out in their fridge you can pick from right away if you're in a rush. I haven't tried those yet and to be honest, it doesnt matter where I'm at, I don't think I'd ever pick sushi from a fridge like that. They also have a menu you can look at and order from, those they make on the spot. I saw a mango roll on the menu and was instantly a sucker for it. The other roll I got was an A's roll. I finished both rolls and was perfectly full from it so it was average sized in terms of potions The rolls came out pretty fast and was average. If you're ever in need of a quick sushi fix and in a rush, this is a good spot. You can even go grocery shopping after.

Still my favorite, casual, takeout sushi spot after at least 20 years. The quality of sushi and friendliness of the staff keeps me coming back. Not sure why the ratings are so low, but whatever. More sushi for me then! Our family loves Sushi King!

We have been coming here for 10+ years. They are always friendly. Quality of the food is excellent and the prices are good. It is very casual -- order to go or sit directly at the sushi bar or the eating area for the Marketplace.

Good sushi bowl. Half rice, half greens underneath. Comes with good avocado, ginger, seaweed salad, marinaded salmon & ahi tuna. Good cuts of fish and healthy portion. Would recommend as a quick, yummy and cute location surrounded by other vendors.

Although the donburi originally caught his eye, we ended up ordering sushi instead. As someone who finally got over the texture issue of sushi, I've been eating more of it and loving it. Hayashi had such fresh fish and a wonderful plating. Is it pricey? Yes, but most sushi places are nowadays. We did spend over $100 on food but we were stuffed and enjoyed every bite. My friend made sure I tried things I'd never had before! They also gave us free scoops of ice cream at the end. The service was terrific. A lady came and took our order on an electronic pad and our food came out fairly quickly. The interior is about the same as the precious donburi restaurant that owned it but comfortable regardless. The bathroom was also clean. We stopped in for dinner with some out-of-town family during the Christmas holiday, and the whole experience was utterly delightful. The staff were warm and welcoming, the ambiance was pleasant, and (most importantly) the food was EXCELLENT. I neglected to get pics of everything we ordered, but my Tofu Don (teriyaki tofu with ground pork and eggs over rice) was incredibly tasty - the perfect "comfort food" for a cold rainy evening. I can't say enough about how lovely and kind the staff were. They went way beyond simply taking our order and serving our food - rather, they made us feel like family, treated us to dessert, and even sent us home with a small bottle of sake as a thank you for dining with them. This place is new and probably a bit under the radar at the moment, but it really deserves to become one of the must-try joints in Alameda. Check it out ASAP!

Kamakura was one of my favorite Japanese restaurants and I was sad when they had to close, then glad when this place opened! It's brighter with more natural light than Kamakura used to be. It's a pretty filling meal and comes with salad and miso soup. The staff here are all very friendly. The waitress came by with a dish of mango ice cream at the end, along with plum wine (homage to Kamakura?) We don't drink so we politely declined the wine, but the ice cream was delicious!

We like…read moreto try to find something near residential and walk, but even then it can get frustrating to find a parking spot. Once you walk into the restaurant, there's indoor and outdoor seating available. The outdoor seating is covered by a patio, and on colder days, I'm assuming they will put a heater out there? I'm not too sure, since I don't actually eat outside often. Indoor is well lit up, and has a decent amount of seating. The biggest table I have seen seats around 6 people, but can be more if you have small children I suppose. We mostly order the rolls here, and to be fair, it's a decent pricing. However, it is a hit or miss. 1. Lion King - Decent. Taste all the same everywhere you go if you ask me. 2. Deep Fried Spicy Tuna - Must have, definitely my favorite. 3. Golden Gate - More on the saucy side with imitation crab meat, it's basic. 4. Dragon Roll - Again, same anywhere you go. 5. Double Salmon Roll - Salmon on the inside, salmon on the outside. Cheaper alternative than to just getting nigiri or salmon sashimi. The customer service here is not the best in my opinion. The first time we took a friend there for his birthday, and it was terrible. The host, waiter/server, and manager disregarded us. However, a table next to us got the friendliest treatment. The type of treatment you give when you expect them to come back so you can address them by their name. The second time we've been here, the customer service was basic. No expectations, just take your order, serve, and a simple question of how is everything. Honestly, customer service could have been much more reasonable at even the most basic level. Overall, the food is ok. I wouldn't say it's like the best, but if you're here for lunch or a quick bite, it's fine.

It was filling and we really enjoyed the different fish. We ordered both types of uni (Santa Barbara and Hokkaido) - the Hokkaido uni was our favorite! Be sure to ask the chef for their opinion too if you can't decide. The soup and the salad with the omakase was good - the dressing for the salad was pretty yummy too, though probably could've used a tiny bit less of it! I think with all the add-ons we really ran up the bill, but it was still really good, unrushed service, and just a nice peaceful spot for our group to catch up. Overall, definitely recommend for omakase in the area and extra plus that it is in a plaza so parking isn't an issue like some of the other popular places in Alameda.

We were greeted as soon as we walked in and were seated where the cushion chairs were. Then we scanned a QR code on the table and started a group order/tab. I was looking for some comfort food during these gloomy days so I ordered the Japanese curry with katsu which came with miso soup. Our food was served through a robot was pretty cool! Other cushion seat tables were also not wiped down and the cushion seats had crumbs and stains on them. A family came in and their high top table was wiped down . We also didn't have any napkins in our holder so I did have to get up and grab it from another table. But I would come back and try this place again, maybe during the weekend.
