Sushi legend is my go to for AYCE sushi for one reason - it consistently teeters between mediocre and good. I've never really had a bad experience with any of their dishes, service is super fast and the price is fair. Can't ask for much more at an AYCE place. Lunch on a weekend is 23.99, which is great. Soft drink included. We try to make a reservation each time because it's always packed. We load up on salmon nigiri each time and it's always consistently good quality. Haven't been to Sushi Legend since they first opened (around 3+ years ago now?) and I forgot how much I enjoy it there! The prices have gone up (not surprised) but not much else has changed. When you first walk in, there is a tablet to enter in your name and number to reserve your spot in line. Not sure when they brought that in but it's a really nice addition! I went in at a good time, just before the dinner rush on a weekday, so I just got seated right away. It got packed within 30 minutes of sitting there though. Once seated, our table was pretty filthy. Like if you put your phone down and tilted the table sideways, your phone would adhere and not fall off. The table looked like it was polka dotted with sticky spots of soya sauce and who knows what else... :S Our hostess walked off pretty quickly after seating us and it was hard to flag down someone to wipe it down so we just made due with our hand sanitizer and napkins. I really like ordering by tablet. It's quick and efficient. Unlike my previous few times going there, it was a glitch-free experience. Yay! The orders all went in without a hitch, nothing was forgotten or double up'ed. The service after putting in our orders was FAST. We were hungry enough that it was coming as fast as we were finishing eating it, it was a great pace! Most servers seemed polite, some even saying "you're welcome" after thanking them for whatever service action was happening at the time. I enjoy that on top of sushi items you can also get a substantial amount of other types of food to order as well. Some food highlights of our order were: spicy scallop roll, yuzu salmon sashimi, torched white tuna nigiri, grilled sanba, grilled beef ribs, and salmon sashimi. Some food low points: the spicy salmon roll was so oddly subdued in spice (to lets say) compared to the spicy scallop roll, salmon nigiri salmon pieces were basically like a sheer lingerie topping on some rice @_@ So overall, I was satisfied. I could have lived without the dirty table to start with (prob would've tried harder to flag someone if I wasn't so hungry to start with. I'm sure those soya sauce spots would've looked appetizing not too shortly afterwards...but still! Minus a star) and the couple of food low points were not a big deal in the long run. The food was very good and there were about 6 of us, but there was no sign anywhere saying it had to be like 2hr dining or anything. Towards the end of us eating, they kept rushing us and we were only there about maybe an hr and a half and they were rushing us to do a last order. We were still waiting on food or desserts to come out. My friend ordered a roll twice and we never got it or were ever told they didn't have it or anything. Great place to go with co workers. There are not many AYCE sushi places that are opened and still have reasonable prices. Orders are made through I pad, and tables are quite spacious as we sat at the booth. Food comes quickly and quality still the same as pre-covid when I went. Very good food. We aren't from Toronto and were in the mood for sushi and looked up sushi near the area. This popped up and definitely satisfy our cravings. We were also able to eat some food that we haven't had before. The sashimi was fresh and the beef steak were absolutely delicious. I love sushi and I'm here with friends for the AYCE dinner tonight at this Chartwell Shopping Centre location. Lots of free parking. Plenty of seating and the wait was only a few minutes after entering a reservation into the computer display just inside the front entrance. The restaurant decor is nice. Forget about a paper menu as technology ordering is done using an iPad provided at the time of seating. Just scroll through (168) different menu offerings complete with photos and select away from sashimi, sushi, tempura, roll, deep fried, rice, and grill options. Pop was included in our $30.95 meal; tax and tip extra. Staff are friendly and prompt in clearing the table so you can order more. We sampled so much this evening and gave this AYCE Sushi Legend a solid four stars overall! read more

This Sushi legend is located in the Chartwell shopping center so it's in a perfect location. The inside is very nice and very spacious. I came here with my friend that I hadn't seen in 2 years and we came for the all-you-can-eat lunch special. We didn't have one waiter rather we had a bunch of people serving us which I had no problem with, it made for an interesting experience. One downside is that they didn't serve alcohol. I guess they don't have their LLBO as of yet. We had ordered a couple rolls and some tempura veggies which were tasty but the rolls were mediocre. I had the avocado hand roll and the avocado rolls, the avocado was definitely on the ripe side but I still enjoyed it. I know they're super busy during the lunch rush so it's hard to make everything look presentable perhaps hiring more chefs would do the trick. read more

Cooked food section, tried the chicken katsu, diced beef, grilled beef short ribs, grilled beef sirloin, sweet potatoe tempura, deep fried cream cheese wonton, deep fried dumplings, takoyaki, chicken wings, fish, fried scallop, shrimps, fried sushi roll and spider crab roll. Impressive AYCE, with highlights including scallop sashimi on Fri-Sun and a spacious grand dining room. Their baked scallop was great and their torched sushi was tasty as well. Loved the salmon tataki. Dessert was done well to top it off! Lots of options and variety for the whole group. I would say this is the best value in terms of price you can get. Only downside was after the first order, the second order of food took a long time to arrive while tables around us kept on getting orders. Sushi Legend is my favourite AYCE sushi restaurant. I prefer this location over the Leslie and Finch one. They serve a variety of foods that all can be ordered from the comfort of your table on an iPad. Their pop is unlimited as well, but you have to order through your server. Their sashimi is great in comparison to their rolls. I don't tend to order rolls that often so I would not be able to give a proper insight. Their scallop sashimi is only available on Friday to Sunday and holidays. They offer cooked dishes as well such as teriyaki chicken, beef, and salmon, chicken wings, mussels, enoki, ramen, fried rice, tempura, shrimp and more. They have a small selection of vegetables that I order from, I generally get okra, mushroom and the mixed vegetables. My family enjoys the grilled samma and eggplant very much. They are generally really busy so it is best to make reservations. Big groups are definitely welcomed since it is a big restaurant. The servers are quick to collect your empty dishes as well as bring your orders. Parking is not too bad as they have a big lot out front. But be careful of bad parking customers as I have witness a hit and run before. (Don't worry I reported it to the owner and it was only one time!) Came here around 1pm on a Sunday and it was packed. I entered my phone # on the touch screen at front but decided to leave. (Received a msg 25 mins after said our table was ready but I replied to cancel) Came here again on Christmas day at 11am, 3rd in line and we were quickly seated. Staff are friendly, good food. I liked their grill beef ribs, agedashi tofu, shrimp fried rice and mango yogurt. Price are reasonable and they didn't miss any of our orders. You can order through the iPad and it includes free soft drinks. There is a lot of variety of items on the menu. Special items include: scallops, Quail, "shark fin" soup, Lychee dessert. It was very clean inside and modern looking. We were seated in a timely manner and ordered off iPads. We ordered the Maki pencil box salmon Teriyaki bento box and beef short ribs bento box. Quite good portion sizes for lunch time and what they charge. Tempura was a bit on the soggy side. Dipping sauce was like a sweet soya sauce. Not your typical dipping sauce which I did not like. My buddy came in from out of town for the Tony Robbins event. In order to celebrate we decided to stuff our faces! I love that here you get to order off the iPad. There is no delay waiting for the server. There is no judgement from the server when you want six of everything. It just all shows up. The service is excellent. The staff is very friendly. Unlike most ayce spots this one doesn't include tip. Also if you're going late be careful because last order is 45mins before close. Also don't overlook the teryaki beef. Came to Sushi Legend on a Friday afternoon for a late lunch and had a good experience. I don't frequent AYCE that often but I won't mind coming back again if my friends invite me to join. Give yourself a lot of time. Even coming here on a Friday after 2:30 the service was still a little slow. It took us a hour and a half to finish our lunch. All the food we ordered took awhile to arrive and we were also served with food that we did not order. I do like how their rolls and sushi are not a mega piece of rice ball. They were small bite size piece and at least you won't be overdose with carb. So if you are a big eater, you can order more pieces of different varieties. Hot food is decent too. The tempura shrimp though as of small size but tasted fresh and not mushy. The beef ribs was well prepared. There are also quite a good selection of dessert all served in mini portion. Good thing you can try quite a few of them but they all just sloppy prepared. This was the first place I ever tried sushi, and I guess it's that sentiment I keep going back (or ordering it on Uber eats). If you want to eat some high quality sushi in a convenient location, this is the place to go. It's typically always busy and there's usually a short wait time but I think the heavy demand just shows the high level of food quality and service. I wouldn't say their menu is the broadest I've seen, and one time I went they didn't even have pop, but the items they do have are all amazing and the service is very prompt as well. The ambience is also quite pleasant when there isn't a large crowd waiting at the door. Dinner price for AYCE on a weekend is $34.99+tax. I came here on a Sunday night around 5:30pm. I made a reservation beforehand and was seated right when we arrived. The menu is just ok, nothing special. For $35 you would expect quite a few options instead of just the basics, but that's not the case here. There aren't many options compared to other AYCE restaurants. The maki rolls and sashimi tasted fresh, however the sashimi pieces were very tiny compared to other sushi restaurants. The meat dishes were cold by the time they came to our table which makes me think they were cooked in advance and have been sitting around until they were ordered. Overall this place is decent. I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here again. It's a little pricey, but if you're in the area it's not a bad place to try out. read more

I've driven past this place several times and decided it was time to try it. I came here with a friend for lunch. Nice place. Very spacious, with high ceilings, nice lighting, and nice decor. Ordering was done through an iPad. It was convenient, with pictures of each dish. Descriptions would have been a nice touch. The food started arriving shortly after. The first couple of dishes, miso soup and salad, were quite salty but things got progressively better from there. In the end, we were happy with the food and were quite stuffed. I am writing this review based on the two times I have come here. Once as a two person party, and the second time as a 16 person party. As a two person party, we came without reservations, so the wait was about 20 minutes to half an hour. Which is not too bad of a wait. 16 person party, definitely need to make a reservation for the meal. For both meals we came on at a dinner time in a weekend. Both experiences with a larger party and a smaller dining party were great, seated quickly, and given the menu (2 menus for our larger party). The menu is very typical of AYCE sushi now with the iPad. Which is convenient especially if there is a larger party. The food came relatively fast from when we ordered. Food here is actually of great quality (that was one of the reasons why I suggested such a large party to come here.) Our 16 person party consisted of older and younger, so there were food choices that could fit all ages. Sashimi is a must, rolls, and a lot of hot food choices. The hot food choices were actually good too! My fave was the scallop sashimi is so sweet and fresh. Not a lot of places are able to achieve that. Most importantly? Unlike other AYCE locations I have been to, they don't judge you for ordering 40 pieces of salmon sashimi. You order it, it comes. What does it mean to judge? You order 40 and they give you 20. So major thumbs up for that. One down side is that due to the popularity of this location, the seating time is really limited to what they tell you. They don't really push you to leave around the time limit, but you would feel bad seeing all those people standing at the door waiting for you. I would not recommend this place. I came to try this place because Matsuda doesn't open for lunch for ayce until 3. The food here is so bland, you can smell the dish soap throughout the whole time i was eating there. i don't even know if the smell comes from the table or the dishes they use for the food. The sushi is not fresh at all ( my stomach is not feeling well after), the rice is so hard and falls apart before i can even put in my mouth. The beef and pork enoki mushroom rolls have no taste and barely have any salt in. The shrimp fried rice, all i taste is the oil... The miso soup is super watery.. Nothing in this place taste good. This was my second time visiting Sushi Legend. Equally as impressed, if not more than the first time I went. The service is instantaneous and they never miss out on the food you order. The selection has a lot of special rolls and aburi rolls and sushi, which you would pay $15 for at a regular sushi spot. The sushi is amazing and so are the meats. The beef sirloin and the short-ribs are to die for. Don't have a clue how they get it so tender. Desserts are also very good, the crème brûlée was fantastic. Came here on a Saturday night during peak dinner hour, which was probably the worst time and was obviously packed. There's a kiosk at the front desk where you can enter your name & number of people in your party. The restaurant will text you when your table is ready. My friends and I walked around the Dollarama next door for about half an hour before coming back. After 10 more minutes, we finally got the text that our table was ready. This was a little misleading because although our table was "ready", it wasn't actually ready. After taking a peek at the reception lady's iPad, I understood why. When we get a number at the kiosk, a table number is assigned to us. The restaurant texts us around the time the people sitting at the same table # before us pays for the bill. Apparently, the people before us were either taking a lot of time paying the bill or taking an extremely long time getting up after paying the bill. It was not for another 10-15 minutes until we were seated. The lady at the reception apologized multiple times to us it was taking so long to seat us. We were ok with it since there's not much they can do to customers that are just slower in leaving the restaurant. Ordering is all done through iPad, which helps us keep track of our orders. Service is crazy fast here as our entire table was filled with food within minutes. Some of our items did not arrive, but we spoke with one of the managers there to help chase our food for us. He was more than willing to help out. Even after chasing our orders, 2 wrong orders arrived at our table so we kindly told the servers to take it back. AYCE sushi restaurants generally don't have the best quality sushi, but I would say this restaurant has pretty decent quality considering it's an AYCE. Great selection too. My favourite dishes of the night were all the torched sushi. Love that smoky flavour! Next time I will probably come back at time when it's not so crazy busy. I find that the restaurant is very spacious and aesthetically pleasing. Although it is difficult to communicate with the servers due to the language barrier, many of them try their best to bring in orders efficiently within a reasonable time frame. If they have trouble communicating, they will bring someone else to help understand. I appreciate the use of iPads when it's come to ordering AYCE. A drink with free refills is included. Prices may vary from Monday -Thursday, Friday - Sunday, & holidays, depending whether it is lunch or dinner. For the food itself, sashimi, or salmon roses are my top picks. You can taste and feel the coolness and the freshness when eating. I also like the shrimp & yam tempura, spicy seafood udon, shrimp fried rice, and many more. All the food items are served within reasonable portions and there is a wide selection of appetizers, sushi, maki's, hand-rolls, side dishes, and desserts. From the time that I started going here, I've seen a lot of new food items to choose from, which adds to their selections.
