This is meant to be more of a 3.5 than a 3 star review. We stopped here for lunch one afternoon and I didn't have much expectation since I have my few true favorite sushi spots in South Jersey, but we were in the area and wanted to try something new. The sushi is really good. We ordered Kani salad, tuna raviolis & one of the special rolls. The kani salad was delicious! It had the perfect amount of sauce mixed in which gave it just the right amount of spice. The tuna raviolis were interesting, but very good. They come in a large portion of little fried dumplings filled with spicy tuna and covered in different sauces. I recommend trying them! Lastly, the roll was HUGE, the fish was extremely fresh and it was overall really well done. I'd be excited to go back and try more of their menu. The service was friendly and helpful. They just opened and everyone was really attentive. The only thing that was a little off-putting was the cleanliness of the restaurant. I just felt as if they could of done a better job of cleaning before opening up. The tables were still sticky and just had a dirty vibe. read more

Apparently our waitress does not have "thank you" or "your welcome" in her vocabulary, only "what would you like" as I said, based on the food it gets a solid 3/4 but due to the horrific waitress it gets bumped down. I ordered a 6 piece sushi appetizer that was great, a special roll (Salmon lover?), and one order of scallop nigiri. Everything was great; fresh; delicious. When it comes to sushi, I can be a real critic. Having tried sushi from so many places in the tristate area I have a good amount of experience with sushi. I'll tell ya what i think about sushi lover, not bad. I've definitely had better but they have good quality food compared to many places I've been too. Maybe it's because they're in the mall, but i feel they're a bit more expensive then what I'm used too. The area is ok, moderate in size and spacing. A bit dim but the place is clean and calm. Personally i feel id only eat here if i was at the mall with friends and didnt feel like driving out to eat, otherwise i'd probably go to a more affordable establishment. read more

Ordered online... just like usual for lunch but this time was for dinner. Order confirmation @ 7:25pm detailed delivery arrival time 8:19pm Called at 8:25pm to check the status of the order. The staff said "oh that order is leaving now". Called back at 8:50pm still waiting for the delivery and the woman said "oh we have no order nothing came in". Ridiculous... guess I am without dinner. To be honest the food was very good it came out fast and was pretty much what you would expect for strip mall sushi... My issue was with the wait staff: Two young girls were taking care of our table and could not be more disinterested. They were rude and very unprofessional. Sashimi was decent. Mango special was not special other than the off spicy tuna on the inside. Teriyaki chicken I would never recommend! Does not taste like chicken with the texture of rubber! They tried to tell me it was fresh white chicken. Then the chef said they mix it with salt? Preserve? Chicken does not need salt when mixed with teriyaki sauce. The sashimi appetizer was garbage. The fish was mushy and very very bland. A disgrace at any price, let alone ten dollars. The pork gyoza is small, but tasty enough to be more than fair at four dollars. The sushi rolls however were very enjoyable. I've never seen a Philly roll with cucumber in place of avocado, but it was still enjoyable. The spicy tuna rolls are hardly what I'd call spicy, however they are very flavorful and tasty. The salmon lover roll was very enjoyable as well, but the highlight of our meal was definitely the Mt. Fuji Roll, which is served encircling a flaming cup of saki to complete the volcano theme. Stay far, far away from the sashimi and you should be fine. read more

I was was very pleased with the service and food here. I ordered a spicy tuna roll and exactly 5 minutes and 15 seconds later it was on my table. I have to begin by saying that the food was really really good so on that alone I would give it more stars but in general it's just not quite there. Service was very friendly and they definitely gave it 1 but just a bit off. The place is part of a large mall on the outside and the aesthetic is very dark and cold.. if it wasn't for the aesthetic, I think the experience could be very cool. Once again when you first walk in there is a dark high Sheen tile floor with dark tables chairs, dark walls and a lit-up sushi counter to the rear. You can sit at the sushi counter or at any of the dozen or so tables. The Waitresses seem very friendly and were spot-on with service. It wasn't very crowded but it wasn't a weekend either so maybe that's just the way it is. I had an all-around good experience and it would be a place I would go back to again if in the area.
