We needed a good meal after getting our taxes done, and we're not disappointed and actually found ourselves trying to compare to our favorite sushi restaurants. We arrived 15 minutes before opening and were allowed to set in the waiting area until they were ready to seat us. Dayan our waitress was incredible, I think we should start recognizing this type of exemplary service. The appetizers was the calamari, and treasure island which was a delicious sushi appetizer. The calamari flavor was seasoned different but in a great way. It's like they have their own signature flavors. The Bento boxes were excellent value, and the 2 for 11 dollar sushi rolls were excellent with the added benefit good value. Do get the salmon, fried crispy, just a wonderful bite. Love the open and inviting ambiance. Beat we've had in a while, and the service is second to none. Oh don't forget they have a cotton candy machine, cool to watch. read more

Came after work for dinner after trying to find a new place to go on TikTok. I had the pork dumplings which were amazing, the black samurai, and the super Phili roll. The inside was really clean and well thought out. The service was good they weren't to busy when we went. The crab puffs were some of the best I've tasted. The serve it with a yum yum sauce. You can taste all of the ingredients. The cream cheese, crab and ginger. The steak tar tar wasn't what I know as tar tar. It was seared and served rare and in slices not diced as the way it's normally served. But over all you get a decent amount of meat and the sauce had a slight kick to it. The ginger dressing for the salad is delicious not over powering just a hint of ginger. All of the rolls we had were fresh and delicious. For $14 you get 3 rolls and soup or salad. The good: the food! The bad: the service. The food is gorgeous and really delicious. I feel like those dishes should be on Instagram because they're just so pretty. The Takoyaki appetizer is so good I could order two and eat them both for lunch. The Highway 90 roll is also really good. The service is.....inaccurate and inconsistent. Don't get me wrong, the people are all very nice and friendly so no complaints in that regard but it seems like this is everyone's very first time waiting tables because they just don't have the skills, and the flow of the whole process is really off. The first time we went the server handed us menus then immediately asked what we wanted to order. The place had only been opened for a few days and of course we had no idea so we asked for some time. Unfortunately the server was back every two minutes (are you ready yet? are you ready yet? are you ready yet?) until we hurriedly placed an order just to end the process. The restaurant was empty apart from one other table so I couldn't understand why there was such an intense rush for us to order (something I expect from a fast-food establishment but not from a dine-in restaurant.) Fortunately, the food tasted as good as it looked so, service aside, we were happy. The second time we visited the restaurant only had 2 tables which had already been served. A couple walked in ahead of us and were already seated when we were greeted. We got a table immediately and the server was attentive and gave us time to look at the menu before taking our order. Then the food came out...and it wasn't what we ordered. The server went around to other tables asking each person if it was their order but as it turned out, no one had ordered the random plate of food that was brought out and presented to us and everyone else. Another round of food came out but that wasn't ours either, nor did it belong to anyone else. Keep in mind there were only 2 tables waiting to be served so it's not like there were 50 full tables all ordering at the same time during a lunch rush. There shouldn't be that much confusion regarding the orders. Our actual, correct order was brought out a few minutes later and the food is so beautifully presented, it's practically a work of art. It's delicious! We are both very happy to have finally received the correct order. We try to relax and enjoy it. We ordered too much and had to request a doggy box but when the server brings the check more chaos and confusion ensues. It's not our check. There's literally nothing on the check that we recognize at all, even the drinks are wrong. We have to hijack another server and explain the problem so she can get our server to bring us the correct check. We finally get the correct check and we're able to pay (and yes, we tipped the appropriate 20%.) It's a new restaurant with untrained staff so I expect a few missteps but there were a lot of issues during both visits. I'm really hoping that they'll eventually train the servers and get all the kinks worked out, but at this point I'm not sure if I'm up for another attempt. Go, but bring your patience with you and make sure you check your bill. read more

The food, ambiance, service, and overall quality is absolutely fabulous! I've been with my fiancé once, and his family another time.. and they never seize to impress us! I got the Super Crunchy roll, which is super good! But they also have really really good flavorful, big portion sized ramen bowls that are fabulous! I highly recommend this as your go to sushi place! It's very hard for me to find a good go to, because me with sushi is like a makeup artist with makeup.. but this sushi place is phenomenally good! Worth a try for sure! read more

Went for the first time today. I'm used to really good, strong broths and good amounts of meat from New Orleans ramen spots. I'd give the Black Samurai a 6.5/10. - Only 3 pieces of meat, but really fantastic eggs and a good amount of toppings. - Price is average/slightly less than NOLA. - Towards the end the broth got watery and there was a weird taste of green onions and bamboo shoots (way too many veggies) - Their regular tonkotsu probably was better since there wasn't a ton of black garlic oil. - Avocado eel roll was solid, fire crunch roll was half cream cheese, big pass. - Waitress was awesome and attentive! Paid over $22 for hibachi plates but never once got the soup or salad. The rice was hard and overall flavor was OK. Kept asking the waiter about the soup and salad she kept insisting that they were in the back making it. But we were well over there for 2 hours and still nothing. So by this point we were agitated so ask if we could just have the 2 soups and salads to go and still NOTHING. So would I order it again the next time. PROBABLY NOT. Had order 2 ramen bowls. The first one came out quick.. but we never received the 2nd bowl at all. This was almost close time by the way. She never once acknowledge us about the ramen. So instead we told her at this point she can just cancel the order. However, in between those times she kept telling us that she had to wait to put in the orders because it was in Japanese? Like ok.. random. But OK. The sushi is ready were good and I can't complain about those. We did have to ask for chop sticks after 5 minutes. Never received even a bowl to pour the sauce in. My bill was over $200 including tips and tax. Overall, I would give this place a 3. Everything definitely could be better. read more
