If conveyor belt sushi makes you nervous, you can order 'like normal.' It's fun to start pulling plates of food from the belt. Each plate has a few bites, perfect to try something new without investing in a whole plate of something you don't like. And if you do like it, take another plate! My daughter and her partner introduced me to Sushi on Tatum a couple of years ago and has remained a favorite. The service is great, the food is good and affordable. Try it! Ordered takeout last night. Poor quality food. Tuna sashimi was tough. Shrimp Tempura Roll had very little shrimp and wilted, browning lettuce. Lastly, ordered Fried Rice w/ Chicken. I had to dig for the rice, little to none. Gyoza soup was the only bright spot in the order. read more

I've been coming here since 2014 and even when they sold the restaurant to family members. The price jumped since American prices keep rising. The quality though has gone down because I myself owned a restaurant and I currently do safety and health inspections for the Maricopia County. Ordered from Uber eats. Got here fast. Ordered gyoza, California roll, Las Vegas roll and paradise roll. The gyoza was good. Just what you expect. The California roll was the worst I have ever tasted. I didn't know somebody could mess up a California roll so badly. The paradise roll was mostly cream cheese, hardly any mango. I handicap all the conveyor belt sushi places I've ever been to since they have to put out rolls constantly that sit on the belt - but the sushi really isn't that good. Wow! We ordered lunch from here yesterday and it was delicious! Thanks to all earlier review warning about small rolls (they are priced appropriately), we ordered a few extra and had a very satisfying lunch. The menu at Sushi on Tatum is pretty basic - you won't find any unusual combinations or odd ingredients here. That being said, it's hard to go wrong with basic when you've very fresh fish. The rolls were delightful as was the sashimi. I've gotten a bit reticent about ordering delivered sushi because it seems like quality isn't usually as good but Sushi on Tatum might just be changing that. I've walked in and walked right out of this place 2 times now, when you walk in you aren't greeted by anyone it's such a weird set up. Then after sitting there for 2 minutes this guy came over and said what do you want, then I said I don't know what's on the menu and he gave me a menu and gave me a piece of paper and pencil to write down what I wanted. I stopped in for a very quick bite at lunch, and was a bit uncomfortable because I do not dine inside yet. I chose seating away from the conveyor belt sushi area and ordered from the menu. Two salmon skin hand rolls and 20 minutes later I was back outside! I really liked the flavor and presentation of the hand rolls on the little stand. Although the eel sauce ran out of the bottom a bit, it was super yummy and every bit as good as any traditional sushi bar where I have had this dish. Service was pleasant and efficient. My only gripe is the takeout pickup area really detracts from the dining room, and takeout patrons are standing very close to tables. read more

We love Sushi on Tatum! I typically get the Las Vegas Roll and the Chicken Tempura Roll. This is the first time I've had the chicken tempura and it's delicious. It's good for non-sushi eaters like my boyfriend. He also gets their gyoza which is panfried. They have more dessert options here than Teharu sushi, another conveyer belt sushi restaurant. I went back and forth between 3 and 4 Stars... the novelty of the conveyor belt is of course awesome. This was actually my first experience with this kind of place. So as far as something different, this place definitely delivers. As for the food, it was decent for sushi. Nothing life changing but it was definitely edible. It was nice to be able to try different rolls and a variety of sides (seaweed salad, edamame, etc). They even had some dessert plates like cheesecake bites, macaroons, jello, chocolate cake, and tiramisu. You come here more for variety of choices instead of something mind blowing. We also ordered the chicken teriyaki off of the menu. It comes with rice, miso soup, and had broccoli with it. It was just okay, pretty typical. I'd sick with the assortment on the belt. Service was pleasant but a little slow to get the check. Then again they are really just there for drinks and if you order off the menu, so when it gets busier they are kind of all over the place. Belt Sushi and many other items. Our favorite is generally the Spider Roll, Gyozas, Caterpillar Roll and we order the Beef or Chicken Teriyaki Dinner. Gyozas are excellent and deep fried to a nice crispy dumpling. The Spider Roll is generally my go to order with a nice soft shell crab surrounded by a nice suhsi roll. Take out- Delivery. It was mostly good with a couple of little things. We ordered Salmon Teriyaki and Beef Teriyaki. Both were good. Good Flavor! However, the broccoli underneath was bland. No sauce. And no extra sauce at all. I did however receive a lot of sushi condiments. That felt wasteful. The side salad was gross. Rusted iceberg lettuce and wrong dressing. Definitely not worth the $4. I would eat at the restaurant again . But no more take out. $84.00 was a little steep for two meals and 2 side salads. I have dined here so many times and it's always been really really good.
