The customer service was awful, so that's why I only have 3 stars. To start this was my first time here. They sat me at the bar area which was fine but then NEVRR came back to explain anything to me. I had no idea how to order a drink or how it worked. I'm just looking around looking crazy. Then I finally saw a little screen above me and click on it and then learned that's how to order a drink. Then it's delivered by a robot. I honestly just watched and observed other ppl do figure out how to grab the sushi. The seared salmon was by far my favorite. The yellow tail was good too. I got one speciality roll and didn't like it at all. So then I had no idea what to do with it or how to pay since you can only put empty plates in the belt. Anyways idk if I'll ever be back. Might be a one and done for me.

The food at Kura is always consistent-- not the best quality sushi you can get, but always good. There are plenty of options on the menu for everyone to be happy. Service is quick once you're seated, but I'd recommend making a reservation so you don't have to wait. The atmosphere is fun and the experience is unique.

I'm not going to review Kura as if it's a high end sushi restaurant, I'm reviewing it for what it is: an affordable conveyor belt sushi chain that has cheaper quality food. For what it is, it was a pretty good visit. We really were pleasantly surprised by the quality. The variety was great. Rice was prepared right -- not mushy or stale. The fish was great which was the biggest surprise of the whole meal. The salmon was fresh and buttery. The scallops were plump. Tuna did not taste cheap or old like previous visits. I did try some of their limited time menu items -- their fish taco and the crispy rice hot dog. The cod in the fish taco was way too soft and disintegrated in my mouth, I would like a firmer fish.. the tartar sauce was great though. The crispy rice hot dog was interesting... the sausage was nice a plump -- juicy but the rice did not make sense. The rice was also a little sweet and did not taste right.. ** please bring back the crispy rice salmon and spicy tuna instead of this. We did not enjoy our last 2-3 visits to Kura. Service was always bad, food did not taste good and it was becoming overpriced for what it is. We would happily come back now and spend what we did again if the quality stays the way it is. Service this time around was still not great, even worse than usual actually, but we still enjoyed otherwise. Kura used to allow you to win prizes at 5-7 plates but now it's every 15, 25+ plates which sucks but I get it..

Easy to find revolving sushi bar. My siblings come here often. We were greeted and seated almost as soon as we walked in. The smell of bleach hit us like a brick. As with other revolving places, you can either grab plates as they're passing, or order on the tablets. As you eat, you place your plates into little slot that counts what you've eaten/ what your running total is, with a little animation for your progress. Reach a certain level and you unlock / receive prizes. I got a little keychain with taiyaki on it. We mostly picked items off the belt, but had to put a few orders in via tablet because there wouldn't be any by the time it reach us. I would focus on eating sushi as it's better value per buck compared to the soup / noodle offerings (which were just okay)

We arrived and was asked if I've been before, which was a few years ago. There was a bit of a learning curve with the new touchpad system but we learned fast. Our server offered us wasabi, ponzu, eel sauce, and spicy mayo. We then figured out you order water/drinks on the tablet. I think they should add sauces or a server button on the tablet too. When then food came out, I pleasantly surprised on how nice and fresh the nigiri was. Plates came out fast from the tablet and had a good amount of options. A fun interactive vibe with bright lights, moving plates, robots delivering water, and japanese cartoon sideshows playing on a tablet. Bussing your own plates felt like adding points to your score. The winner of the show was the ice cream with fried red bean Taiyaki. Definitely end with that!

I came here with my boyfriend and my daughter for dinner. The facility is on the smaller end, so you have to wait for seating outside. It does get pretty packed so it's best to get there early. My party of 3 waited around 40min. Upon entering, you are seated and given a run down of how everything works. You have a screen above the table (picture) where you order drinks and the specialty items like dessert and ramen. All the sushi is on a conveyor belt that runs past all the tables. Your drinks come to you by a yellow robot, it's pretty cool! I enjoyed it a lot. The food itself is pretty tasty. Everything is pretty fresh as people are constantly eating and it's constantly being refilled. My favorite sushi was a seared miso salmon with cream cheese, it was so good! I also ordered the miso ramen which I wasn't a big fan of. It was a bit saltier than expected. Dessert wise I got some ice cream mochi and the fried takoyaki. Both were very good and definitely worth a try! The strawberry mochi was my favorite dessert. The bathrooms here are very clean. You can see their cleaning expectations on the door which I liked. A fun plus about this place is the more plates of sushi you eat then you get little prizes from a ball machine! We won 2 snoopy themed keychains during our time there. Overall, I very much enjoyed myself here. I would definitely come back for this experience. If you're worried about being overwhelmed or confused, you can call the server to help you through the tablet on your table. They are all very helpful!

My daughter and I love going out for sushi when we're out running errands. This was nearby so we thought we'd check it out even though I had reservations about eating off a conveyor belt. I should have listened to myself. Upon walking in we stood for a few seconds looking for a hostess or employee to be seated but there was no one. We too a seat and an employee came over asking if we checked in with the hostess. I apologized and explained we didn't see anyone nor a sign that said wait to be seated. She rolled her eyes at us and said she'd be right back. I mean, it certainly didn't look like the type of place that would have a hostess or even wait service. We sat and watched dozens upon dozens of empty sushi containers slowly roll past us. Finally, a few scattered, sad options rolled by. There are little signs before some plates that have names like "Spider roll, Tiger roll etc but it was impossible to know exactly what ingredients were going to be in them so we wasted a few pieces due to allergies and dislikes. Most notably, the sushi was all warm, poorly prepared and disgusting! We had more "sushi" if you can even call it that left on the table then we ended up choking down. My daughter had been to a similar place with friends and said that after you slide your empty plates into a little receptacle at the table that you were supposed to get a "surprise toy" that rolled down to your table. The contraption made an exciting noise a couple of times but alas, no ball ever came out. Everything is served on a conveyor belt or by a little robot and there was no option on our $60 bill to not leave a tip. We never saw a waitress after the one who stopped by to roll her eyes at us. Horrible food, no service, waste of money. Hopefully we don't get food poisoning.

I love the concept. Sushi straight to your table as well as robotic server with your drinks, fun! Sushi rolls are tiny but filling. As is the ramen. The amount you get is no more than a cup of noodles. My happiness did lay in inari, the spider hand roll & crunchy roll. I do appreciate the friendly staff:)

We walked in at opening. It was my first time. We were seated and everything was explained to us in detail. We ordered drinks and were on our way to eating! Great selection of pieces to choose from, including appetizers and desserts. They charge per plate. Definitely recommend!

Eight people on a small table but we made it work. We were all smiles ever though we were waiting for food on the conveyor belt.

Food = 4.1 Customer service = 4.0 LATE POST (from April) Day 3 in Phoenix for National Club Volleyball tournament and our girls and coach wanted sushi. So coach said there's a conveyor belt sushi spot, so we all agree and Uber to the restaurant. After a short wait they jam 8 of us into one table, we were all hungry so we made it work. We order drinks waters and hot tea since our table must have been at the end of the conveyor belt since there were only pictures of the food but NO FOOD. We received our drinks and we laughed and became creative were to place our cups because our special orders and the food on belt started showing up. Each plate is $3.50 and we kept knocking out plates and after every 15 plates your table receives a Pokèman like ball that has a collector pin inside. We got to 50 plates and we were just hit our stride of food then 6 spider rolls plates show up on our special train, I guess they finally decided to fill all our Spider roll orders at the same time. So I ate 4 of the Spider rolls by myself and the rest of the meal everyone kept asking if we should more Spider rolls ‍. We get to 85 plates & everyone slowed down, but we all said we want one more collector pin so we gutted up and ate 5 more plates but we didn't see two empty plates on the table so our final plate total was 92. Now you would think that the food quality was superior after reading this review but in fact it was average since no one item was super fresh, stood out, or pictured. We as a group were enjoying each other company's mixed in with hunger = a great overall experience and smiles. Customer service could be better since we had to ask for refills for our drinks. You figure they would pay more attention to this since all the ordering is done by phone or at the table and empty plates go directly into a chute that counts them.

    Tuna sushi with unwelcome plastic

This is basically an attempt at creating a "fast food" style cafeteria sushi & ramen. The best part about the experience is the robot, that unlike the management wants to hang around you awhile! Yes, robots are like that, kind of needy; if they only knew that they can make sushi A LOT better that their captors. I guarantee that your kids will want to spend quality time with the beverage robot, perhaps to dance. Alas, the instructive "servers" that don't really serve are quick to criticize you when you don't follow the Kuru Protocol, that is evidently more important than quality food. The only decent dishes are the plain and toro versions of salmon and tuna. The paper thin sliced fish evidently pays for the cute Kuru robot and the Critical Servers. The main greeter was super nice and Asian, so perhaps the folks that work here need to spend some time in Japan, which I have, and prefer. The only other cafeteria style sushi restaurant had locations in Seattle and LA, but succumbed to COVID economics. That was Blue C Sushi. I am, however, shocked that one tuna sushi dish

Option wasn't on empty conveyor belt-ordered from queue and wasn't fresh at all.

When seated, was asked if we had been to Kura before (yes) and if we needed any wasabi (yes), soy sauce (already at table) or anything else (not yet). Waited over 10 min before I got up to ask the same staff member for wasabi (chatting it up with fellow employee). He then brought it over - but like, isn't this a fast paced eating environment? The customer literally grabs the food they want or orders from a screen. Next up, ordered beverages on the screen, then proceeded to wait over 15 min to add another beverage in hopes it would get someone's attention. Then waited another 15 min before going to staff to find out where the beverages might be. Staff said they'd check on it. After another 15 min (45+ min at this point) we decided that we didn't want the beverages because at this point we were getting full, irritated at the lack of service, and just wanting to leave. Called over another member of the staff to let them know and was told that they didn't have either beverage. Like what?? Why wait for over 45 min to let the customer know this? If you know you're out of or replacing the syrup, let the customer know that you're out or that it'll be a bit and better yet offer a substitute. Anyway, completely surprised by this when all I could say that it was fine because we didn't want the beverages. He told me to let the staff who was going to check us out, to know that we didn't get the drinks and they will remove them. Funny thing is, same person gave us our bill and don't remove the drinks. Had to wait MORE time to call over another person to have the bill corrected. So frustrating.

What is less well known is that the fake crab mix tends to use wheat as a binding agent to keep all of the little fake crab meats mushed together, and that makes for a really gross (and frankly extremely unpleasant) aftermath once I've ingested said allergen. All this is to say, most sushi restaurants specify "krab mix" or "krab" or something like that to indicate that it's the cheaper version. Great! This restaurant uses the word "crabstick" - I also understand what that means. Fake crab without a GF notification - got it! I will pass on that. What I don't understand that while THEY DO SELL REAL SNOW CRAB, there's a little TWIST, my friend! Sorry to say - the SNOW CRAB HAND ROLLS ARE A LIE! It's so conveniently located next to Costco that I got my car washed then drove on into the connecting shopping center where the restaurant was at. I had the lunch special that included the rainbow roll, dynamite roll and miso soup. The lunch specials we had were a great deal for the quality and quantity. I had the rainbow+dynamite combo. The fish was fresh and I love the use of purple rice in the rolls. I was pleasantly full from the good food and portions. I would definitely go here again.

I was dining solo and had no trouble finding a seat since there's plenty of seating throughout the restaurant. That said, I was surprised by how quickly the place started filling up after opening, which is always a good sign. One of the first things I noticed was the large sushi bar and being able to watch the sushi chefs at work. There were five of them, which I took as a sure sign this place gets busy. I ordered the spider roll, salmon avocado roll, and steamed edamame. Everything was fresh, well-prepared, and exactly what I was hoping for. One unique thing about Kodo is their rice blend. They use a combination of black and white rice, which gives the sushi a distinctive purple color. It's not something you see every day, and it definitely makes their sushi stand out. I also have a food allergy, and the staff handled it carefully and without any issues. They offer fountain drinks, which I always prefer. And I liked their plastic to-go container. It kept my leftovers from getting soggy by next day. Easy five stars.

Tip: if you need the staff's help, there's a button on the side of the table to press. Usually I don't grab the sushi from the conveyor belt. To guaranteed freshness, I order from the digital menu above the table. Currently there is a Yuzu special menu where there are a few items all made with yuzu! All were delicious. If you love yuzu, totally try the dessert, yellowtail yuzu sushi, and Seared Yuzu Jalapeno Alfonsino Kinmedai! Also tried the Uni (sea urchin) and it was fresh as well. I love any sushi dish with jalapeño on top. It's actually spicy and has a good kick to it! Over all 10/10 for food quality, price, and wait time for the food to come!

One of the coolest things about this place is that when you grab your plate off of the revolving conveyor belt, you can feed your empty plate into a slot in the table. It keeps count of how many plates you've put in, and when you've reached five plates a cartoon comes on the screen. When You reach 15, a prize in the ball falls out for you! We got a second prize after we hit 25 plates. Aside from the conveyor belt that revolves around, there's a little robot that comes to bring you your drinks, which you can order on the screen. There are tables and booths around the conveyor belt, as well as some chairs that simply face it. The sushi is pretty good here - - my favorite is the seared eel. It is so delicious! This place is not fancy but it is set up for fun and is a great place to bring kids who like sushi.
