My sister hired them for my nephew's birthday at our church...

Sushi wherever you want...whenever! My nephew's birthday happened to be on the same day that he was ro receive Confirmation and First Holy Communion at St. Stephen's Church. It also happened to be the day before Easter, so there was going to be a potluck after the Vigil service. Sushi on Wheels was such a great idea. This local catering company set up (by themselves) in a corner of the parish hall, and quietly took everything down and away at the end of the night. How easy is that? All of the parishioners waited their turn in line and ordered fresh, beautiful nigiri sushi and hand rolls. One guy, Dan, worked the entire two hours while Ramon, the owner, worked maybe one hour - the busiest hour. The two guys were so patient, helpful, and friendly! This was such a novel, practical potluck choice! My sister is pretty smart, eh? She actually booked for 35 people, but there were more in attendance. When they ran out of rice towards the end, they served us the shrimp by searing it with a torch and adding garlic sauce - mmm! So clever! Happy birthday to my favorite nephew!!! Thanks to Sushi on Wheels for a fun foodie experience!

Just had my Son's 1st birthday and they did an amazing catering job! It was a hit to remember , very classy and everyone was pleased ! Great food and memories !

Sushi On Wheels set up. He needed a small space (roughly 6x7) and just one outlet. Fresh fish and excellent service!

Where has Ramon been all our lives?! We booked Ramon 2 weeks prior to our party. Thank goodness he had our date open, because his service was such a hit! All our guests loved it, and we were all so impressed with his service. Sushi was fresh, his set up was clean, and he was very friendly. We booked our service for a time frame of two hours, but we had several guests that were unaccounted for, which in turn caused Sushi On Wheels to run out of product about 15 minutes prior to scheduled end time. It was perfectly fine because one, that was our fault, and two, our guests had enough to eat anyway. We chose package A, and the spicy ahi was SO good. All the sushi was good, but the salmon and spicy ahi stood out most. Ramon's service from start to finish was excellent. Calling/texting/emailing him for inquiries went smoothly, I received quick responses, and he was very polite. We're already discussing booking this company again in October!.

Great sushi. Great service. My sister hired Sushi On Wheels for her New Years Eve party and it was awesome. Not only was everything fresh, but the chef/owner Ramon was so personable. People at the party couldn't stop raving about how good everything was. I was kinda embarrassed at first at how many times I visited the sushi bar, but by the end I didn't even care...I basically just stood there so I could keep on ordering, haha. Would definitely hire them for another special event...or just because.

Sushi on wheels is the real deal!! We had the pleasure of eating their super fresh, made to order, yummy sushi all night long!! I just couldn't make up my mind on what to order so I got a little bit of everything (salmon skin roll, spicy ahi + veggies, hamachi shiso, ebi avo, sashimi + sprouts)!! Not only was their fish fresh! They used some of my favorite add ons (shiso, avocado, tempura flakes, radish sprouts, cucumber). On top of their sushi we go spoiled with freshly fried shrimp, sweet potato, zucchini, green bean, California roll tempura with a yummy dipping sauce! If you're looking for awesome service, fresh and yummy sushi and tempura, trust me when I say these guys are legit! Best of all, they can come to you! They set up a beautiful sushi station right in the backyard! Talk about service straight to your door!!

I attended a luncheon this week catered by Sushi On Wheels. Everything was so fresh, delicious and beautifully presented. Ramon, the owner, encouraged me to expand my sushi repertoire, from the plain Nigiri and California rolls to his more exotic creations. He had everything-otoro, hamachi, unagi, aku, ikura, salmon skin, poke, tobiko and the added condiments On top of it all, Ramon was engaging and entertaining while discussing the different sushi options as we decided on our choices. I have been to a couple of other catered sushi parties and I must admit, Ramon does it best! Mahalo Ramon.

I selected a menu that all my guests would enjoy. I made sure there was spam for the kids too.

Based on the yelp reviews I decided to book with Sushi on Wheels for my husband's birthday. It was very simple to book. Ramon was the sushi chef for our party. He was very professional and allowed me to change certain things on the menu and update the headcount with no problem. The day of the party he arrived about an hour early to set up. The entire look of the sushi bar was fantastic. It was clean and neat. The ingredients to make the sushi was fresh and vibrant. Our guests were impressed with the quality of the fish he used. He didn't mind my guests taking photos and videos for their IG and Snapchat. I only wished we had him a little bit longer beyond the 2 hours he was booked for. He broke down his setup quickly and quietly like a ninja. I highly recommend Ramon for your next celebration.

Chef Paul was amazing. From the fast set up to the clean presentation. Friendly and fast. Each piece was made with love. Everything was so fresh and delicious. Everyone was talking about him. Highly recommended for any occasion.

Sushi On Wheels all set up and ready to serve

Sushi on Wheels...All I can say is Awesome! Ramon did such a great job for my sister's surprise birthday party at our house. Yes, he traveled all the way to Hauula. The fish was so fresh and delicious, he made the most yummiest sushi. We had more than our fill and left stuffed. Thanks again Ramon. Definitely gonna hire him for my Grand baby's first birthday.

Two weeks ago, I saw a group on FB called 808 Best Lunch Wagons, Restaurants & Entertainments that…read moresomeone had posted the menu for Ige's and saw that Wednesday they would have baked spaghetti, my favorite going to school. Wednesday, had the internet fixed in the morning, picked up my cousin at 10:30 and she gave me directions to Ige's because all this time, I didn't know they were still in business. Oops. Ige's is located in the Waimalu area behind Goodwill on Kam Hwy. There's several small businesses back there and all these driveways, you can miss this place easily. On the main driveway, there's a bike path that crosses it, and an old guard shack. After this, you want to take the second driveway on the left. You know you're going down the right path when you see Guieb restaurant on the left, which I also didn't know was here. And drive all the way to the end. Ige's is the very last store on the left. You'll see the lunch line. They are only open for lunch from Tuesdays to Fridays from 9:30 am - 1 pm, so you should plan ahead. The regular menu differs each day and for now, the daily specials have remained unchanged. But to make sure, check out their IG @igesaiea. When you get there, they do have some grab and goes that are not advertised. As far as pricing, they are pretty reasonable, regular plates are between $13 - $16. However, the portions, let's say it's really heavy. My cousin got a mixed plate of chicken hekka and pork teriyaki. And I got the baked spaghetti, no rice, with toss and Mac salad. And the spaghetti filled half the plate with a good amount of height. Ige's is counter only, a hole-in-the-wall restaurant. Therefore there are no seats. I asked my cousin if she wanted to grab a table at Neal Blaisdell park down the street and she quickly declined. So we drove back to her house for lunch. My cousin did enjoy her chicken hekka and pork. I'm didn't get to taste it because I was too involved with my meal. At first glance, it wasn't the brick, lasagna-style like school where there was a thick layer of cheese on top. However, without the cheese, it was still tasted the same from what I could remember. Because the portion is heavy, my cousin could only eat a fourth of her lunch while I thought I better tap out at 1/3. So she didn't need to make dinner for her family while I had dinner and lunch for the next day. Although the interaction was short, the counter person was pleasant and very helpful. As you look into the kitchen, you can see a lot of people hustling back there as they also do catering. I'll be away for two weeks but I am looking forward to picking up lunch when I get back and I am definitely brining family here, I just need to figure out a good place for a picnic.

Operated by members of the extended Ige Family, focusing on buffet catering and bento services. * Ige's Catering (Mapunapuna). Originally established by Rachel Ige since 1969, opening out of Masa's Cafeteria. This review is for Ige's Lunchwagon & Catering (Aiea). I remember years ago I once ordered pork nishime ala carte, and it was so flavorful and with the generous serving, it lasted for several meals! Because I don't live nearby, I lost track of following the Instagram/Facebook menu and the short weekday hours. Thanks to Yelper Sach T. for reminding me what Ige's has to offer! This Aiea-based business is known for its generous portions of local plate lunches, catering services, and Okinawan-style dishes like sweet sour spareribs and shoyu pork. It offers daily lunch specials and catering for events, with a reputation for large, affordable meals with leftovers. Their lunch menu for the weekdays include: turkey/chicken ala king, Korean fried chicken, fresh corned beef, meatloaf, pork tofu, roast turkey, chicken curry, checken hekka, pork teri, hamburger steak, Hawaiian plate, tripe/beef stew, long rice, bbq spareribs, shoyu chicken, roast pork, chicken fried steak/katsu, catch of the day. In addition, their weekly specials per weekday include: teri beef tips, sweet sour spareribs, curryburger stew, pork cutlet w/ gravy, shoyu chicken, baked spaghetti, fried saimin, fried chicken thighs, chicken long rice, turkey tail adobo, baked luncheon meat, fresh fish patties, pork nishime, chow fun w/ pork teri, baked rosemary chicken, and catch of the day. Plus, maki sushi and cone sushi are available. Plate lunches can come with rice. mac salad, chow mein, and pickled onions; but if you want all entrée, it's $1 more. It's astounding to think of what is available! Our recent visit included our ordering of: * Sweet sour spare ribs. This is exactly how I like my sweet sour spare ribs - vinegary, meat easily off the bone or tendon, lots of gravy over rice! Old-school cooking brings back memories of eating this when growing up! * Chicken hekka. Lots of long rice, chicken, celery, green onions, shiitake make this old-school cooking dish a winner! * Maki/cone sushi. Nice flavors to this sushi that are good for snacking! Great entrees to order in place of having to cook, as they lasted for several meals for hubby and myself! Items were pre-ordered over the phone to ensure that Ige's didn't run out of food and due to the short hours that they are open. Phone orders were done processed quickly, as they just asked for your name by friendly staff. There is a separate phone order pick-up area to expedite paying and receiving your order. Otherwise, you'll find a line of customers waiting to order in the regular order line. No dine-in, as it is strictly take-out. Hours of operation are short, Tues to Fri only from 9:30a to 1:00p only; Mon and weekends closed. Free parking available in large lot shared by other businesses in the complex. Staff works out of a kitchen behind Cutter Ford in Aiea in a "lunchwagon" style of services. Known for its delicious old-school local cuisine, extensive food choices, generous portions, affordable meals, authentic flavors, and friendly customer service, Ige's Lunchwagon & Catering in Aiea is a great place for lunch or dinner! And especially if you're too lazy to cook!
