Had a pretty terrible experience. Was timid to try sushi in the desert, but took the chance against my better judgement. Place was very obviously understaffed for the night, even though it was seemingly a slow weeknight. I spent 15 minutes waiting to be seated even though there were plenty of open tables, 30-45 minutes waiting on mediocre food, then spent the rest of the night hugged up to the toilet with a nasty case of food poisoning! It took about 3 days to actually feel somewhat back to normal. I went to lunch at Sushi Park, and I had a bento box with teriyaki chicken. Wow. For ten bucks, I got a nice bowl of miso soup, three pieces of tempura (including shrimp), two California rolls, a salad, a spring roll, and the teriyaki chicken. It was all very good, quickly and politely served, and a deal at $9.99. At the end of my meal, I ordered some green tea ice cream, which I can't find anywhere else in the Valley, and it was served in an old-fashioned milkshake glass. Awesome. Man the quality of service at sushi park has really gone down. I understand this Corona thing is affecting everyone in some way shape or form by not having dine in but man their take out service is really bad. I haven't been in town for a while being that I work out of state and the first time I ordered was an order messed up ok no biggie figured you'd get something else or a credit and not even that I said ok whatever. This second time around did it for me I live literally almost the next town on the whole other side of the City and they mess up again not just on one thing but two orders and don't even put teriyaki sauce on the chicken I ordered which was "chicken teriyaki" I mean if that wouldn't do it idk what would please if someone from your guys restraunt reads this please try to pay attention I'm pretty sure I haven't been the only one I'm not the type to complain but with two times in one week messing up their has to be a problem either that or dine in better be available soon maybe that will fix the issue thank you. read more

Good food, but bad service. Waiters seem too busy to serve you. They do not give you napkins half the time unless you ask. Seems to be only two good waiters there. Good luck getting them. I recommend the fried rice. You have to ask for condiments if you need any. read more

Well first off the food is good. Not traditional sushi it is California style sushi. A lot of the rolls are Americanized with avocado and jalapeños and spicy mayo. The biggest complaint that I have is with the waitstaff. They seem like they don't even train them on how to wait tables. They don't bring out the food together, they don't listen to you as you are ordering, they don't bring the necessary bowls for the ramen until asked. I have been there three times and I don't know if I'll ever go back. I wanted to give it a chance, but the failed me three times. read more

Okay food....horrible waitress. It's understandable when there is a mix up on orders. I didn't even realize it until I literally had a sushi roll in my mouth that she came back to our table and stated that it wasn't my order and immediately pulled the plate from the table. She didn't even bother to excuse herself or apologize. She finally brought back the right order back and that's when my friend asked to speak to the manager. The manager was very kind and understanding. I guess the manager addressed the associate because the associate found her way back to the table distraught trying to confront us that we lied to her manager. Maybe this place is better than it was the night we were there. Once someone FINALLY came to our table. We both ordered an entree, along with a sushi roll. When the food FINALLY arrived, the sushi was fine. But my salmon was just about inedible - by far and away the worst piece of salmon I've ever put in my mouth. I needed a knife to cut it. If someone had EVER come back to our table - to ask if the food was good, to refill our water glasses, to even bring the bill - I would have asked for a replacement. But I decided that getting another piece of poorly cooked fish wasn't worth waiting for. The service was SO bad. Very very poor service. Waitress has too many tables and still have to work the register as customers leave. Owner walking around with his hands in his pockets not even helping the 6 occupied tables. Today's food was terrible. Over battered sushi roll. Lobster roll was over cooked. All the rolls fell apart. Orange chicken was over cooked and rice was hard. So I guess this place is not was it was. Went for a quick lunch with a party of 10. There were about 5 tables with around 15 other people in the restaurant. We were seated in the back (mistake #1). Waitress took our drink and food order all at once (mistake#2) as this apparently meant to her that we didn't want our drinks until our food was ready. When the drinks came out so did two of our orders. Then another order then nothing for another five minutes. Then the rest of the orders came after several of our party was forced to leave without food due to the 45 minute wait for drinks. When my food came, all I ordered was Ramen by the way, I began eating and noticed something very hard and in my noodles. Much to my surprise when I pulled the piece out of my mouth it was a 8 inch long piece of string. Yes string!!! I attempted to notify the waitress but did not see her until it was time to check out. She never once refilled our drinks or checked on us again. When we checked out she made a lame apology about there only being three waitresses and they were slammed. I told her about the string in my soup to which she replied "sorry about that, yours is $10.75. Moral of the story is.... Let's face it there is no moral just stay away!!!!!! read more

I haven't had any of their sushi yet so I will not be judging them on that. I've had several Korean dishes and one Chinese-American dish. Day 1: Samgyeopsal - I was given a salad and miso soup to start my meal; nothing bad or special about those. The Samgyeopsal was brought out in a shallow, stone bowl that was extremely hot. One half of the bowl was filled with rice and the other half with my entrée. About ten thin-cut strips of pan-fried pork belly were placed atop a bed of cabbage and slivered white onions. Three banchan dishes(kimchi, blanched Korean spinach, and some sort of radish kimchi) were brought as well. The kimchi was a let-down. I like kimchi's spicy, complex flavor, but this kimchi overly salty and without complexity. It was drier than I've ever seen kimchi, and the Korean chili flakes just sort of clumped up like wet sand. There was no tanginess to it; it was just salty and spicy. The radish kimchi was exactly the same. The spinach was simply blanched without seasoning of any sort. The Samgyeopsal was kind of a surprise. The menu description was odd, butI wasn't expecting something so different. The pork belly wasn't seasoned, the teriyaki sauce drizzle didn't do anything to help the dish. The "ssam" part of Samgyopsal means "wrapped," and there were no lettuce or parilla leaves with this meal. Only the bed of sliced onion and cabbage accompanied it. That, too, was very bland. I also expected some ssamjang, but that was missing too. Also missing was garlic cloves from the grill, sesame or parilla oil(with salt), and gochujang. The stone pot made for nice presentation, but the water released from the onion and cabbage due to the stone pot's heat settled at the bottom of the bowl in a significant amount. I expected the outer edges of the rice serving to be crispy(similar to the texture of dolsot bibimbap), but all the excess water made the rice soggy instead. All of that water also prevented the onions and cabbage from caramelizing. One thing I'll say about the rice is that they use a good quality, short grained rice and the grains were cooked perfectly. In the end, the dish was so bland that I dumped my kimchi into the bowl and gave it all one big mix. While I was eating the last third of my meal, somebody from the kitchen grabbed me some gochujang. Day 2: Galbi- I counted eight thin, 2" x 2" pieces of meat(with the little rib bone) on top of the same mess and water my Samgyeopsal was on. The Galbi was tender and marinated nicely, but it didn't have that seared fat smell and taste I'm accustomed to. Other than the meat, the same blandness was apparent. I ate the meat by itself and then mixed my ban chan in with the rice and veggies. I had to ask for some gochujan. For my banchan, I was given Odeng sautéed with bell pepper and onion and fresh jalapeno bits mixed in. This side dish was excellent. Next, I had the Bulgolgi. Same presentation. The bulgolgi, mixed in with gochujan(which I had to ask for again) and the veggies and rice was pretty good. Bulgogi's not my favorite dish by a long shot, but it might be one of the safest bets for Korean at Sushi Park. Honey Sesame Chicken(to go)- This was a good dish. Even after twenty minutes of the food being put away in the Styrofoam container, the chicken pieces were crispy. The sweet and tangy sauce coated each piece thickly and uniformly. The chicken was all white meat and was fairly juicy. The chicken was on a bed of lightly sautéed veggies(onion, cabbage, carrot, and broccoli). This is a good dish for somebody who likes Chinese-American cuisine. Service- Average to pretty bad. On one visit, I was ignored for the most part of my evening, and my soup, salad, and banchan were never brought out until I raised a very impatient fuss(I was ignored for over fifteen minutes after getting my entrée). Also, the wait staff isn't knowledgeable. The managing staff need to get their wait staff up to speed. If you have a question, it's best to write it down (phonetically for the Asian words) and have the wait staff go to the kitchen and ask. Price- The Korean dishes are well-overpriced. You get what amounts to about a quarter-pound of meat, very basic veggies, and rice. Their rice is good quality, and some of their banchan is good, but it doesn't add up to their charging price in any instance. The prices here seem to reflect what grill-at-the-table Korean restaurants charge. I've never had a problem with their prices because you're paying for the experience, at least twice as many banchan dishes(usually refillable by request), and all the other little extras. What I would like(expect) to see: A knowledgeable, attentive staff. Lower prices or better value. When somebody orders a Korean dish, bring them traditional sauces. Don't make the customer ask for things. Add flavor to the meals. I'm not used to eating bland Korean food. read more

My boyfriend took me on a date here to see what all the hype was about....I immediately noticed they serve pho on the menu...for 10.99 $..now I have never seen a bowl of pho sell for more than 6$ ever. So I automatically knew that this place is full of it. I can only comment on the actual sushi because we didn't order anything else...but quality was comparable to the nicer sushi restaurants we've had in San Diego. I really enjoyed coming here. After finding plastic debris in my Pho & receiving really bad service I don't think i'll ever come back. My Pho soup contained plastic wrapping, this only lead me to question the cleanliness of the kitchen & food production of this restaurant, after I presented the plastic to the waitress she offered to give me another soup & gave no apology for the error on behalf of the cooking staff nor was it given to me at no expense. She lacked a clear english so it was a troublesome process to explain what had happened. read more

First of all, horrible service. Our waiter had 3 tables and he was overwhelmed. It took him 15 minutes to get us our drinks. When the food came three of the rolls looked exactly the same and the waiter couldn't tell me which roll was which. Moreover, he forgot to place an order for the 4th roll we ordered. When this place first opened my family and I were very excited couldn't wait to try it. First time trying it we thought food was awesome even tho we called in the order picked it up and had it at home. We were so pleased we went back for more a few days later except this time we went into the the restaurant to eat. Food was still good but service was terrible. Our server didn't come to our table for at least 15 min at which time she gave us our menus but didn't return for our order for at least 20 min..when she did come back she was in such a hurry she didnt take our drink order,we had to stop another server for drinks. To make a long story short experience was terrible. We gave it a chance 2 more times but experience was not much better. We have not been back since our 3rd attempt even tho food is good. We would love to take our entire family out to enjoy dinner but if we have a mandatory gratuity % added to the bill we would expect good service which seems to be the one thing they don't offer. read more

Awful, awful,awful!! Overpriced and tasteless! Yuck, yuck, yuck! Chicken dry and tough as leather. Dinner portions are lunch size yet you pay a higher dinner price. The batter on the tempura is thick! Japanese tempura is a very light batter. The cook is not trained in Japanese cooking because the food is horrible. If you're looking for sushi in El Centro then this is the place to go! Previously I had only been to Kotori, but this place is much better by comparison. The sushi rolls here are less packed with rice than Kotori, and also slightly smaller. Kotori cuts theirs into 10 pieces and here rolls are cut into 8 pieces. Flavor-wise, these are exquisite and the presentation is really nice, too. I can easily eat one entire roll and feel content but if you have an appetite you'll definitely need to order more than just one. I recommend ordering a few and sharing them, if going with a friend or two. I've tried the Missouri, Massachusetts, and Vermont, which were all excellent. I've also tried the Pho (available in Beef or Chicken) which was not really authentic Vietnamese Pho but it was still quite good. The portion is huge--I even had leftovers to bring home! Price-wise, this place is expensive. Each sushi roll is between $10-15. Whilst I haven't ordered anything else from their menu, their other plates are each well over $10, up through about $25. There are non-sushi menu items such as sashimi and Japanese and Chinese cuisine items. The location is where Millie's used to be years ago. The layout is mostly the same except some seating has been scrapped to make room for their sushi counter and soda fridges. The waitresses were attentive but when it comes to the end of the meal, you might be disappointed to know they never remember to bring fortune cookies. All in all, this place is pretty good and worth a splurge for a special occasion! read more

Sushi Park. Well let see, first off the service, friendly, but not very attentive. Sushi is an art, starting with the service, servers should be completely able to answer any question about anything on the menu. My wife ordered miso soup, the server brought it out after the maguro, I've eaten sushi all over the world, never had I seen the miso soup come out after the sushi. Never!! In 30 years of eating sushi!!! Not to mention they brought out wasabi and ginger half way through the sushi, another first in 30 years of eating sushi!! The fish is of poor quality, mostly frozen, not fresh. This is the kicker though. I ordered spicy chicken ramen. AWFUL, NO BS. I was polite about it, didn't return it, said nothing. Paid for our meal, tipped 25% (not the servers fault the food sucks.) On the way out I asked my server"Be honest, that ramen was TOP RAMEN? 19 CENTS at any grocery store?" You know what he said? "Well it's a Korean brand of top ramen but the same thing, yes." I couldn't believe he actually admitted to it!!!! Anyone who thinks sushi park is any good just hasn't been anywhere. I am very disappointed with the service, I have been to Sushi Park more than once and before I would have said I had a wonderful experience. Until I decided to spend time with my friends, an end of the school year get together gone wrong. Not only were we ignored multiple times by our waiter, but our food was given to us an hour after we arrived. The service continued to go down hill from there, my peers ended up eating my food waiting for their own (which was boiling hot and unable to enjoy). Our food was served at different times while our waiter ignored and stayed away from our table whenever we tried to get her attention. When asking for our checks she forgot to split the bill, tried to take all of our payments at the same time which led to more confusion. At the front cashier we started over, after she realizedthe register needed more cash she left us alone with the register at the front. Smiling as costumers walking in and out of the restraunt. I have never been treated this way before and I am disappointed that when a group of young adults go out the service is shockingly different. Our waiter followed us out complaining about her unfair job as a waiter. I will no longer be eating as Sushi Park, and after all the good things I have said about this place. I guess in order to enjoy and have a proper lunch one needs to be present with an adult (spending 2-3 hours with bad service and burning hot food ). read more
