Honestly the lunch special is good , but everything everything else on the menu is overpriced for what it is. Rolls are tiiiiiny. On top of that , the service is completely lack-luster. My wife loves the menu here. A large selection of food not found at the local common sushi chain here in the Imperial Valley. My wife is also a huge Pho fan. According to her the Pho was okay but nowhere as good as some of the other places she has been to. I had the ramen bowl and found it very good and satisfying. To us, the prices seemed to be fair for what was offered. The bowls of ramen and Pho were very large and the portion size for the rolls she ordered were good. Not overly impressed. The quality of the food is alright, definitely no super fresh. Their customer service could use A LOT of work, I understand they become busy and upset at times but customer services can make or break an experience. In response to the review below; the prices are higher than places in large cities, because maybe.... It's a trek over the hill to buy supplies/food/ingredients so maybe a higher price is justified? You can't just use rice bought at Walmart/supermarkets to make sushi. You actually have to use specific rice and not the same rice used at the cheap Chinese restaurants. For the Imperial Valley, Sushi Park is a great sushi restaurant! The menu has lots more than just sushi. There's lots of other non-sushi Japanese dishes, there's Korean dishes, and even pho! The service is great, which is unheard of in Imperial County. Since moving here, I can't believe the twilight zone we live in, where the worst service is the norm. Sushi Park probably has comparable service to most places in Korea town, which is saying a lot. The fish likely has to be brought in from San Diego every few days, and taking that into consideration the prices are justified. Look at the sushi bar! They put in time and money to make the place look like a legit sushi restaurant while being attached to a truck stop! There's overhead, you see the old Asian ladies cooking in the back? More in response to Rob below.... I've been to better sushi places in Japan that charge less let alone San Diego or Los Angeles, but take where this restaurant is into consideration. The places you mentioned are close to the coast and have large Asian populations where Asian markets are abundant, last time I checked when I had to make an authentic home cooked meal, I couldn't just drive up the street. I literally had to go to LA to pick up the needed ingredients. If anyone is reading yelp to consider eating here, try it yourself. Yes if you order several orders the price will be high, but in reality sushi is supposed to be an expensive meal. To start with, I must confess I do not usually have much optimism for restaurants at Truck Stops, AND, as a general rule I never seek Sushi there. However, after feeling adventurous, my wife and I decided to try Sushi Park in El Centro California. We had seen this place on several occasions, and they seemed to be doing a brisk business with lots of fairly nice vehicles in the parking lot. First, OMG THIS WAS DELICIOUS!!! Best Sushi we have ever enjoyed. The wait staff was incredibly pleasant and attentive. Their huge variety of sushi rolls made choosing a delightful chore. And when it was served, did I mention OMG, THIS WAS DELICIOUS? They provided a very nice selection of sauces and Wasabi and shaved ginger to add to the flavors. Every bite completely satisfied our palates and there were so many distinctive flavors that were discernable that it was a wonderful pleasure. Their Teriyaki offerings were my personal favorites and the seasonings/glaze were perfect. The portions were very generous, and I felt it was a great value to have this quality for the price. My brother is the one who told me about Sushi Park and he said it was pretty good but I didn't believe him. At first I wanted to go to Mex to get sushi but my mom said she wanted to go somewhere closer so my brother took us here and I'm glad he did! Not only do they serve authentic sushi, they also have Korean food such as sun-du-bu with banchan and they also have galbi! They also have ramen as well. To my surprise, they also serve vietnamese food here, Pho! I was looking at the menu and I couldn't believe my eyes. What we ordered: - Bowl of Pho (vietnamese rice noodle in a bowl of broth) with beef - Colorado roll - Illinois roll - Mississipi roll - Montana roll It's kinda weird that they give their rolls a state name because it's kinda confusing and doesn't really describe what the roll is. However, on the menu it gives you the state, the name of the roll and tells you what it consist of which helps. 1) Pho: It was alright, I had better. You have the option of choosing beef, pork, or chicken. We choose beef because you cannot go wrong with beef. When it came out, we were a bit disappointed because they only give you a few pieces of beef. The Pho was a bit pricey compare to a lot of places I've had pho. It's still pretty good and I'm just really happy that they finally serve Pho here in the Valley! But I wouldn't order that again unless I'm really craving it. 2) The rolls: HUGE portions, great presentation, not overstuffed with rice like all the sushi places in Mexicali and Calexico. Very generous with the amount of ingredients they put it. The piece of rolls are so huge that I had to take two bites! The taste and flavor is AMAZING! The soft shell crab roll was delicious! Only thing I didn't like about it was I think they over fried the soft shell crab because it was a bit dry on the inside. The lobster dynamite was everyones favorite! Real pieces of lobster on top of the rolls with their delicious sauce. In my opinion, I think they added a little too much sauce on top because the sauce was a bit overpowering. The Mississippi roll was the one our server recommended, which had fried onions on top of it and the roll had raw sashimi on top of it (if i'm not mistaken, I think it was albacore or tuna). The sashimi was very thinly sliced (wish it was thicker) and it was fresh and delicious, no nasty aftertaste! The last roll (I forgot the name of it) had a beautiful presentation, different colors of roe on top of it that gave it a crunchy texture. The sushi was just excellent, even better than most sushi joints in San Diego! I peaked over the kitchen and saw the chef and he looked Korean. I believe that this restaurant is owned by multiple Korean ajusshis like many sushi restaurants in San Diego. Last but not least, our server (forgot his name, but he was the only male working there at that time) was amazing! He was very helpful, proper, sweet and formal just the way a server should be. I have tried to buy food from this place a couple times because is the nearest japanese place from work, but it is always a cold treatment on the phone and not at all informative, they always say that there is no way that they can provide a menu to have at work and that we can get a flyer as soon as we pick up the order. Once I got to taste what one of my coworkers got, and I disliked it a lot; the food was too greasy (even the rice) to the point that it covered the actual taste of the food. Finally some good sushi in the valley!! Fresh, good portions, authentic and best of all - no cream cheese in everything!! If you're a fan of salmon skin rolls, get the salad. So fresh and delicious. My son's teriyaki kid's meal with soba noodles was really good quality. All the rolls we had were yummy, but I think my favorite is the one with popcorn lobster on top (the Missouri roll?). This review is long overdue, after 2 years of being a loyal customer it's time someone says the truth about this place.I used to come here all the time! I loved their soup, but man does that Asian lady (The owners wife) I'm assuming hate her life. She is ALWAYS mad, ALWAYS rude and ALWAYS has something to say. She makes me never want to go because of how rude she is. It's happened to me twice where they messed up on my order and brought me the wrong soup and still had the audacity to tell me that I ordered the wrong thing. This grown ass woman ROLLED her eyes at me for her employees messing up and bringing me the wrong soup. I told my waitress and she apologized and even told me the spicy ramen was from a packet, the nongshim red packet soup that they sell at Walmart for $1 to be exact! And to not go back and spend $10.78 on my soup there after how the old woman treated me. I'm an avid fan for sushi and have been for a while, while going to collage for Culinary Arts I learned many techniques. It wasn't until I got stationed in Japan that I really started to study the Art of Sushi. I could eat sushi everyday and often eat it several times a week. The sushi is pretty good here as far as quality, and the basic rolls are priced relatively fair. Although, I like ordering 4 or 5 at a time, so unless they drop the price I'll just keep going to my favorite place in Mexicali, Ichiban. Sushi Park has a pretty wide selection as far as fish is concerned. Their flavor and texture is good, and I really like the blend of Ponzu that they create; it's a great flavor with hints of soy, citrus, and slightly on the sweet side of the spectrum. I would give it 5 stars but there a little pricey for me to eat like I normally do; they really need an all you can eat place in the Valley for around $20-30.00. One of may favorite places to go is Joe's Sushi. If we had one out here with their (Sushi Park) quality I would be in there everyday lol! ;-) Another reason for the 2 is that the Owner, or Chef, seems to be extremely rude, or in a bad mood; every time I ask for Ponzu he gives you the "evil eye" and rations it out to you like some crazy man. I've eaten sushi so long that the flavor of soy on sushi is repulsive. I don't enjoy the flavor at all. Given the price I am paying I will eat what I want NOT what you tell me to eat! I have my little sushi routine that I go through and this is just as important as the sushi I am eating. I don't like the feeling that I get when I have to keep asking for what I like and being looked at all crazy. Just give it up! I have been to a few places like that (See our other reviews) and prefer Joe's because they give you what you want all for around $21 for lunch, and $25 for dinner. We'll keep going to this one because it's clean and got good flavor, we'd just like to see the guy lighten up a bit, and for prices to drop so that I can make this a regular visit. read more

My children, wife and I love this restaurant. Very warm welcome from Ms. Kim and Sam and the owner Mr Park. The soup and rice we order for my youngins always seem to hit the spot. Menu - very professional. Sushi chefs need a copy behind counter because "cooked" rolls all looked the same. Server ordering stations did not work properly. Machine supposedly dropped our entire order and had to be re-input to charge us. Management needs to plan for this happening. My wife's chicken teriyaki bowl had funny taste. Friendly staff, pretty good time on being served, easy parking, lots of choices, but I would prefer more tofu versions of the udon versions without seafood. When Sushi Park opened, I was relieved and extremely happy when their food was delish! The spicy seafood noodle soup is spicy and hits the spot every time. Their pho is also very good. For sushi, I get the Washington roll and it's super fresh all the time. If you want legit Korean food and sushi, Sushi Park is the only way to go.
