Make your reservation ahead of time and come! Sushi is the most affordable omakase and it was delicious!! *Overall impression ~ Everything was a 10! My favorite was actually the seafood broth they give you at the start of the course. I also LOVED the scallop and uni. Everything was soft, buttery, and sweet. I personally didn't dislike anything that was given during this omakase. I would definitely come back. The staff are attentive, sushi comes out really quickly, and it's just an overall vibe! Also it's BYOB so bring your drinks!!

I'm torn about sharing this because I don't want it to get too crowded (I need to be able to make my own reservations!), but this place is too good to keep to myself. I found this hidden gem of a sushi spot, and the sushi is incredible. The chu toro and otoro literally melt in your mouth - it's that fresh and perfectly prepared. Everything else I tried was just as tasty. Check out the pictures I'm including - they really say it all. This is the real deal. Just promise you won't tell too many people!

Sushi Que has made it onto my rotation! Located between Kyung's Seafood and Golden Pork, Sushi Que is serving up fresh seafood and sushi, omakase style. We have been coming here regularly since March. LOVE that it is BYOB. Fresh sushi, affordable omakase. This place always hits!!! I pictured it below, but there are so many highlights for this place... $120 Omakase is hard to beat. It also as supplemental rolls for purchase that I highly recommend - including spicy ahi and nodoguro. Parking is street parking only - normally we can find on a weekend. Weekdays are tougher. Can't wait until the next time we go!!! Cheers to Sushi Que on King Street.

Limited street parking on king st I got lucky and found one on the block right before sushi que Cheapest omakase ive had with great quality food. $100 base omakase with the option to add on at the end. And BYOB Reservations seem difficult though as its all done by hand still and gets full fast. One of those places that you make your next reservation while youre paying for your current one. Most unique thing about this place is the salt block. Lime your block, then wipe your sashimi across it before eating. No shoyu. Very very cozy place where it seems like everyone is a regular. Only a couple of tables and 10 counter seats. Theres only the sushi chef, waitress, and 1 girl dish washing. Highly recommend if you can get a res

Food was delicious but portions are small. You will need to stop by McDonalds after your meal. They do offer ala carte sushi if you are still hungry but my party agreed we would need to spend $200+ per person to get full.

Wow, such an incredible omakase experience and reasonable I might add :) I counted 15 different treats! Each one, full of flavor and presented delicately by Chef Takeo, with a few courses served by staff. Since it's BYOB, we started with a round of sake for Chef Takeo and his team. After everyone at the counter was seated, we all started with a RICH seafood broth. Wow! That got our fullest attention and deserved another pour of sake! After the seared ahi and okra, we were presented with a chilled salt slab and calamansi. Such a novel idea to enjoy three kinds of fresh sashimi :) Then we all had plump oysters. Loved the sea grapes as a topping to balance out the texture. Fun doesn't stop there, they presented us next with succulent lobster tail! So good!!! Our dining experience kept getting better when Chef presented the exquisite slices of otoro and chutoro, so yummy!!! Hard to pick a favorite course but if I had to, the flounder with shiso leaf is in my top 5 :) Next course was the ika with yuzu and then a generous portion of shrimp. The ikura was a fun burst and I gotta say, their seasoned rice and quality first harvest nori is exceptionally delicious! Love the smokey flavor :) Overall, this was an incredible omakase dining experience. The food was fresh and flavorful. Their service was fun and lively. Chef Takeo has a Ska Playlist that he's jamming to which I absolutely loved too. The best time to call is between noon and 5pm to make a reservation. As of September 9th, they are booked solid through November. Totally worth the wait!

With so many Japanese omakase restaurant selections in town now, Sushi Que gets my vote of quality, service, and value. The husband and wife duo has successfully gained a following where it takes a minimum of two months to get into the door. Pro tip: make future reservations when you're there. Seating times are 5:30pm and 7:30pm for the sushi counter. They have 9 seats. Regular tables have different time seating, but I prefer the counter. You'll leave full. At the end of the course you'll be given an option for additional until your hearts content.

Omakase dinner in Honolulu, Hawaii... If you're a brave eater and enjoy pleasant surprises, you will like Sushi Que! Along with its clever business name (que is "nine" in Japanese language), the place is cleanly modern (check out the convenient restroom), and the service is efficiently exceptional and personable! Our party of 3 sat at the sushi bar and conversed with the chef and server - they both have excellent English skills and are witty (ask them about their hiking and camping adventures and how they moved to Hawaii!) The food was over the top! Presentation, quality, taste... all of the little attention to details - like squeezing the lime juice on the Himalayan Salt slab and "shabu shabu-ing" the trio of sashimi across the slab... are much appreciated! Other standouts were the Lobster, wagyu, ikura, oyster, seafood bouillabaisse, Angel shrimp, and extra nori on the tip of the handroll so that the rice doesn't ooze out of the cone! It was one of the most fun foodie adventures! Thank you, Paul, for this super memorable experience and one of the best dinners ever!

Two months. That was the waiting time to come here with some good friends. You see, I took my sister and family to my go to place for omakase in January and the chef asked me casually if I had ever been to Sushi Que (SQ). I looked them up after I got home and read Randy S.'s review and glanced at tantalizing food porn. I texted some good friends where the wait was 2 months to secure seating for 3 people. Earlier tonight we arrived at SQ, which shares a small parking lot behind with Golden Pork. It was a state holiday today so we took advantage of street parking with counter reservations at 5pm. After we sat down the staff asked us if we needed glasses for our drinks as it's BYOB but these friends tonight are eaters and not into alcohol. Not too long after the remaining people for the 5pm counter reservations arrived, food was served to us by courses. Generally speaking, I was impressed with the chef's skills of various preparations of seafood. He clearly pays attention to detail and many dishes were executed well. My favorite of the evening was the torched shimaaji with yuzu kosho that hit so many notes in my mouth. The miso soup had finesse and clearly tasted the dedication and time spent to render the fish broth. We were asked of any allergies where I informed them my dislike of fish with shiny skin (i.e. saba and kohada), where the chef substituted the Saba offering with tuna instead. I also enjoyed the South Africa lobster tail that was cooked medium rare. Reminded me of eating something similar during my visits to Sasabune. Service was outstanding. Seems like a team of husband and wife where they worked in unison serving eager patrons. It was a full house when we left at 630pm. Come to find out, the couple knows Chef Ryuji, who suggested I come to SQ to try them out. This island is indeed small. Overall, a very satisfying meal spent with good friends on this Prince Kunio holiday. Didn't have to work all day today and ate out for all three meals today with good foodie friends, with the best as the omakase at SQ. I'm determined to drag my family here for dinner one night. NOTE: There are two seatings of 5pm and 730pm for their counter seating that fits 9 seats. Currently there's a 2 month waiting period as it's fully booked and they don't make reservations more than 2 months out.

Aloha, if you love sushi, Sushi Que is a must (if you can get in). It's also BYOB, which makes for a more affordable evening, yes! Chef's wife serves, while chef works hard preparing your next dish. They also love when you share some sake with them, LOL. It's a fun sushi bar! Sitting at the bar, there are 2 seatings. Whereas sitting at the tables (6 pax) seats at 6:30 (in between and overlapping the other2 seatings). They are well organized and it's a fun lively place. Solid sushi, easy access on King street, next door to Kyung's. Enjoy!

I was very fortunate to be included in a group dinner at a new Omakase restaurant called Sushi Que. Small location on King Street with a couple tables and an L shaped sushi counter that seats 9 guests is perfect for a nice and relaxing dinner. It's BYOB at the moment with no corkage fee which helps keep your costs down. The Great: $100 omakase that is simply amazing. Each course is fantastic and sit at the counter to watch a sushi master prepare each dish. You can also order additional items or revisit an omakase item at the end, I ended up adding on the O-Toro, YakiShirako, Nodaguro, and a Kawahagi to top off the evening. The chef and his wife are great hosts we had a lot of fun chatting with them through the evening. The Good: Due to it's small seating capacity you have to make a reservation well in advance. I believe they are already may be booked out a couple months but it is well worth the wait! The Okay: The only minor inconvenience is the parking. Very small lot behind the restaurant otherwise it will be looking for street parking in the neighborhood or King Street. Some in our group found parking a few blocks away but that's minor inconvenience for such a great experience! Overall: We noticed many Omakase style sushi bars opening over the last year but not many that can match the quality with the price. Highly recommend Sushi Que for anyone who loves great sushi!

Had the best time here during my mini moon with my hubs. The fish selection was exceptional and very fresh. You can tell this is a unique omakase spot just by the soup they serve for appetizer. It wasn't your average miso soup, but almost like a bouillabaisse. You honestly get a little of everything here: appetizers, sashimi, nigiri, hand rolls, 2 soups, and dessert. My favorite part of the meal was when they brought out the salt rock to eat with the 3 types of sashimi. This omakase spot is run by a husband and wife, who are the sweetest people. We can't wait to come back! Reservations are extremely hard to get as there aren't many seats, so always try to book in advance!

I also really enjoyed the Oil-Soy Tai Snapper with Fresh Salsa, which felt perfect for summer, and the Crispy Spicy Tuna Bites added a nice crunchy contrast to all the nigiri. After walking around, the hostess asked if we had a reservation. I gave her my name, but she said we didn't have one, even though the restaurant was nearly empty. She then explained that our reservation was actually at their sister restaurant around the other side of the building. We went over there and found that it was primarily a sushi restaurant, which wasn't really what we were looking for. We had expected more of an izakaya-style experience, so we canceled the reservation and returned to the original restaurant. Once seated, the service was good and our server was attentive throughout the meal. One thing that was a little confusing was that sushi and sashimi had to be ordered from the sister restaurant, even though we were dining in the other restaurant. The food was brought over and served to us without any issues, and there were no problems with the bill, but it took us a while to understand how the two restaurants operated together. We ordered several dishes, including chicken skin wrapped gyoza, crab tempura, an assorted sashimi platter, a cream cheese and fish roe appetizer served with toast, an egg dish topped with fish roe, chicken karaage, and the miso butterfish. The highlights for me were the chicken karaage, miso butterfish, and gyoza. I enjoyed them enough to order another round of the gyoza and chicken. That said, many of the dishes leaned toward the sweeter side of Japanese cuisine, which just isn't my personal preference. If you enjoy those flavors, your experience may be different. Overall, the food was good, the service was solid, and there were a few standout dishes. The confusion with the reservation, entrance setup, and relationship between the two restaurants got the evening off to an awkward start, but the meal improved once we were seated. I'm not really a Japanese food person, so four stars is probably the highest rating I could realistically give a Japanese restaurant. With that in mind, I thought they did a good job, and there were a few dishes I would consider ordering again.

The fish was fresh colorful and presentation didn't disappoint our evening. We were there when they opened adding a personal touch to our evening before the dinner crowd arrived. The sushi chef and his sous chefs worked together to get the food to their guests quickly. We were sitting at the sushi bar --- the dedication and smooth operation seemed fine to me. It was quiet loud when they welcomed guests which wasn't easy to handle but I understood why they were doing that. Loved the presentation of our choices which we took pics of. Thank you for a fun evening. We'll be back next year.

There were standouts and overall we loved the meal. A local id gets the 10% service fee removed which was nice. I would recommend the $150 lunch omakase - I don't think the $50 abalone dish was worth the upgrade.

Every piece of sushi was beautifully presented not overwhelming. You can really tell the chefs put a lot of thought into the balance of flavors and textures. One of my favorite bites was a sashimi piece topped with something that looked like finely grated cheese (not sure what it actually was), but it melted perfectly with the fish and added a really unique savory flavor. The chefs and staff also had a good sense of humor. At one point they served kinki fish and jokingly explained that the English translation sometimes gets called "idiot fish," which got everyone laughing at the counter. The omakase is definitely on the pricier side, but the quality, presentation, and overall experience made it very satisfying. If you're looking for a refined sushi experience with great service and beautifully crafted bites, this place is worth the splurge.

DOMO Café, you do NOT disappoint! Domo's Kahala location has quickly become our go-to, grab-and-go…read moresushi joint. Although they have a clean and comfortable space for dining in, we regularly stop by after church or on the weekends for something to savor at our favorite park. Seriously, it's easy to enjoy their bowls, sushi sets, or bentos anytime and anyplace. We've got a passion for this place. Here's how this love affair started...I discovered Domo when a friend invited me for some sushi and sips at her place. I was amazed at the beautiful platter of sushi that accompanied our sake and wine. My friends are the best hosts! I devoured the bombs, nigiris and rolls (in between sips!). Everything was simply delicious! Fast forward a few months, I order a couple sushi sets to host a poolside, golden-hour birthday get together at my other friend's home. (I know, you want to be part of this squad, right?!). Anyway, using the online order system is a snap! My hubby went in to pick up the sushi and said they were slammed but our sushi sets were ready to go. This time we ordered some ikura because the hubby and my bestie are big fans. Both agree it was fresh and fantastic! And the garlic set with the flash-seared fish and a hint of mayo is a MUST-try. We also ordered a California roll for my friend's aunt who is not really a sushi fan. She delighted in several pieces and even enjoyed the nigiri from the garlic set. Total convert! After enjoying the platters and sets, we had to try the bentos and bowls. This time it's just us and the pup at the park. The bentos provide a great variety and comes with miso soup. The hubby really likes the shrimp tempura with ahi and salmon nigiri and ahi poke. It's a steal at less than $20. I'm a bowl girl myself and like the spicy tempura. The tempura is cooked crisp yet tender. The spicy ahi poke combined with the creamy crab salad and the crunchy ocean salad delights all my tastes buds. It's truly an adventure in finding the perfect bite--and there are so many in this bowl! I also love the seared salmon bowl. It is melt-in-your-mouth goodness. I add the fried onions for some texture. You know a place is top-notch when you can feel confident that anything off their menu will satisfy your cravings. Because this is a Yelp review, here are some helpful tips. For sushi platters, pre-order. The online system is simple to use. Service is fast and efficient if you're just walking in for a quick bite or to grab something to go. Parking has always been easy for us to find in the small lot in the complex where Domo is located. It's right next to Assagio's Kahala. But if you're worried about parking, I suggest ordering in advance and then just picking up. This works great during peak dining hours. If you want fresh, delicious sushi that is reasonably priced be like us and visit Domo Café. You will probably also be like us and want to go back to try more.

The garlic salmon didn't have too much smokiness which I liked. They are not stingy when filling the inari with the spicy ahi. I did online ordering for easy pick up since the parking lot can be filled during dinner rush.
