Once we get to the restaurant we are told that they don't actually do that anymore and that it can't be applied. Talk about FALSE ADVERTISEMENT. Then the manager at the front says she will honor it this time and have the sign removed online so I'm thinking ok we will just eat in next time and she comes back and says ACTUALLY NO we just can't do this. Mind you the 20% off would have been a whopping $4 off our bill ???? Ridiculous! They called the entire management and even the head of franchise for this online discount that they were advertising just to say too bad we just aren't going to do it. I have been holding off on my review of this place because I wanted to be fair and not rate based on emotions. The food is not the best but not the worst either as I have dined here over a dozen times. I suppose if it was that terrible, I wouldn't have come back, but honestly, I mostly come here because of convenience and not because I am in love with their food. The place is cute and their logo is super cute. They have indoor and outdoor seating and a big screen TV that was playing an old movie. What I don't like about this place is that I always leave somewhat dissatisfied. One day they refused to provide a box for my leftover because we got the dine in special. This to me was petty, especially since it was not a one person party. If they are that cheap to provide a box just charge for it. I had to throw away food perfectly good. I had other incidents but the last one was upsetting based on how things unfolded. They did not wish to honor the Yelp Check-in offer, a free California roll with a purchase of either $15 or $20, can't remember. I told the young man I would have to reflect that in the review and the answer was surprising. I was buying 3 dine-ins and three to go meals. What does is cost to make a California roll, a little rice and imitation crab meat? I was told by Yelp that vendors handle their own offers. First time here and you have to figure out if you just sit down or order first...well you walk in and you have you order and pay at the counter then go find a seat. The workers here are very nice and hospitable and the food is brought to your table. The food is always fresh and they have such a great variety of sushi. I love the dragon roll and the new york roll! They bring the food out pretty quickly and it tastes great! I will def be back for more food. My co workers wanted to get food here one Friday. The place delivers which was great because we were looking for easy and convenient but still good food. This place was a miss for me. We called to place the order and the woman who answered could not take the order. She was so confused. She had to keep putting me on hold to ask the manager for confirmation. I asked for Red Curry with Vegetables only...easy enough right? She paused for a long moment and then placed me on hold. When she came back, I said, "I'd like it extra spicy please" and she placed me on hold again. Then when it came to placing my coworkers orders, it was the same thing, on hold, on hold, on hold, while she asked someone in the background questions. It wasn't a complicated order. We didn't deviate from the menu options except for the red curry with vegetables instead of chicken. Placing the order was very difficult and time consuming. When everything arrived, it was all correct surprisingly. My red curry only had green and red peppers inside with maybe two small carrots...weird but ok. The flavor of the sauce was decent so I basically ate white rice with sauce and a tempura sushi roll for $22.00 but that was because of tax, delivery fee and tip. I think it I had dined in, it would have been SLIGHTLY less. That's too much to spend on a mediocre lunch, that's for sure. I doubt I'll order from here again. Simply put, this place sucks. They are very stingy with sauce and do not honor Yelp offers (like the free California roll). I also noticed that they started serving "white tuna" DO NOT order anything with white tuna in it. It's not actually tuna, it's a fish (forgot the name) that is known to give people terrible stomach aches because it is hard to digest. In terms of the actual product, I feel like the sushi is too big. I usually wouldn't complain about big portions at a restaurant but the sushi rolls are so big that they are hard to eat and even pick up with chop sticks. I love the concept of to-go sushi but this place is a miss for me. Semi-irrelevant side note: the owner/manager is very unfriendly. I never write a review but this is the exception! I just ordered a chicken salad something simple enough I thought. I wanted a nice fresh salad but received a sweaty moist salad. This use to be one of my favorite spots, as I love to eat organic food; I'm always on the go & this is a mix of a fast food & a restaurant, making it perfect for my lifestyle. A couple weeks later, I ordered delivery & it was fantastic, 20$ and change was my total. The next day I call, wanting to order THE EXACT SAME THING! "I'm sorry Carlos, but the minimum is 25$." After speaking to the manager and being informed of this "New Policy" I ordered something on the side to make my total suffice. After 2 successful orders I finally start to think we're on schedule just to be told the 3rd time that the policy is actually 30$ not 25$. I explained to them that I order from this place often as hell to the point where the employees have my order memorized but that wasn't good enough. All I heard was "I'm sorry but I don't know who did that for you, but the minimum is 30." No remorse, not a sound of sympathy or concern. What a slap in the face. I'm done.
