The good first: it's a great price, the line moves quickly despite how long it can get at lunch time (though you may have to wait a few minutes to pick up your order), and they have a varied menu of sushi and curry (with vegetarian options). The reason it only gets 3 stars: I don't think the sushi is very good, and the lunch bowl (which you can get with extra fish for just a few dollars extra) isn't super flavorful. Either the fish and rice need to be better, or it needs a sauce that isn't soy (too salty, no chance of tasting anything). There is extremely limited seating in this skyway location, and if you do choose to eat in there, everyone waiting on line will be standing on top of you. Definitely more of a take-away place, at least during the lunchtime crush.

I was surprised it's in an office building thinking the food and quality would be subpar but I was completely wrong. Felt like a blue collar work lunch eating there which made feel real and somehow you were treated food made for a king.

Lunch hour was very fast service. There isn't really much dine in option. I got a miso soup and a bowl. The bowl was at best mediocre but was very affordable. The miso soup wasn't anything to write home about, but overall the speed of service and the price is what drove up my rating.

This place is located on the second floor of the Baker Center. They are very efficient and fast and the prices are extremely affordable. I ordered the sushi bowl and a shrimp tempura roll and a miso soup all for less than $19. The food tastes very good as well.

Loved going here for lunch. I'd kinda given up hope on good lunch spots in the downtown area since the pandemic. But finding this place was a happy surprise. It's located in the baker center. I went for lunch and there was along line but they moved us through pretty fast! Great service. Easy menu. And amazing prices too! I got a sushi bowl and Miso. The miso is 75cents with a sushi bowl order. If you get the sushi bowl but don't want the raw fish. They will sub it out for you! I t was really yummy and the perfect lunch potion. Will be back for sure. They have so many other options!

I ordered the lunch special which is a sushi bowl with spicy tuna, salmon, yellowtail, avocado, spicy mayo, and tempura flakes. The flavor was great and it was a great deal for $8.95. Would recommend to anyone craving some sushi for lunch!

Cheap and yummy! Stopped here for a quick lunch and got the lunch special which is the bowl. Comes with salmon, tuna, and yellowtail with avocado, tempura crispies, spicy Mayo, and rice - and a side of miso soup! Came with ginger and wasabi and soy sauce on the side. Costs under $9 and is worth it! It was filling and yummy. Fish wasn't the highest quality but still yummy. The service was also fast!

My very first first meal in Minnesota! Yuuuum! Amazing sushi bowls. Extremely tasty. The people working here are extremely sweet and willing to go above and beyond for a quick service! Clean restaurant too! To find this restaurant you have to go onside the building***

After visiting the MIA, we were starving and looking for food nearby, I found this spot. We both got the Combo A. The rolls are freshly made to order. The wasabi is just right and you get plenty of it. We got a total of 32 pieces (two combos) for $26 and some change.I will go back next time I am in town!

Stopped by for lunch when I was working downtown. Usually there's a long line closer to noon but we got there a little early and was able to get our order in. I got the lunch special sushi bowl, it's a great deal and was good. I also got a shrimp tempura udon and I enjoyed that as well. The prices were very reasonable for sushi and udon. The staff was very friendly and the orders moved fast. There is little seating so you might be out of luck if you come here during a rush and looking to dine in. I would come here again for affordable sushi!

Solid lunch special for $8.95 (Oct 2022 prices) and you can add a miso soup for $0.75. Delicious sushi bowl of mixed fish and spicy mayo and avocado Conveniently located inside so easy to get to from the gerbil tubes without having to brave the cold. Takeout only so meant for workers to eat it back at their desks.

I understand why this spot is so popular for lunch. I arrived at around 11:30 and there was a consistent line out the door the entire time I was there. They have a few chairs there to eat at, which I did, but most customers took it to go. Delicious, affordable and filling! I got the curry udon which came with chicken karaage and I couldn't even finish the whole bowl. Was so delicious and a hefty serving for only $8! Flavorful with perfectly chewy noodles and seaweed/scallion garnishes. Will definitely be back!

There is a great variety of rolls so everyone is going to be pleased with the meal. The restaurant itself is tight on space but the dining experience makes up for it. I recommend you beat the dinner rush and go early when they reopen for the evening. Warning, it does get really busy almost everyday because it is just that good! Location-wise it is great because if you struggle to find parking in the small lot next to the spot, you can park on a residential street behind the restaurant and take a short stroll. It was far too cold for me to walk anywhere and this was not far from the place I was staying. I was pleasantly surprised as in reading about the sushi train and how it work I felt a bit better about my experience. They have RFIDs on the plates so they know how long it's been going around and then take it off so it doesn't go bad. They had a great variety and there were a couple item that go by on the belt that you have to ask your server for, so you know it is fresh. Legit do not know how to feel about this place…read more On one hand, service is pretty okay, conveyor belt sushi is always fun, and this place is large enough that you get a serious conveyor belt experience as it snakes all over the restaurant. On the other, the menu has somewhat different things I am still not sure how I feel about. Peanut butter and jelly sandwich (err, roll?) I guess is a good and welcome attempt to expand to more American palates, even if it seemed odd. There were some cakes or something also out that, well, some seemed like what I expected, some others did not. They clearly labeled things on the plate holders on the conveyor belt (never seen it done quite so, uh, obviously, before), and since they have six tiers of plates (by color), they can price things accordingly as well. Not going to lie, even tho sashimi was pricer and it looked like the coloring was doing a lot of work, it was nice to have a protein-heavy option without the carbs (as much as I love rice...). Speaking of, their rice is actually decent enough in quality. I guess the overall experience is passable enough, even if it wasn't cheap.

There were gnats, yes, but it wasn't bad. But it did strike me that we were warned, but then no mention was made about what to do if the plague descended. Not a good start to the evening. We waited maybe 15 minutes until water arrived, at which point the server said he'd be back to take drink orders. Another 15 minutes later we ordered drinks. We saw them 20 minutes later and ordered then. First round of food arrived 20 minutes after that (arancini, quite good -- the highlight of the meal). But then it was a 40 minute wait until the second round of food came. By this point we were starving. There is simply no reason to have to wait that long for small plates. The same overly familiar server thanked us for our patience, said that he checked on the order assuming it got lost but then was informed that no, it's just slow. I said that, yes, we had been waiting long and that we were getting quite hungry. He assured us our mains would not be that long and then added "Yes, this has been the shift from hell." The mains did arrive more promptly, and they were... fine. The pasta was overcooked by a fair degree, and sauces were of a quality that any decent amateur home cook could make themselves. The pizza had an excellent crust. But when you're paying this much for a meal, you want more than a good pizza pie. Server arrived later saying that to apologize for the wait, desserts would be comped, but then... we waited so long to put in a dessert order we just asked for our check. So: incredibly slow. Service that was overly familiar to the point of reminding us that we were having a terrible time. And then no adequate compensation was made for the fact that we were having an awful time ON MY HUSBAND'S BIRTHDAY, which I had noted when I made the reservation. So, diners beware.
