Omg i loved my lunch omakase here! The services and food were amazing. I also got the chili plum wine and I loved it. The price for lunch is a great deal with all kind of sushi and soup. Must try! The restaurant looks a bit small but the bar seating is awesome!

My friend and I enjoyed a lunch omakase at Sushi Takeda this past Tuesday for 110pp. I made a reservation a few weeks in advance on Tock (had to pay 60pp deposit up front that we were refunded back upon arrival). We sampled 18 different bites, ranging from nigiri to cooked appetizers, and ended the meal with their house made yuzu soda, which was bright, not too sweet, and nicely carbonated. The rice quality is pretty good, but a bit stickier than I expected. The ginger was sweet with a strong pungent zing. SESAME TOFU Stickier than normal and paired with a sweet soy sauce. Very nutty. MADAI (RED SNAPPER) Light flavored fish, but the bit of pickled(?) veggies added a nice kick. AKAMI (LEAN B.F. TUNA) Fresh and enhanced by the slightly sweet soy sauce. It melted in my mouth and definitely one of the best akamis I've had. AJI (SPANISH MACKEREL) Topped with ginger, green onion, and seaweed. Very briny and smooth fish. The overall flavor reminded me of a seasoned grilled fish. IKA MESHI (STUFFED SPEAR SQUID) Fresh flavor and crunch, but not sure if I enjoyed it stuffed with rice. The light dashi gravy was a nice touch. SAWARA (KING MACKEREL) Smoked and topped with yuzu daikon radish. Fruity and bright with a bit of mellow crunch from the daikon and a lingering salty after taste. KAKI (OYSTER) Slightly poached and marinated, topped with yuzu. Almost crunch like texture; mildly briny with a bright citrus flavor. Very "sea sweet." CHAWAN MUSHI Topped with steam crab and mixed with a bit of herb. Very smooth custard with a bit of yuzu mixed in for brightness. KINMEDAI (GOLDEN EYE SNAPPER) Smooth, very delicate flavor that was hard to pick out. Not my favorite. CHU TORO (MEDIUM FATTY B.F. TUNA) Very creamy and instantly melted in my mouth. Elevated a bit with soy sauce. One of our favorite bites! IWASHI MAKI (SARDINE ROLL) Instead of seaweed, it was wrapped in pickled daikon. Salty and a bit juicy with a nice crunch. Very interesting. BURI (WILD YELLOWTAIL) Bright and citrusy which paired well with the more delicate flavors of yellowtail. Light soy sauce was nice. BOTAN EBI (CURED SPOT PRAWN) Very sweet and soft, lightly seasoned with soy sauce. MISO SOUP Very lightly seasoned with a few mushrooms for earthiness. Very warm and soothing. MINI UNI IKURA BOWL Sushi rice topped with red and purple uni from Hokkaido and soy-marinated ikura. The red uni was sweeter and more custard-like, while the purple uni was more briny and earthy. Ikura was juicy and fresh. Probably my favorite course. ANAGO (SEA EEL) Soft, broiled eel with a bit of citrus brightness from yuzu and topped with sea salt. TAMAGO ROLL The tamago was paired with a deep-red pickled vegetable that was a bit sweet. Almost like a dessert, it was a good end to the omakase. This was definitely one of the better omakases I've had that offers a variety of nigiris and appetizers at a lower price point. I wasn't 100% full, but I was satisfied with the courses. They do use yuzu to brighten the courses (at least 4-5 were done in this way). Overall, my friend and I really enjoyed the omakase, and we both agreed that Sushi Takeda is worth coming back to!

Service: Fantastic. We got the sake sampler and the server presented and poured each bottle and was adept at explaining the profile of each one. Each sake chosen for the sampler was a great choice and the pour was enough that me and my partner could each have some. Ambiance: quiet, simple, semi-formal. Located upstairs hidden away in little Tokyo, restaurant itself is quite small and traditional feeling with the sushi bar being the mean feature for omakase with a few scattered tables. Food: For 2 people after tax, 20% tip, and sake sampler, the bill was over $800. It is $300 per person for the omakase. I don't feel it was worth this price. $300+ is the price of a Michelin starred establishment. While I left very very full and can say the fish quality was great, some of pieces of nigiri, almost 1/3 just had way too much wasabi on them. I don't have any problem with wasabi but wasabi is meant to cut the fishiness and complement the fish, not overwhelm and obscure its qualities. This omakase was more edomae traditional style, focused on nigiri, but didn't feel the presentation of the nigiri or the other non-nigiri courses were enough for me to come back here and spend Michelin star prices when I've been to $180 and $220 omakases for cheaper that made me want to return.

Service was so helpful and sweet... clean and fresh Food was delicious and refine Flavor was out of Japan anime and movies Quiet and reserved Drinks were smooth and nice The pictures give it justice This place is in the plaza 3rd floor

Came for dinner at the bar. Loved the nigiri omakase and the chef was so kind and delightful! All around a great experience. The fish was of incredibly fresh quality, and I really liked the oyster, tempura and chawanmushi in between the nigiri as well. It was a bit wasabi heavy but nothing I couldn't handle. The rice was also nicely vinegared and held together just perfectly. The chutoro and mackerel roll were standouts.

It was easy to make a reservation through Tock, and the overall experience was smooth and organized. When I arrived, they gave me the option to wait for a seat at the bar or sit at one of the tables. For an omakase, the price point is quite reasonable for lunch. The service was attentive throughout the meal and they always made sure my beverage was topped off. However, the fish didn't taste as fresh as I expected. Maybe it was just an off day, but nothing in particular stood out from the pieces. It wasn't bad, just not especially memorable.

Sushi takeda $120/person Omakase 1. house made sesame tofu (5/5, very creamy) 2. Ginger (palate cleanser) 3. Japanese green fish (5/5) 4. Marinated bluefin tuna. Dries for 8 days. (5/5, not fatty) 5. Spanish mackerel with seaweed and wasabi (5/5, firm texture and not fishy flavor like normal mackerel) 6. Ni ika squid (5/5, warm, very tender and creamy. Innards are included inside the small pieces) 7. King mackerel smoked with hay and topped with yuzu and daikon (4/5, stronger smoked fish flavor) 8. Sea cucumber marinated with green tea and topped with daikon as a palate cleanser (3/5, texture like nata de coco. Firm, crunchy, slimy, but tasty) 9. Chawanmushi. Steamed egg custard with shrimp broth, king crab, and yuzu (5/5, so good. Creamy, crab was perfect and yuzu flavor was complimentary to the egg custard) 10. Golden eye snapper (4/5, nothing too special about this one) 11. Otoro tuna dried for 2 weeks (5/5, sweet, fatty, rich but not overly so) 12. Sardine roll with shiso wrapped in seaweed and pickled daikon (3/5, not my favorite) 13. Wild yellowtail (4/5, thick cut, yuzu flavor was nice to match the mild flavor of fish) 14. Hotate scallop (10/5, so creamy and sweet and the amount of wasabi was perfect) 15. Clear soup with fresh water weed (4/5, good hot soup, fresh water shield had an interesting gelatinous texture) 16. Saba Japanese mackerel (5/5, nice flavor, slightly sweet sauce and pickled vegetable were a good combo) 17. Uni and ikara (fresh marinated salmon eggs (10/5, delicious, together phenomenal. Best uni I've ever tasted with such a sweet flavor) 18. Tamago custard with shrimp, scallop and snapper, black sugar and egg yolk 19. Birthday dessert: hojicha pudding (5/5, not too sweet, nice flavor and very smooth texture, roasted green tea) 20. House made yuzu soda Can order extras from what you ate during the omakase so we got extra otoro and scallop, blue crab hand roll (very sweet crab meat, good ratio of rice to crab) and hagashi (super fatty tuna, very good, very sweet, no sinew, delicious) Atmosphere was very relaxing, soothing music. They ask everyone to turn the volume off on their phones so there's no interruptions. No rushing to eat fast or get you out to get another table in. they let you take your time and enjoy the food. Very quick and efficient service. Staff is very knowledgeable and willing to educate you on what you're eating Small restaurant. Only 8 seats at the bar and 6x 4-tops. Best to make a reservation

Lunch omakase $110/pp Tuesday to Thursday, and $120/pp Friday and Saturday. We came on a Wednesday and the entire meal was excellent, felt like we walked straight into a sushi bar in Japan. Highly recommend. Parking was $15 for me even with validation of a purchase at the market downstairs (-___-)

Came here as a birthday surprise and had an amazing experience. The atmosphere was friendly and welcoming. We were seated at a private table near the entrance instead of the bar, which we really appreciated. We've been to several omakase restaurants before, but none of them were very memorable. This one was by far the best omakase we've had so far. Everything was delicious, and the service was excellent. They even surprised us with a birthday dessert at the end, which made the night extra special. Definitely coming back!

Highly recommended by all of my friends! I've become a big fan too. Sushi Takeda is one of the most memorable omakase experiences I've had in LA. The quality of the fish is outstanding--clean, precise flavors, perfect temperature, and thoughtful pacing from start to finish. Every piece felt intentional, and you can tell Chef Takeda really respects the ingredients. The balance between traditional technique and subtle creativity was exactly what I look for in an omakase. Service was warm, attentive, and professional without feeling stiff. The atmosphere is intimate and calm, making it great for a date night or a special occasion. Reservations are worth it--this is the kind of place you want to bring friends who truly appreciate sushi. Highly recommend Sushi Takeda if you're looking for a refined, high-quality omakase in Little Tokyo.

We came for a Saturday lunch for my husband's birthday, and this was the perfect celebratory omakase! I don't often find lunch omakases, but Saturday lunch was the only time we had free, so I was pumped to find something so refined and at such a great price for lunch! We were seated promptly at the bar (note: you can only get sushi bar seating with an 11:30am res), offered water or tea, and the fish came shortly after. Each piece was delicate, delicious, and meticulously made/explained by Chef Takeda himself. We loved the Spanish mackerel (soy glaze on top was fab, and there was such a tasty meatiness), uni ikura bowl, oyster chawanmushi (perfect level of briney-ness).. honestly everything! The miso soup had such depth of seafood flavor. I think there were 15-16 courses; all of this for $120pp! For my husbands birthday, they gave us a green tea crème brûlée which was a perfect end alongside their housemade yuzu soda. Thanks for the lovely birthday meal, Sushi Takeda! We'll be back next time we're in LA!

First time here enjoying a omakase at Sushi Takeda located in Little Tokyo. It is in the same area in the Weller Court. On the second floor below the Marukai Market. My friend really loves this place and wanted us to try it out. She has been coming here yearly for about five years and it was a great dinner. The chefs and service was very traditional and each course that was served to us, was given a nice description. We sat at the sushi bar so it was very inviting and also super clean. The place looks nice and everyone enjoyed the food. Overall I would for sure recommend this spot!

Solid authentic omakase that doesn't break the bank. Chef focuses on traditional top tier quality ingredients and doesn't stray off with the gold flakes, truffle etc. The stand out for me was the uni and Hairy crab Chawanmushi. The other dishes were great too but that's standard for quality omakase. Staff was very nice and attentive. Ambience was great. Highly recommended

Ask the Community - Sushi Takeda

How long is the signature dinner omakase?

We were there for about two hours from start to finish, we left full, and we are foodies.

    How much is the omakase?

$110 for lunch, $140 dinner at table, $160 dinner at bar, and $280 signature omakase at bar! You must book online and pay a deposit that's refunded at arrival :)

Are the 12 nigiri serve at lunch the same fish they serve at dinner?

The staff did mention during my visit that the nigiri may change daily but overall should be consistent from lunch to dinner. I believe the only variations may be based on amount of servings.

    How much is the omakase?

$140 per person (Nigiri) or $280 per person(signature, must reserve a week before)

When do they release next month dates for reservation on Tock.com? Thanks

Reservations can be made for any dates within 30days from today through Tock or contacting directly.

If I wanna order a few more pieces of sushi after the 12-piece nigiri omakase is done, if it possible?

Yes, Chef Hide typically asks if you'd like any additional pieces before concluding the meal with the final piece of white fish castella.

Do they have the plastic partition setup for Covid?

No but they space people apart and there are only a few other guests in the whole restaurant with you!

    What is the dress code?

    Casual

Do they have a byob policy?

    Yes this establishment is byob

How can I make a reservation they are not picking up their phone?

They are on Tock.com. I would pick the $100 (lunch) Omakase or $120 (Omakase) (dinner) over the $250 Omakase. The value of the $150 difference is not evident. Great deal for $100/ $120

Can I order for delivery? If so, through what app? Thank you

One of the best sushi spots I've had a in a while actually. We didn't really do any appetizers and went straight in for the fish. Started off with a couple of hand rolls, we did the crab hand roll and O toro hand roll. Crab hand roll wasn't as impressive, I've had better to be honest. I didn't let that experience ruin it for me because the toro hand roll was delicious. I think they add a piece of mint and it complimented the hand roll. Very crunchy nori wrapper and good rice to fish ratio. For our sushi we started with chu toro tuna, salmon belly, and halibut. Super fresh melt in your mouth quality. Halibut was interesting with the truffle, first time definitely won't be the last. We ended it with red snapper and black snapper. Nice of the chef to switch out roe for halibut for me on my omakase. However, probably the worst omakase I've ever had. No creativity, nothing felt premium, chewy fish, flavors didn't mesh, and half of it was salty. The miso soup wasn't scorching, which i appreciated at first but that meant the last few sips were fairly room temp. The real crab handroll was good. If the price point was $35 sushi set I'd give 5/5 but this is supposed to be premium omakase. I've been to other Sushi Enya locations and had good experiences, so this was very disappointing. Stick to the rolls and nigiri.

Long story short, our dining experience felt rushed. We waited about 45 min- an hour for a table. Once we were seated, we were pushed to order right away. I had come here before but it was my husband's first time dining. He needed more time to decide and look over the menu. Well he didn't get much of a chance to look at what he wanted to eat because the server was standing there waiting. Literally staring. What would you like to order? I explained to her that it was his first time here and he needed time to look over the menu and asked her if she can come back later. She proceeded to say it will take longer to get our orders in and delay the kitchen staff. That didn't end there. Right after our food was served, one of the servers came by to ask if everything was ok and if we needed anything. We said no. Shortly after, the server dropped the bill at our desk. Mind you, we were not even close to finishing our meal. I understand there are other customers waiting for a table but you shouldn't be rushing the customers currently eating. They clearly prioritize turning tables faster to make profit. It was not a pleasant or enjoyable dining experience. I would choose another sushi spot.

I believe that…read morethis is one of the best places to go for AYCE sushi (specifically the nigiri) when taking cost into account. I find that a lot of the criticism levied against Tokyo Haus expects a restaurant that caters to all types of customers. I find that restaurants are like works of art in that art that tries to appeal to everyone won't appeal to anyone. I think Tokyo Haus's excellence will always be found in the AYCE option. That's what makes it a great restaurant. Becoming a regular here has been a delight, especially after finding our favorite items and sections of the menu. The service was unremarkable at first, but with some geniality and consideration, the servers will open up to you and take care of you. Over the past year or so, we've come to appreciate Alex, who always makes sure our meals are delicious. The restaurant itself is temperate and not too loud with plenty of space between tables/booths. The music playing is not too loud and allows for conversation to flow. They upgraded their ordering system to a tablet-based system a while ago, which has greatly streamlined the ordering process. If you're looking for recommendations on what to order, I highly recommend trying one of the AYCE options and ordering the lemon pepper salmon nigiri (I order at least 50 pieces of it every time!). The eel, salmon, and tuna nigiri are also great choices. The cucumber salad is a new favorite side we found, alongside the brussel sprouts, edamame, and green beans.

I think the nigiri has great rice/fish proportions, and the takoyaki and green beans are my personal favorite appetizers. We love the lemon pepper salmon, very smokey and peppery, but also bright and zesty! Shoutout our host Alex, who made our night fantastic! A week ago we came in a large group celebrating a birthday, and Alex quickly got us seated and set up. It was the first time using the new tablet system for a few of us, but they were very accommodating to make sure things went smoothly. At the end they brought out dessert and helped us wish our friend a happy birthday. Alex was very friendly and brought amazing vibes to our dining experience, definitely made our celebration one to remember! If you're reading this tysm :)

I really enjoyed this sushi spot. Unlike many sushi restaurants that offer combo plates, omakase,…read moreor sushi specials, this place is entirely à la carte, so you build your meal piece by piece. While that can add up quickly, the quality made it worth it for me. Every sushi item we ordered was incredibly fresh and tasted great. The fish was clean, flavorful, and clearly high quality. Nothing felt like an afterthought, and I was happy with everything we tried. Another plus is that they validate 2 hour parking in the same plaza, which made the visit much more convenient. My only minor complaint is that the pace of service was extremely fast. The sushi came out so quickly that I felt a little rushed through the meal. It's certainly better than waiting forever for food, but I would have appreciated a bit more time to relax and enjoy each round before the next dishes arrived. Overall, the food was excellent and I'd gladly return. If you're looking for fresh, high-quality sushi and don't mind ordering everything à la carte, this place is definitely worth a visit.
