My family and I spent several days at downtown LA for a trip. We ended up staying at the Downtown Hilton right near Little Tokyo. A few of our dinners ended up being in the Little Tokyo area, and one of the nights, we stopped by Tokyo Haus. Reservations were required at the time and we did end up going on a wait list. It was about 20 minute wait for a Sunday evening. We didn't order from the ACYE menu, just the standard menu offered by Tokyo Haus. Even though it was really busy, once we were seated at a table, we spent less than an hour at the restaurant. The menu has a variety of noodle dishes, Sushi, appetizers, salads, bowls and plate options. We ended up ordering the following BBQ Chicken Bowl Soy Garlic Pork Belly Chicken Teriyaki Bowl Edamame My daughter enjoyed the chicken teriyaki bowl. I liked the Edamame, but didn't enjoy the BBQ Chicken Bowl. The steamed veggies were cold. My husband also liked the Soy Garlic Pork Belly. Okay. Let's start with the good first. Service was fine, we had no complains. Our waitress was checking up on us, made sure we always had water and was nice. The ambiance is interesting, I liked the lamps. Well, the one star is for actual food! We had all you can eat option. The only good food i tried was the seaweed salad. And the rolls were just bad... first of all it is first time i am eating such a warm sushi and rolls. And no, Not the cooked hot ones, but just the normal ones which should be cold were warm which already tasted weird. Second we figured that the rice is the problem. It either had too much vinegar or I don't know what they do there, it just had such a weird taste. Not just my opinion, the whole friend group agreed that rolls have weird taste. It is just not what you expect when you go to eat some delicious sushi. Here, is quantity but 0 quality. My daughter found this AYCE sushi place the night before we left LA. There were different tier prices based on what types of sushi you wanted. We liked that most options had only 4 rolls, that way you can try everything and try more options. The entire party needs to be there in order to be seated. We didn't have to wait long before being seated. You order on the iPad at the table. Ambiance was authentic Japanese decor and staff help was friendly and attentive. This Haus in little Tokyo is definitely nice and with a little spice! So let me tell ya what I got besides my Bento Box and rice! LoL! We came here for brunch after hours of shopping and browsing and it definitely satisfied. I just asked what was recommended because we really didn't want to think or look through the whole menu. So our server hooked us up with some of their lunch specials. We had the Spicy Udon, Bulgogi Bento Box and Chicken Bento along with another Udon but this one was with seafood. I love that even if you get AYCE, the restaurant is not lazy with their plating as they serve them to you so beautifully. I would describe them as high end sashimi bento boxes. The service here is also great, especially from the hostess/waitresses. If you're a fan of more raw sashimi options, I'd just go ahead and do the top premium menu, but if you're ok with more of a mix of spicy tuna, crab, and eel rolls, then any of the others will do. My friends and I have been coming to this place for about two years, and it is our absolute favorite AYCE spot! I believe they semi-recently changed management, and the prices have gone down, while the quality and service have been the same if not better. All the servers and staff are wonderful and attentive, but Alex is the absolute best! She is always so sweet and genuine, helped surprise me on my birthday, and helped us out when we made a mistake with the new tablet ordering system. In terms of actual food and dishes, I think the nigiri is the most satisfying thing to eat here. The fish tastes good, of course, but the rice is also perfectly seasoned, and the ratio of rice to fish is good! Not too much rice! Simple nigiri like the salmon, tuna, tamago, and shrimp are super good, but I also love love LOVE how they make the lemon pepper salmon. I haven't had anything like it anywhere else, since it's zesty but also very savory and smokey (?) I've had literal dreams about it, I really recommend it! I also always get brussel sprouts (charred, super flavorful and saucy and with lots of garlic mmmmm), but the green beans and garlic edamame are great too! I usually do the A menu because my favorite part is the nigiri anyway, but I get the B when I bring friends who love more of the roll options and meats! It's worth it regardless! I've become a regular for so many reasons, and whenever I'm down or have something to celebrate it's so easy to come here knowing I'll have a great time. I get overstimulated pretty easily at a lot of spots with loud music, crowded table set ups, or weirdly low or high lighting. This place is just right, in terms of sound and light and space, and I love that I can take my time deciding what I want to order with the tablets, while still getting checked in on and helped by the servers. So we went to this establishment and we picked the lunch specials on a Friday. The price was different as it landing over the weekend $40 plus. The food was simi ok but not the best flavors if a high amount of price you are charging with little amount of choices you offered. My favorite of all the food we tried is your lemon and pepper salmon sushi. It's was a hit and miss on the consistency on tease and flavor as well on some of your rolls. For example we got some of the rolls to be served warm or hot to where you're not burning my month but you had one side warm and the other side cold.....? I tried each sushi I liked on choices you offered but just not feeling the hype. I'm not sure if I would recommend this spot to others . Because of the lack of tease and flavor . My friend and I did the a la cart menu (not the AYCE) and spent about $70 in total, including a bottle of soju. For a small party, I was not bothered by needing to wait 10-minutes in between orders. This actually made us put more thought into what we wanted. The spicy rolls (Jessica Roll, Jalapeño Albacore Roll) were great! As someone who doesn't have a high spice tolerance, I felt that these had a nice spice balance. We got some fresh salmon Nigiri, the Dynamite Roll and the Unagi Lover. The salmon was really fresh, the unagi lover roll had cream cheese, eel, avocado and salmon. It tasted terrific, the perfect combination of creamy, sweet and savory. The Dynamite Roll is felt like had way too much crab mix on top. I feel like it was not necessary, I would have preferred it with the langostino, scallops and mushrooms on top only. That crab mix just didn't really taste the best. The sushi pieces are still connected at 1 point but will separate if you hold it up long enough for gravity to act. The bbq is NOT worth it. Overly greasy and tough bland pieces of meat. I did not appreciate the pacing of the nigiri and sashimi items. They took way too long and with such an empty restaurant and sloppy knife work, it really should've come out earlier. The lemon pepper salmon was about the only tasty sushi on the menu. Sad that the menu said cheesecake was included but they gave half a mochi ice cream for 2 people and didn't even ask which flavor we wanted. I walked by the freezer, they had quite a few flavors. Update: Here is some research that may apply, if it it does, the owner or management of this establishment should serious consider changing their policy: The LA Municipal Code appears to require that restrooms for public use be readily accessible to customers - is someone who places a take out order and pays the restaurant in exchange for food a "customer"? Also. under LA County code, every restaurant where alcoholic beverages are sold for consumption on the premises is required to provide restrooms "for the use of the public", not "dine-in customers only." read more

This is located conveniently where the old Curry House was previously located on the second floor of the center. They have a very large food menu. All our orders came up in a timely fashion. Our server was very nice. Restrooms were clean a well maintained. The noise level was average except for on group that were a bit loud. Other than that the visit was very pleasant. read more
