Did the bar omakaze with a friend. Service was a bit slow between courses to a point where the sushi chef behind the counter was like I'm just going to hand the plates to you ladies so you're not sitting here waiting. The sushi selection was delicious I really enjoyed each piece. I thought the omakase price point was a little high it was 140$ and we were still hungry after and had to get tacos down the street. I wasn't a big fan of the dessert but my friend really enjoyed it.

Tranquil spot with various omakase options. Came here with my family for an early dinner and made a reservation online beforehand. We opted for the Sushi Bar Omakase for $109 which came with 8 courses (including dessert). A couple of courses had multiple pieces, and we left very full. The blue crab hand roll was my favorite part; it was huge, hot, and the sauce that accompanied it was delicious. The fish was super fresh and the pieces kept coming. It was fun to watch them being prepared right in front of us at the bar (there are table seats as well). We enjoyed our meal and I would recommend this for special occasions or a way to treat yourself.

This is an eight course omakase chef selection during dine LA 2025 July . It's same pricing as normal regular days. Parking only on street and service is okay. But a biit pricey . The restaurant is small with only very little tables. I seated at the bar seat.

Went there for a birthday celebration. We do the $75 pp omakase with a special toro uni add on. The fish are fresh but the some of them is a little chewy for me and the chef did add wasabi into some sushi (which I don't like) the wagyu beef/ bluefin tuna/ uni are fantastic! I got a little rose from the restaurant too for bday. Reasonable price for occasional event :)

What an amazing experience this was! I have never been to an Omakase & my boyfriend took me for Valentine's Day :') To start off, the restaurant was clean + aesthetically pleasing to the eye. All the workers were super kind & greeted us immediately upon arriving. Once we got seated, we opted in for the Kannazuki Omakase. The Kannazuki Omakase is a 10 course omakase meal -- perfect for me but my boyfriend was still hungry LOL. You can taste the quality in the fish for each dish & it litcherally melts into your mouth. My favorites of the night were the snow crab coquette with yuzu curd, the Uni & Toro sushi pcs, the Uni tofu (topped off with truffle), and the white fish tart. Everything was so fresh & I wish I could go back and savor it more !! The server who was helping us was super knowledgeable about every omakase dish that came out & answered all the questions we had regarding the menu. She also helped us decide which sake choices to go with & I'm glad we asked for her suggestions -- the sake paired SO well with our meal. Very nice touch how the restaurant gave a rose, a little box with 2 chocolates, and complimentary plum wine to us for Valentine's Day. This was such a great experience :-)

Located in Silverlake, this is one of the best omakase restaurants in Los Angeles. This was recommended by my son who lives in KTown, a short 20 minute drive to Osen. We were celebrating my daughter's birthday. Seated at the sushi counter, we could observe the chef preparing each course. The kitchen looked clean, sanitary and well organized. There were four chefs in the little space but they all knew their duties and weren't bumping into each other. Each plate was delivered in a timely manner and explained with detail. As you can see from the photos, the sushi glistened and was the most freshest, tender buttery smooth. My favorites were the udon made with scallop, the prime grade O-toro with caviar topping, velvety smooth chawanmushi, tofu with truffle shavings, fried crab cake with cream "bubble" . Although I'm not a fan of uni, my dining partners said it was the absolute high-end grade from Hokkaido. They also have a big selection of sake. The special omakase meal is $170 per person and you're served about 15 dishes, plus an amuse bouche and dessert. You can also supplement by adding additional sushi pieces but you really don't have to because the entire experience was quite fulfilling. Honestly, each piece tasted like it was just captured from the ocean. No fishy or metallic aftertaste like you get in some of the lower end omakase restaurants. High on my list of favorites, I'll be back to Osen whenever I visit Los Angeles.

Spectacular. My partner and I did the bar omakase for his birthday and we were thoroughly impressed. We were quite full after the 8 courses. Quality was great and the flavors an interesting mix. Also the price seemed extremely reasonable at $110. Would definitely come again. Small detail-the sushi chef noticed I was left handed and started placing the sushi at a different angle that made it more natural for me to pick it up.

We came here for my girlfriend's birthday and we had such a good time! It is a very nice and tranquil restaurant that has a serene and warm atmosphere. Service is super welcoming and hospitable, most I've experienced ever at a restaurant! We got the nagatsuki omakase ($140 x 2) together! We didn't expect to be full but we were not only filled all the way but also satisfied with every dish! Everything was very high quality! Highly recommended! Great for all very special occasions! Because it's in silver lake area parking is always going to be tough, but there's a nearby street where there's lots of street parking!

We went here on a Sunday on a whim as we were looking for a good sushi spot, something different than our usual dining places. The omakase was either 100 or 140 for more dishes. I think the standard includes sushi only, for $140 you get some small Japanese dishes with more variety. The service was good and attentive. Omakase was pretty good except for 2 dishes which made it not perfect. For one there was a wagyu beef roll that felt a bit chewy for a5 wagyu beef. Second was some chawanmushi with blue cheese - who puts blue cheese in this? Tasted very pungent and strange. Sushi was pretty good but that is easy to do at many high end sushi places. Ambience was nice, nothing special. The restaurant was mostly empty on a Sunday evening at 6 pm. Omakase was good overall, seemed pretty balanced, but again not perfect for $140. Could have used a couple extra dishes.

I went shortly after they opened, so it was quiet and service was quick. To start I ordered the yellowtail kumquatccio & the A5 wagyu with amaebi. I like how refreshing the yellowtail was with the ponzu and kumquat. The A5 with amaebi is the perfect bite; it's juicy & has so much flavor. I ordered the bluefin spicy tuna hand roll, toro & scallion hand roll, & spicy scallop hand roll. The toro just melts in your mouth and the spicy tuna/spicy scallop has a nice kick to it. Parking- street parking

The quality of the food was great--fresh ingredients and well-prepared dishes. However, the overall experience felt way too long. We were there for 2.5 hours on Valentine's Day, which was honestly excessive, especially with long gaps between some courses. The portions were small, as expected for omakase, but the pacing made it feel even more drawn out. It was still a unique experience, but the wait times really took away from the enjoyment. Not sure if this was just because of the holiday, but I'd think twice before coming back on a busy night.

    Diana L.

This place is amazing! We've been to the izakaya and thought it was meh, but decided to give the omakase location a try. We originally went for Dine LA menu, but instead went for the regular menu because it just looked too enticing. The appetizers were WOW, not only were they delicious but also very creative. The server would explain every dish to us, the content and how they're made. Ambiance is your typical sushi restaurant vibe. Would definitely come back but will take Uber next time, parking in the area is always problematic.

    Kunous K.

Other than the price tag nothing I should complaint... Everything is top notch, the food, the service, the vibe... If I have to pick something to criticize I would say the uni stir rice is a bit too overwhelming, I don't eat much uni that's why I find it pretty fishy...

We were greeted by a lovely hostess and were sat immediately. The rooms are separated by large village style windows which divide the rooms yet feels like an open space. The ambience of this place is very intimate, romantic and sexy! This is the type of place where I couldn't wait to eat because I just knew it was going to be a tasteful journey...so I'm just gonna dive right in! A few highlights for me were the grilled octopus, the house made potato gnocchi and best of all....The Herb Crusted Rack of Lamb!!! The octopus was so perfectly grilled it made me wanna text my best friend just to brag! Each bite had more personality than an entire cast of a reality show. The gnocchi was dangerously good! The confit garlic adds a buttery richness that compliments the subtle smokiness of the broccolini. My favorite parts were the little crunchy, crackles of bread crumbs I'd get in every bite...giving it that kind of texture that makes you pause mid-chew just to appreciate it. The lamb was absolutely incredible-so tender and beautifully cooked that the meat practically fell off the bone. The rich savory lamb was balanced by a bright flavorful sauce while the fresh herbs added a nice lift and freshness to every bite. The crispy roasted bones, gave the dish some extra texture and made the presentation feel extra dramatic. It was hardy, flavorful, and honestly one of those dishes where you don't want to waste a single bite. Definitely a dish I'd order again! The chard broccolini and potato purée completed this meal the way Renée Zellweger completed Tom Cruz in Jerry McGuire! What I pay attention to is the little touches that restaurants do to make the experience that much more special. The Little Door definitely delivered... At the end of our meal, they brought us out a nice pot of sweetened mint tea. OK, so I need to conclude what are you doing, bro? Let me talk. Let me talk. Stop talking stop talking I want. If your taste buds have been feeling a little blah lately, this place is basically their theme park adventure. Come hungry, leave happy and probably start planning your next visit before you even pay the bill.

However- beware, you may get bit by mosquitoes bc of all the greenery. Also, the trees kept dropping stuff on us all night lol. Food itself was alright... we ordered the mussels, beef tartare, lamb chops, and porcini risotto. Mussels were plump and have a nice curry flavor but lacked the wow factor. Skip the steak tartare...basically could only taste the mustard/capers. Lamb chops were probs the best of the four dishes we got, you get 3 pieces, tender and juicy, however comes w a heap of super lemony herbs on top. Risotto looked better than it tasted...risotto itself wasn't as thick and creamy as I personally prefer. Had a good amount of mushrooms though! We eventually got a side of Brussel sprouts for some greens but unfortunately all we tasted was the vinaigrette:// overall..overhyped. Definitely more of a restaurant for vibes rather than food.

The chef clearly enjoys traveling without leaving the kitchen. * ‍ Most importantly, you can feel the attention in the small details. Nothing seems random, even when the combinations sound unusual. This is becoming the kind of restaurant I'll probably visit once a month just to see what new idea has appeared on the menu. For research purposes, obviously. The curry ketchup has nothing to do with it.

Oysters (5/5): great value for happy hour and they were tasty. Bluefin tuna toast (2/5): for the cost, the quality did not match and it didn't have much flavor. Chicken liver toast (5/5): highly recommend, I normally don't like chicken liver but I loved this one. Japanese Bolognese (3.5/5): solid, but nothing too special about it. Abalone pot pie (5/5): one of the highlights of the meal, could have eaten one by myself! Duck (4/5): it was cooked well and tasty, loved the fries that came with it. Overall a very nice spot for dinner, highly recommend coming earlier to catch their happy hour deals. Good music, nice ambiance, perfect place to celebrate a special occasion. Not sure if we would pay full price, but using our Chase Sapphire Reserve benefit was worth it!

The escargot is probably the best I've had. I loved how buttery it was and the snail itself was so fresh and tender. I'd definitely repurchase this on another visit. I even dipped some of the baguette bread (which had the best crunch!) into the butter and it was perfection! For our mains, we got the sea bass with lentils and the Alaskan halibut, and both were prepared perfectly down to taste and texture. Everything about its execution felt very intentional. The halibut was baked with the right amount of breading and the sea bass was pan seared to give that nice crispy texture to the skin. My only critique is I thought the lentils were a bit too overpowering because of the huge quantity, but honestly, everything else was amazing enough that I'm not bothered by it.

Overall this restaurant layout was pretty cool and the night we went the noise level was moderate but I can see that if its packed this place could get loud. They offer outdoor seating as well that looked cozy. Our waiter and his team was very attentive and always made sure we had what we needed so service was exceptional. Food is always an area that I leave up to everyone's own taste. To me I felt some of the dishes needed more salt but I always enjoy my food from how the chef prepped it so I can try new dishes.

For a birthday staycation with the wife, I wanted to treat her to a Michelin-rated restaurant…read more After looking at reservation availability, cuisine, and how far it was from our hotel, Camphor ended up being the best choice. And wow, that turned out really well. The restaurant itself is inside a converted warehouse, which gives it a pretty cool feel. I really liked the ambience - stylish, warm, and welcoming, but not intimidating. It has that white-tablecloth level of service without feeling uptight or like one of those snooty fine-dining places. Service was excellent and felt personal from the start. I especially liked that the restaurant reached out a couple of days before our reservation to confirm our menu choices, especially for limited-availability items like the lobster. Once we got there, everything felt polished and attentive, but still relaxed. We started with the Comté Cheese Gougères and Seabream Crudo, both nice ways to ease into the meal before the heavier dishes. Then came the Baguette with Époisses Butter + Wild Honey. This was ridiculously good. Warm bread, creamy salty butter, and just enough sweetness from the honey. Simple, but seriously divine. Tip: save some of that baguette. You're going to want it later.... ... especially for the Lobster Saffron Risotto. The lobster was market price at $190 when we went, so definitely not cheap, but it was easily the highlight of dinner for me. The lobster itself was beautifully cooked, but that creamy, flavorful saffron risotto underneath it was what really got me. I actually found myself eating slower and taking smaller bites because I wanted that taste to last longer. And yes, this is where that leftover baguette comes in. Use it to scoop up whatever risotto is left on the plate. The Steak Au Poivre was another winner. Ours came out a really nice medium rare, with great color and flavor, and it was incredibly tender. It was one of those steaks where you barely need to chew - you can just let it sit in your mouth for a bit and enjoy that peppery, slightly tangy sauce. I also liked that they serve it already sliced, which makes it much easier to share with the table. Another small tip if you're ordering both the Steak Au Poivre and Lobster Saffron Risotto: I'd ask for the steak to come out first. The risotto has such a rich and strong flavor that I think the steak is better appreciated before it. We really wanted to save the best for last and stretch out the enjoyment of that lobster risotto as long as we could. We finished with the Amuse-bouche alongside coffee, which was a nice little way to wrap up the meal. Portions were surprisingly generous too. Looking at the restaurant and the Michelin star, I was half expecting those tiny fine-dining portions where you start thinking about grabbing something else afterward. Nope. We left very well fed. What started as simply the most practical Michelin choice for our staycation ended up being one of the most memorable meals we've had this year. Great space, warm service, generous portions, and food we're still talking about a few days later. That Lobster Saffron Risotto in particular is going to be very hard to forget.
