Octopus shrimp roll
Jennifer O.

The octopus shrimp roll was fishy (yes I know it's seafood but it shouldn't taste fishy or smell fishy) if u understand what I'm saying. The sprint crab I didn't really like. It was crab with the sauce on top. The other places I go to it's crab mixed with the spicy sauce. Don't know if I'll be back to try anything else.

6 Pieces Shrimp Shumai, Philadelphia Roll and TMI Roll

This was my go-to sushi lunch spot when I worked in the area. A cozy place with pleasant employees and tasty food meant I was there all the time. It was so good, I even introduced my fella to sushi with this food and he became a regular! There are some grab and go basics, Cali roll, kani salad, that type of thing. But of course what you want are the fresh made rolls. I ordered shumai, a Philadelphia roll and a TMI roll. TMI is like a mash of all my favorite things, tempura, crunch, shrimp, eel sauce. Basic, but tasty. Definitely my spot for casual sushi in Forest Hills

Lovely establishment. The staff is extremely friendly and you can tell as soon as you walk in. They welcome you with delightful smiles and they know their customers by name. You can tell that they appreciate their regulars. The sushi was very tasty. Be mindful that it will be difficult to dine in with a huge party because the space is small. It's more for small groups/takeout style. Overall great experience, I wish I lived nearby so that I can come here more often.

Mix of rolls- highly recommend the "smokey shrimp roll" on the bottom right

Reliable, reasonably priced, and quick- what's not to like? In this area, I would say that Sushi Time is easily the most reliable sushi spot and it's pretty solid. My favorite roll was easily the smokey salmon roll as it's the "best of both worlds" with smoked salmon and shrimp. All in all, it's hard to mess up here!

Bling Bling Roll, and my mom got some kind of Spicy Tuna Roll.

A neighbourhood sushi spot from my childhood. They recently renovated their space. The sushi is very fresh and people are always going in and out the shop to pick up orders. I like to get their Bling Bling roll because it has the biggest variety of fish, more than a rainbow roll (I'm very indecisive). Kind of sad they don't have uni anymore but it be like that.

I've been ordering from Sushi Time for 10 years! This little gem has been such a staple to the neighborhood, we are so grateful it's just a short walk away. Any time I'm craving some sushi, I just come right over. The owner and staff have consistently been friendly through the years, it really is one of those local businesses you feel proud to support! Love this place and will continue coming regularly!

Alaskan Roll Spicy Salmon Roll

Super friendly staff, fresh rolls, and great prices. There are only two tables for two people each, but a lot of people call ahead and order to go. You can also pickup already prepared rolls that they make throughout the day and display in the open cooler fridge.

I was so excited to finally try these guys out and was surprised when my spicy salmon rolls came with a pungent scallion taste. My friend like their avocado roll- but for my staple basic roll, I was quite disappointed in mine. The staff is super nice of course and I believe everyone when they say their rolls are fresh, I just need to order it again to truly get that experience... sans the scallion overload.

The sushi here is SOOO GOOD!! This place is every vegetarians dream come true! The sushi is so beyond good and there's so many amazing options; I will definitely keep coming back! The spicy veggie crunchy roll was definitely a highlight! This place is a must go to!

Salmon avocado roll

A small takeout sushi restaurant with a large menu. Friendly staff, pretty fast service. Fancy shrimp tempura roll contained avocado, celery, eel, and masago. Very tasty, but couldn't really appreciate the eel - just tasted like shrimp tempura with eels sauce. Eel avocado - nothing special, tasted as you would expect - in a good way. Spider crab roll - had carrots and celery, topped with masago and Japanese Mayo. Not the best spider crab I've had, but pretty good. Salmon avocado - fresh ingredients, what more can you ask for. Crab lovers roll - menu said contains real crab, but all I got was fake crab; maybe they prepared the wrong roll; it's okay if you enjoy the fake crab meat. Great take out if you're in the hood.

The sushi garden for customers on the go!

If the lightning-fast service, consistency in quality and freshness, and cute ambience weren't enough to convince me that this was the best place to grab a sushi roll in Queens, the fact that I'm always served with smiles all around from staff that take an immense amount pride in their craft is the cherry on top for me. A neighborhood gem and a place I can always make time for. :)

A bit surprised by all the great reviews.. The sushi is okay. Priced reasonably for the area, but it's not a place I'd really come back to.

I wonder if they are waiting for the printer to deliver real menus because these stapled together printer sheets are really getting ragged even after only a month. The food pics are nice though. And you can use the QR code laminated to the table to order. We did it the old-fashioned way by politely speaking to our server. We got a variety of dishes to share, starting with the Yakitori platter. For $19.99, you can choose 5 skewers from the a la carte selections (except for the pricier seafood skewers). They were grilled and seasoned well. I really liked the Fried Kaki (aka kaki fry, fried oysters). The breaded oysters were tender, fresh & juicy. We also shared Chicken Yakiudon, Yakiniku Don & Pork Katsu Don. The yakiudon was very good and the katsu was crispy and generously sized. I did not like the sauce on the beef in yakiniku don. The texture tasted strange. I'll try the gyudon next time. There are a lot of restaurants on this block with a variety of ethnic cuisines and I would make Wafuu a regular spot when we come to Forest Hills.

Intimate setting where you can really enjoy your dinner and company and also get to know the owners. Family owned and taken care of very well. All the food here is fresh and delicious and creative. Great katsu and anything on the sushi menu was divine. Love the toro, yellowtail, and sea urchin. Can't go wrong with either the nigiri or sashimi choices. A wonderful alcohol selection as well with special items i've never seen before but very refreshing were the green tea beer and the yuzu beer. A gem in forest hills and a must try. I actually appreciate that they are reservation only - it does make for more quality conversation with your party. We ordered the Agedashi tofu and Magritte duck as appetizers. Both were delicious and had really great sauces that paired well with the dish. For entrees we ordered their black cod, pork hirekatsu, sashimi plate, and their snow crab avocado roll. The black cod was absolutely delicious, so tender, cooked to perfection, jam packed with flavor but not tough or mushy. The hirekatsu was another hit - four large pieces, fried to perfection. The pork itself was still moist and juicy. The sashimi?? So fresh and cleaned perfectly! The quality is definitely on par with what I get in the city so the price is absolutely reasonable to me. Lastly their snow crab and avocado roll - also really good! I love how sweet the snow crab was, there also wasn't too much rice on the roll which was appreciated. Overall, we had a wonderful time dining at Katsuno. While the prices may seem a bit high and portions of certain items may not be the largest, the flavor really is authentic and the quality of ingredients used are good too. We will be back!

The prices on the windows are very confusing and more like false advertising for me, the lower prices are for the members which we're not since this is our first time and definitely our last, unless our daughter wants to come here again. So the price is the more expensive one. For me, I prefer straight forward pricing, so this didn't give me good vibes, it's not the money, just the way they advertising and we have to know what we can only have with the price we chose. The restaurant just gives us the specific menu for what we selected to have then we don't have to be denied for what we chose because we selected gold instead of top of the line menu. The place is clean and nice. For $78/per person and only have Australian Wagyu Beef (not really Wagyu) then it's over priced. We did have some premium beef which I liked because of the marble of fat on the beef quite tender and tasty, but only a sampler or whatever they called it. Service with one person is quite inadequate but she's very attentive and pleasant, since she had to run the whole restaurant, sometimes forgets things. The tomato broth was good and everyone liked it. The seafood plate is OK and our sweet shrimps are sweet. Some snow crab legs, jumbo shrimps, fish fillets, nothing to make me go wow. The appetizers tempura is crispy and good. The raw octopus is tasty. The vegetables are fresh and clean. After they denied me the premium beef sampler, I let my daughter to order everything else and I just enjoyed with the family. My daughter seemed to be happy and ate a lot, so I was happy. I've eaten enough shabu, hot pot to know that Australian or American Wagyu are overrated, many of them are tough and chewy, not as tender as normal ribeyes or Brisket that I like. This restaurant Wagyu beef does have marbles of fat in it, so it's tender and not so chewy. So, for the GOLD menu, I don't think it's worth the $78 but for special occasions, it's OK. I just don't like the confusion of many menu, many prices, and not getting my own menu and get denied for something on the menu because I didn't pay enough.

Instead, I was served a cheeseburger with french fries, which was completely different from what I ordered. When I brought this to the staff's attention, the response was dismissive and argumentative, rather than focused on resolving the issue. Rather than escalate the situation, I chose to leave. Although I had already paid, I did not feel comfortable staying or continuing the conversation. This was especially disappointing because I have been a loyal customer for years, long before the new ownership. I used to visit frequently, and even now, I go out of my way, often 40 minutes, to come here when I am in Queens dropping off my kids. As someone who does not eat cheeseburgers, receiving that order was both frustrating and avoidable with basic attention to detail. I truly hope the new management takes steps to improve both service and communication moving forward. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I will not be returning. This is coming from a person that has been coming to this place for years. It's sad.
