Unfortunately I currently cannot eat raw seafood but I was able to ask one of the servers and she helpfully marked which items I could enjoy (see photo). My tips: 1. Come when can eat raw seafood. The options for cooked fish were plentiful but very similar. My family really enjoyed The Crazy Girl, one of the rolls I could not eat. 2. Don't order from the kitchen menu, only the sushi menu. We found their kitchen menu to be sorely lacking. The miso soup had decent flavour but barely and tofu or seaweed. The udon was bland. The yakitori dry. The tempura flavourless. Came here with friends for AYCE sushi. We were met with efficient/not friendly or unfriendly staff, and sat immediately. The seating and decor are super plain but it's completely fine and clean and works. The fact that they have really good apps and food included in the price is great. This isn't the first Sushi X I've been to but it is my favorite of their locations. This one can get quite busy during peak hours so it's good to make reservations when you can. Their all-you-can-eat sushi and kitchen menu never disappoints. It has been a favorite of ours for many years. The only reason I give 4/5 stars is the general ambiance. Pop music over the speakers and sports on TVs throughout... which is such a weird vibe when eating sushi! They've also forgot about us a couple of times when trying to pay the bill, but that hasn't happened recently. Since the last few weeks, I have been here quite frequently since it's very close to my current location and I really like sushi, especially all you can eat. When I go here, I order a ton of Salmon sashimi and white tuna sashimi. Both are delicious and reasonably fresh. The restaurant is very nice and willing to give me shrimp rolls without any rice. It's not necessarily the best sushi I've had, but you really can't go wrong with all you can eat sashimi that isn't placed on a buffet. I usually just sit right in front of the sushi bar, so that I can quickly relay my order and optimize the service. The only issue I've had with service is that the servers do not speak the best English and I have frequently received other peoples orders on accident. read more

Today I got the lunch special to go! I got the shrimp tempura bento box. It came with soup, salad, 2 shrimp tempura pieces, some tempura veggies, white rice, shumai, & a California roll! That is a LOT of food for just around $12! The first thing I tried was the salad- the greens were fresh & the dressing you can tell they make in house by the fresh ginger flavor. Next, I tried the miso soup. Class miso soup, delicious, no problems there! The shumai was yummy. The tempura was crispy. The rice was cooked perfectly. The California roll was actually pretty good! If I could leave a zero a star I would. I came in with my girlfriend today to get all you can eat lunch. We were sitting in front of the sushi rolling station by the door and as we were eating we saw the chef spit a "loogie" onto the floor. He then did this again into the trash can, blow his nose, and go back to making sushi without washing his hands. Our appetites were completely lost and we could not continue eating the food after watching their chef do that. We then notified our waiter of the issue and he played dumb while I had to pay $66 for 2 rolls of sushi. This is the most digusting "establishment" I have ever eaten in. I would recommend learning to role sushi yourself before ever coming here. I can only imagine what goes on behind closed doors if their chef does this 5 feet from our table. 0/10 read more

I went here against my better judgment... Don't make the same mistake! First off, as others mentioned, the service is pretty terrible. It was our first (and last) time, and no one explained how to order. We finally figured out that we needed to fill out order cards. When the sushi came out, they didn't even include everything we ordered or appropriately fill the orders! Some of the rolls showed up without ingredients that were listed on the menu and other items just didn't show up. I wasn't entirely disappointed that things didn't show up, because it wound up being disgusting anyway... Apart from that, the menu is not appropriately descriptive. I very clearly wrote that I couldn't have tempura on my order card. I also told the waiter, adding that I was allergic! One of the rolls came out and it had tempura hiding it in. No mention on the menu that this would be the case either. I called a waitress over and explained the situation and she got defensive. Since they had signs everywhere that if you waste you'll be charged per roll, I explained the situation and said I wouldn't be eating anymore as I couldn't. Basically, she didn't care. I got sick from the experience, and it didn't matter to them. No manager came over. I explained their menu needed to be corrected, and she put it on me saying it was my job to inform them of my allergy (which I did!). When I told her I wrote it on the order form AND told the server, her response was, "Oh he's new..." Is that an appropriate response to this kind of response? Me thinks not! On top of all that, the sushi is VERY low quality. I love sashimi, and I couldn't eat theirs. Basically, this is a college hangout or for people who want to gorge on terrible, low-quality, items. It was a complete waste of calories, time, and I completely regret the experience. I have no idea how anyone can describe this place as anything other than mediocre. Came in last week as a first timer! I have been to three other sushi buffets in the area so my friends and I wanted to try out Sushi X after someone recommended it to me. The way it works is you order by marking down what you want on a menu sheet, and you can order as much as you like as long as you eat everything you order. I believe the set price was around 27.99 (I could be off by a dollar or so) and the total with tax + tip was $35/$36 per person. Definitely a little pricier than Kumo sushi which is also in Stamford but I will say that Sushi X does have better specialty rolls. The sushi was great quality and taste overall! However the price is only worth it if you are absolutely going for sushi - I had friends who only wanted food from the kitchen menu and not the sushi and the buffet price was not worth it for them. Another thing is that you have to pay a dollar extra for dessert but I think it should just be included in the buffet since you're paying a fair amount. But overall it was a fun time and the sushi was excellent! read more

I used to love this place for all you can eat sushi, but over the years they have definitely seemed to go downhill. The service is average, they just seem to refill the water and bring the food, not much interaction in the sense of asking how the table is doing. As with most AYCE sushi joints, it's quantity over quality here. Nevertheless, they do offer some great specialty rolls that will satisfy any huge craving for sushi (or a bottomless appetite). Skip most of the kitchen items; nothing is really that great besides the pepper tuna, and you don't want to fill up prematurely. I recommend going straight for either maki, specialty rolls or sashimi (the nigiri is 90% rice, which you can also skip). Instead, order the Yummy roll, Butterfly roll, and Dragon roll, which are all delicious. I particularly love their rolls with fresh mango or mango sauce, which adds a perfect touch of sweetness without being overbearing. Their ice cream (ginger, green tea, and red bean) is also delicious, so save a little room at the end; this won't be hard to do, as their scoops are very tiny. Service is fine and food comes out quickly, but they do sometimes leave orders off so pay attention to what you order and receive. They also offer free parking in the garage across the street, which is a nice touch. read more

I'm surprised this place only has 3 stars. I absolutely love this place & so does my family! I only get the veggie sushi which is amazing. I love how they offer so many veg options. I have never had a bad experience here & I've been coming here for a while. My favorites are the tofu teriyaki, sweet potato rolls, avocado mango rolls, & egg rolls. Only thing I'd say is I hate how even if you want just one roll of something you have to write it on another sheet of paper. It would be smarter to just laminate one for each table so we can just write on it with a dry erase marker or something.
