Excellent sushi, fast and pleasant service, homey ambiance. I go to Sushi You often whenever I'm in need of a quick bite of sushi. They have never let me down. 10/10 recommend.

Really wanted to love this place but it fell short for me. The prices are phenomenal. I paid 45 dollars for 7 rolls - including special rolls. The staff was also super friendly over the phone and at pick up. However, the sushi wasn't that great. Didn't leave me wanting to come back for more. To start, the rolls are tiny. There's not much rice to them. I found that two of my seven rolls had harder rice, which wasn't to appetizing. The other five rolls with softer rice were better. Overall - it's fine to try if you're on a budget. But it wouldn't be a place I go to regularly. I rather pay a little more to get bigger rolls with more rice (&fresh rice).

Delivery Order - One of the worst Sushi that I have had, nothing like the description. Lobster Roll was especially awful with meat so tough that I could barely chew. Spring Roll appetizer was pretty good though.

One of the better sushi spots in the area. Prices are the lowest of all other sushi spots in the area (Koshi, Ninja, Aki, Sea Shea) but portion sizes are also smaller!! Sushi is always fresh as more people order from here probably due to the lower prices. Portion sizes also vary depending on the day of the week you order (refer to pictures of same salmon lover order placed on two different nights, you can visibly see one of the orders is 25 percent smaller than the other). I wouldn't order sashimi again from this restaurant, the pieces are half the size of other restaurants. Sad to say this but NYC has cheaper and better prices for sushi than any place I've been to in NJ...

Believe it or not, this is our favorite sushi spot. Located off the beaten path, it is never very busy when we go and seems like they get more takeout then dine-in. We hardly ever deviate from the same sushi rolls! Snow Mountain (crab and shrimp tempura), Crazy Lobster (lobster with crab), and Wonderful (shrimp tempura with mango on top), and classic spicy tuna. The combinations are great and they don't even need soy sauce or spicy mayo. We sit and eat in silence - a true sign that the food is delicious! Unfortunately we dont live nearby anymore so it's always a treat when we make it over!

The sushi is good to however the delivery service is absolutely horrendous from my pov. And one of the rolls had darkened fish.

I usually go here and have a very good experience HOWEVER, ordering for delivery was different as even though the food was good as usual the delivery driver LITERALLY demanded me to give him a tip on an almost 40 dollar order on top of the delivery fee. 3 or 2 don't know. First time in my life and NEVER EVER AGAIN!

I got the wonderful roll, kiwi vegetable roll, and California roll. All were incredible, especially the kiwi vegetable and wonderful rolls (has mangos). I also had the sushi sandwich, which has layers of tuna, eel, avocado, tobiko, and Alaskan snow crab. They were fresh and delicious. Delivery came on time.

I am a bit of a sushi fiend, and this is the best place to go on a budget. The sushi is 50% every day and the food is still quality! The place is usually fairly quiet when I eat in and service is always super friendly and tentative. I don't eat fish anymore and I usually opt for the vegetable and sweet potato rolls, and they're even willing to let you customize a bit if something isn't on the menu (mango avocado is now one of my favorites). Overall, it's nice to have a tasty sushi location that doesn't hurt the wallet!

    Snow mountain and tiger rolls

Actual rating: 3.5 I'm genuinely surprised I liked this place because the location is kinda a hole in a wall and the huge 50% off sushi sign threw me off. However, the rolls were delicious (kinda small tho). I suggest the snow mountain roll!! I also had the tiger roll which was just as good. My friend got the sushi sandwich and it was huge!! Unable to finish. I would probably go back but only because it's a 2 second drive away from me.

Take notice of the dull translucence in the salmon avocado.

Frankly, I wish I had a better experience with this place after reviewing all the positive feedback. First time visiting this place and I am rather disappointed. Pros: convenient online ordering, not too hard to find with the GPS, friendly staff, great prices! Cons: very small parking lot and less than mediocre quality of sushi. I ordered the salmon avocado and the queen rolls. The salmon quality was not the best. Instead of a bright coral pink color of what good salmon should look like, their salmon had a dull translucent color to it. There wasn't too much rice with that roll either. The queen roll, consisting of crunchy and spicy tuna topped with tuna, tilapia, and avocado wasn't that great either. I like to do this thing where I pick apart at least one piece and try the ingredients individually. The tilapia was really really cold as if it came right out of the freezer...and it was too chewy. Some of the crunchy was too hard and clumpy as if it had been sitting there all day and dried up, not the softy crunchy I'm usually use to. Like I said, I really wished for good quality sushi and was rather excited for it, but I was let down. At least I didn't get a stomachache. Sorry sushi you, but you only deserve one star from me.

Unfortunately, would not recommend after this visit, and would recommend sushi village instead if you're looking for something local. They have a system where you press a button to call them if you need them. When we first ordered our ayce round, the waiter with the glasses seemed rude and it felt like we were intruding being at this restaurant. After we placed a 2nd round, about 20 minutes passed when I asked for an update. I heard the waiters speaking in tagalog saying why are we in a rush to each other. The last thing that bothered me is that the same waiter dropped another menu at our table while we were still waiting and after I said "we're actually still waiting for our food," he responded with "oh this is for the next customer." I don't feel that was appropriate considering we were still waiting for our food and not finished?? Correct me if I'm wrong?? I've worked in the restaurant industry and would never do that - I think it's common courtesy. Another thing to note - we asked for tap water and received bottled water. We asked for tap water again, but it never came so we ended up drinking the bottled water which comes at an additional charge. Last thing - the sushi and food were below average to average at best. Truly not worth it. The only good thing about this restaurant was that they gave hazelnut chocolate at the end of our meal and that the other waiters were much friendlier and approachable.

As per the miso soup by far is the best I've ever had it has more flavor, we got only two rolls but pricing is reasonable for the quality, and they do offer an all you can eat as well if your into it, I asked for a water and they brought out Dasani, however to be transparent I don't like tha brand at all so I just asked to switch to a brisk but that wasn't a big deal. As we are enjoying our meal we got two homemade lemonades on the house and then few minutes later some watermelon on the house as well, this nice gesture made me feel so appreciated and we will be back for sure.

Every…read moreeel I have had in the U.S. has never compared, even the eel I had in Seoul, so I was hesitant to order it at Minoru. But this was absolutely worth it. I'm so glad my husband pressured me to. The eel was incredibly tender and delicate on the inside with a delicious crispy exterior and a rich flavor with every bite. The contrast in texture was so so good and it honestly exceeded my expectations in every way. I wish I had more. Easily the best eel I have had in the U.S. I'm still thinking about it weeks later. My husband ordered the Wagyu donburi, which was excellent. The Wagyu was incredibly tender. The waitress also cracked an egg over the beef. It came with rice at the bottom, miso soup, and broth. I also really appreciated that our waitress came over and explained the different ways to enjoy both entrees. There were four different ways to eat each one, which made the experience feel much more thoughtful and interactive. I enjoyed eating mine plain and mixed with broth, scallions, and seaweed. These were the only two dishes we ordered and both were excellent. I will definitely be back for the eel again. It is definitely cheaper than flying to Japan to get my fix.
