Highly recommend getting the samurai bites & the Kyoto sour cocktail! Good sushi & they also have a bar! It was a nice & chill atmosphere! Parking wasn't too bad on the side streets since the restaurant is on a main road!

I love this place. My husband and I first found this place which was a tiny hole in the wall years ago. We lived around the area and loved their samurai bites. We used to get them way too often. The owner was very friendly as well. It's been about 7-8 years since then and I am so happy to see they still exist and are doing well - they have two locations now!! Still far away from where we moved so that sucks, but we keep on coming back. This was the place I wanted to go to right after I gave birth! Finally felt better to drive 1.5 hrs and got to eat here last weekend!! Ambiance is great...date night like. Service is wonderful as always. And of course - the food is incomparable especially the Samurai Bites. We love it. Got two sets. We wanted more but we figured we should eat other items from the menu as well. Would love to come back as soon as we can. Hope they expand near us one day.

The is was such a good decision to come here! I was driving around with a friend and we weren't sure where to go for a late lunch and we came across samurai sushi. The staff were extremely hospitable and our food was very delicious and drinks were well-made. The best part may have been the samurai salad- we ordered an extra one to go! I definitely recommend and would definitely consider coming back when in the area.

Everything was so good. The manager, Andres, was amazing and made the whole experience even better. All the fish was super fresh, the service was great, and they actually have a full bar -- which is rare for sushi spots around here. The cocktails were delicious. We loved the Samurai Bites and the Angry Shrimp Roll, and honestly everything we ordered hit. Definitely coming back.

Ordered for pickup via UberEats. They had a few BOGO deals in the app so we got those, and a Deluxe Sushi Plate. The Deluxe Sushi Plate was really good. I upgraded to a negitoro roll, which was the move. I didn't care for the shrimp piece but the boiled shrimp is always expected as a filler sushi. Everything else was great though. For the BOGO deals, these were the samurai roll, red bull roll, salmon avocado roll, and samurai bites (crispy tuna rice). The rolls were just okay because they were smothered in sauces. Samurai bites were still good. I like that they have both real (higher quality) sushi, and fushi (fake sushi, i.e. the rolls with all sorts of filling covered with sauces). Next time, I'll probably just stick to the sushi deluxe and the samurai bites.

Samurai Sushi in East Rutherford, NJ. The vibe is perfect at Samurai Sushi. Perfect for date night, girls night or family dinner night. The cocktails are delicious and the sushi has a huge variety-sushi snobs to not fans of sushi can dine here happily. I loved the variations of Nigiri, raw rolls and cooked rolls. Insta: @thehungrysw. Small Parking in the back. Cute spot. You can seat by the bar, sushi section or tables. Theres a lot of options. I love that there are pictures on the menu. Makes you want to try everything. We tried sushi roll and ramen. I like they have different tea options. The food is delicious here.

Brought my wife here during the week for dinner, it was amazing. Food: biggest highlight was the king salmon which was amazingly silky, the rolls we got were packed with flavor, and my wife's strawberry lemonade was that perfect sweetness. Ambiance: great modern take with an awesome bar and beautiful visuals. Service: I feel so bad that I forget our waitresses name but she was great and was on top of everything.

Absolutely delicious. The best sushi I've tried since I've moved back to north jersey. Osaka roll is phenomenal!

Samurai Bites - 5/5 you have to order. Might even need to order 2 of them!!!!

Dinner was amazing: Drinks were spot on, appetizers included a mouthful full of flavor, and rolls were off the charts. Will definitely be back...SOON! We actually forgot to take pics of the rolls, but I've listed them here: Samurai Roll Salmon Lovers Roll New York Roll

Service was excellent. She was so lovely. Cute small spot. Has limited parking in back. Sushi was good, rice was not overly done on the rolls and fish was perfect portioning. The ramen was ok, meat was chewy not soft, wish the egg was the fermented egg that this ramen usually comes with. We still recommend to visit if you're in town.

Ordered these platters for a party. Guests were thrilled!!

We have been going to Samurai Sushi since they opened a small restaurant on Park Ave in east Rutherford. The sushi chef Ishi does amazing work with all of his dishes. It is our go to sushi place with great food and a very attentive and friendly staff.

I ordered the Unagi Don Gozen ($42)- it came with a whole tray of different delicious items, with the star of the show being a generous amount of unagi (eel) over rice. The eel was cooked very well and the rice was flavorful with a bit of sweetness. There was also a small bowl of udon noodles, some sashimi, a crispy tempura shrimp in a yummy creamy sauce, flavorful edamame, mashed potato with corn, and some pickled veggies - quite the diverse array, all of which was tasty. The restaurant itself has a rather simple yet elegant Japanese wooden design. The prices suggest it's a more high end place, but the vibe is actually rather casual. The staff are very attentive and the service speed is pretty quick. Overall, I would definitely give Moru 4.5 stars if I could. I think it's great for most types of occasions, and the only reasons it's not getting 5 stars is because I do think the prices are a tad higher than I would've hoped and I think they could've done a bit more in terms of designing the place to match the price point. That being said, I still highly recommend Moru, especially for a nice lunch.

I drove over and was able to find street parking easily. The interior is casual and spacious, but a little dreary and outdated. They have exposed brick walls, wood tables, and hanging light fixtures. My food was prepared on time. I ordered: *Salmon Lover - 4 pieces of sushi, 4 pieces of sashimi, 6 piece roll ($20.50) *Tuna Lover - 4 pieces of sushi, 4 pieces of sashimi, 6 piece roll ($20.50) The salmon and tuna were fresh in taste, texture, and smell. Vibrant colors, firm and smooth textures, and delicate flavors! The sushi rolls had the right fish to rice ratio. The rice could've been more seasoned. The miso soup was warm, savory, and comforting. Not the best sushi I've ever had, but it did the job of satisfying my cravings. I would return to try their special rolls!

(I did that recently for a holiday dinner) To his credit it was probably 8-10 years since we had been there. I remembered it favorably and was looking forward to trying it again. Various parts of the chicken, mostly pretty bland. Nothing was bad but nothing was noteworthy. Tried another round of 5 skewers, the one with the plum filling was a bit more enjoyable. In Yakitori 39's defense, we probably did it wrong. It's probably fun with a bunch of sake but I don't drink alcohol. The ingredients seem quality. Probably won't be rushing back.

My dining partner and I were seated rather quickly. Our server took our drink orders and came back promptly so we could order our food. The menu is pretty extensive but we ordered an assortment of skewers and a bowl of ramen to share. The skewers came out little by little; about 3 skewers per plate. They didn't come all at once so I assume they bring them out as they finish getting grilled. The chicken heart was some of the best I've ever had. I'm not sure if it's the way it was sliced, the seasoning, or just everything about it but I wish we ordered more. The tail skewer was another standout. It had so much crunch that it was almost like it was fried. The flavors were rich and varied. Each skewer cost upwards of $4 so that's a bummer. Unfortunately the ramen wasn't so great. Not terrible, but not great either. Especially not great for $19. Not my first choice for ramen. Is it the most bang for your buck? Certainly not. But I did enjoy my meal and in the end, that's what matters.
