My wife and I have been coming here for years, and it never does us wrong. By far my favorite sushi restaurant. Super fresh fish, simple yet flavorful ingredients and roll combinations - none of that over sauced crap you get at a lot of other places which are trying to cover up their lackluster quality. It's a family run establishment and the duo that run it are kind, generous and welcoming. It's a small place, but that's ok--it's not trying to be anything more than a simple sushi restaurant with great quality food. Highly recommend you give it a try. read more

Came back recently after a a few years, and i still love this place. my friend pointed out how simple the menu is, and i love it. the basic rolls sometimes are what is key especially since americanized rolls are sometimes towered up with so much, the flavors tend to blend in together. they do carry and have a small list of special rolls, but i like that its small. the service was slow, but thats expected since its one person making up the rolls. there were quite a few orders bring picked up tho, so im sure that added to it. otherwise, everything flowed nicely. i love being able to sit at the sushi bar, i hope they never change that. the kani/crab salad is still a must get. i like that its not too much mayo and has a nice spice level. the rice is cooked just right with the rolls. i enjoyed my yellowtail roll - fresh and had a nice crunch. i highly suggest the bonzai roll, it has unique ingredients, but it doesnt overpower the fish. read more

Stopped by for lunch and came away impressed. The restaurant has bar seating and is very clean and nicely decorated. Parking is easily available. It's small and would be easy to miss. As for the food I had the $10 lunch special which consisted of Miso Soup which was very good. I also had the California roll and spicy crab roll which were both excellent. The complimentary green tea was also very nice. I'm not exactly a sushi expert but I did enjoy the lunch and the owners were very nice. What a hidden gem! Magically discovered this place while we were in the area and starving. I wasn't sure if they were still open since their last Yelp review was 7 months ago. YO, it's SO good. We've ordered pick-up from Ino Sushi 4 times in the past month. The fish is super super fresh, their rice is amazing - super fresh, room temperature, honestly it's perfection. Their rolls are quality and the special rolls are cut into soooooo many pieces... Plenty of food! The rolls are a little heavy on the rice but honestly the rice is so good, you truly won't mind. We're working our way down the menu, ordering different rolls every time. We've also gone for sushi pieces and sashimi, both top notch. One time we arrived for pick-up and it wasn't ready yet so they gave us some hot teas, so sweet. The owners are lovely and friendly and kind. Following all COVID precautions. Ino Sushi is a delightful little sushi restaurant that refreshingly just does sushi. If you're looking for teriyaki or tempura, you'll need to head elsewhere. Unlike Japan where you go to a sushi restaurant for sushi and if you want tempura you go to a tempura restaurant, most sushi restaurants in the U.S. serve a wide variety of Japanese foods that include sushi. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but I enjoy restaurants that specialize, and that was one of the things that appealed to me about Ino Sushi. I didn't have a large meal. In fact, it was quite small; just a Yellowtail Roll with Scallion, but that single roll was excellent. The fish tasted bright and fresh. The nori was crisp and clearly high quality, and the presentation was beautiful. I also enjoyed the complimentary cold green tea they served. It was made with roasted barley and had a wonderfully nutty quality. The restaurant is a family run business and both the sushi chef and the lady working there (his wife I'm assuming) where gracious and friendly. I look forward to returning to Ino Sushi for a larger meal. read more

I would comeback only if I was really craving sushi and needed something close to me. Only bc it was a little too pricy to me as I've had cheaper and just as good sushi elsewhere. But overall good! This place seems to have a regulars crowd judging from the conversation and since they are in a Neighborhood area along with an apartment complex suspect their business is ok therefore guess most folks enjoy. I needed to make this place average as I felt the portion sizes were small the sushi just ok. Staff was of course friendly and wait not long. Place is small with table service and a sushi bar. Very cozy casual sushi spot. The space is a little small, all the seats are bar seats but I didn't mind it. I went Thursday night for dinner and it was just myself and my boyfriend the whole night. Our food was prepared quickly and was delish. Also very decently priced for the large portions. Most importantly, the sushi tasted veryyyyy fresh. My only downfall was the rather small selection of specialty rolls. They had about 15 which isn't a small number, but I also like the nonconventional style rolls that are deep fried or have crunchy flakes with crazy stuff in addition to the traditional style. She served us some delicious tea, which tasted like roasted rice served with liquid awesomeness. I ordered the spicy tuna roll, which was actually spicy! The tuna tasted as fresh as the sea. Ino appeared on yelp and had numerous rave reviews. We decided to take a chance on this restaurant. Ino is a small establishment. We were greeted warmly by two individuals who I assume were the owners of the restaurant. No tables are available in this establishment. The only place one can eat is at the sushi bar. Its kind of difficult to hold a conversation with more than one person however one could imagine a similar set up in Japan. The service was quick and the food was super fresh. Upon entering the establishment the woman was very welcoming but the chef he was not welcoming at all almost like he had an attitude. there were a few people in the restaurant and he was laughing and joking with them and thanking them very much but when we got up to leave he didn't say a word to us I just felt a little slighted by that. Coming to the food the sushi rolls were mediocre less damn also we ordered sushi rolls without rice one of the rolls with cucumber where the cucumbers wraps was very large and an inedible also I order the specialty Roll which coinsisted of grilled salmon what it was the grill salmon was on the outside and crab meat was in the inside that was not on my order I was very unsatisfied and for the price for the two rolls I do not believe I will be going back againI would not recommend this place to sushi lovers take the extra time and go to Montclair they have a great sushi restaurant there read more

I've been venturing out and trying to find a new sushi spot, and this joint is definitely on my return list. It located on Market Street in Clifton, so parking is horrible. You got a few options for parking (street and metered). We ventured in on a Friday night, about a hour before they were closing. The place was completely dead, no other patrons inside. The owners were super warm, and inviting. The store front is smaller, but it is cozy. We sat directly at the sushi bar, which was awesome because we got to watch all the action. So for starters, we got the crab salad (kani salad, essentially), which was basically all crab, no fillers. There was definitely a spicy mayo with it, with a mild kick. Next we ordered two basic rolls (spicy yellowtail + spicy salmon), and two specialty (banzai + flying dragon**). The flying dragon was the winner of the evening though, it was bursting with flavor, the eel was delicious. The freshness and quality of the fish was amazing, no complaints here. It is BYOB, and conveniently, there is a liquor store across the street. Happy eatings! read more

Definitely don't need sauce with any of these rolls and if you dip these, you are not doing them any justice. Just eat them as they come and appreciate the freshness of the raw fish and as well as the cooked items. *mochi ice cream (We had the mango, red bean and green tea flavored. Personally the green tea mochi has the most distinct flavor and I enjoyed that more than the others. Pretty sure these are store bought so I'm not going to get hung up on these. Haha.) I love their kani salad - it had more of a crabby taste and a hint of spiciness. I would definitely come again but I don't know if its the "BEST SUSHI IN NEW JERSEY". If I'm in the area, sure! Price: Pretty average for sushi. About $10-13 per special roll. $5-6 for regular rolls. . Decor: Theres only bar seating, limited space but its cozy. This place is superb! I've been to this place before but it was called Osaka at the time. It was good then but I'm assuming this is new management and it's even better! To my surprise we were welcomed with tea. The woman who greeted us was extremely nice and attentive from beginning to end. I came with my friend and we both ordered the lunch special which was a miso soup and the In & Out Roll; both were delicious! We then got Mochi for dessert. He chose strawberry and I chose green tea. What a hidden Gem! The best sushi that I've had in this area. I can't believe I've been missing out on this for almost a year. The owners are clearly committed to reach sushi perfection. We got here 5 past 5 but the place wasn't opened yet. Well we waited, and it really paid off. I was welcomed with a cup of hot tea which was a great start. I ordered the spicy tuna maki roll. The spiciness was on target. I also had the Chef's role (check out the pic, it was epic). God I wish it wasn't over that quickly. I also smooched some crab salad and a few pieces of the salmon lover roll off my wife's plate. Definitely an illegal move but uncontrollable. We wanted to satisfy our palate even more so we shared a rainbow roll for the final act. The quality of the sushi and the reasonable prices make Ino Sushi an outstanding business. I am really glad we were the only ones sitting in the restaurant at the time. We could really appreciate the quality of the food and the great service provided.
