Did somebody say SUSHI? Kyoto Sushi rarely misses... and this time was a slam dunk! My friend and I wanted some sushi after a long day so we decided to UberEats our order. Our hot items came piping hot as if the kitchen was a few steps away and our sushi also came with the right temperature. We ordered some fried rice and the seafood gyoza, a spice crunchy tuna roll, crunchy yellowtail roll and a Godzilla roll! Everything took about 25 minutes to get to us! Great service. We dined in late on a weekday night. Our waitress was very attentive refilling our tea. We ordered the sushi for two and it came in a boat. There's also miso soup and a salad. I think it's a good deal for price/quality/quantity. I did think the salmon roll was a bit too chewy of a texture (seaweed + rice combo). The quality here is consistent and one of my family's favorite place for pick up or 'eat in'.

Not thrilled. The soups were Flint Michigan water in a bowl. The portions would make Oliver Twist happy but as a paying customer I like a little chicken with my three pounds of rice. Chicken skewers had no flavor so we're instead drowned in a muddy sauce. The restaurant was unapologetic when we tried to make it right before writing this review. On any given night, it can get pretty packed, with wait times up to 45 minutes (especially as it gets closer to around 7PM) so if you're planning to come for a 7PM dinner on a Friday night, be sure to call ahead and make a reservation. Whether I'm dining at their cozy corner on Chestnut Street or picking up for dinner at home, I am never disappointed by their fresh fish and great service. (If you're planning on eating there, just keep in mind that the place only has a few tables and a small parking lot to the side of the building. Emphasis on the cozy.) We had ordered shrimp and vegetable tempura and you could taste the oil in the breading. I had the squid and teriyaki sauce..It wasn't anything special especially for the price. The tuna tartar was unflavored and had the tempura breading around the whole thing. It's wasn't anything to rave about. The chicken teriyaki was a very big portion enough for two people.. it was a plop of chicken cut up and drizzled with teriyaki sauce, taste wise it was ok. The beef negamaki was also nicely presented, but very dry. I've had better elsewhere. The only thing I did enjoy was the dinosaur roll with the miso soup and side salad the best. Stay away from the mango bubble tea, it was the color of coffee and tasted disgusting. The waitress was very nice and really did her best to accommodate everyone. I really wanted to find a neighborhood gym, but I will definitely try a different place next time. read more

This is some of the best sushi I've had since I went to japan. We ordered the Godzilla roll, the spicy crunchy yellowtail, the Philly roll, spicy tuna, California roll, and the Mexican roll. All incredible and so reasonably priced. Also they have great food separation, as my husband is allergic to shellfish and if he eats something that even touches it he gets a rash. The one time I visited, I was surprised and happy by the decor inside; it's very cute! They do sushi boats for their rolls. Now, I ordered out so my experience was a little different. I ordered chicken teriyaki and edamame and the food wasn't great. The teriyaki sauce was a little watery and the chicken a little rubbery. The edamame was fresh and salted perfectly but I was very disappointed by the chicken teriyaki. I don't think I'll go back. Considering the price, I would say it's not worth it. read more
