Consistently excellent food at reasonable prices. We order take out from this place at least once a week. We used to order the Combination Tempura with every meal but for some reason they cannot change their cooking order to making that last so that the tempura would be warm when we pick up the food. Nope. It must be made first, even if I request it to be made last on the order. For this reason the tempura is always cold by the time we get home with the food. Hence I'm taking one star off. This week was rough- I ended up being free for dinner around 8:30pm and was able to send in my order literally 1-2 minutes before they closed. I definitely was eating with my eyes and ordered enough for me and my boyfriend to share + leftovers for his lunch the next day. After ordering, we drove to the restaurant, hoping that the order would be done early. When we got there, we asked about it and they started working on it right away. This place seems to get pretty busy around dinner time though, so be sure to place your order well in advance. We got there right at 1 o'clock and was the first customers in the door. The place filled up pretty quickly and by the time we were finished there were people waiting. People come here for a fresh, inexpensive Japanese meal. We ordered the following: Spicy Tuna Hand Roll 4/5 stars filled with spicy tuna simple but good. Sushiland Roll 5/5 comes with a salad on top, the roll has shrimp tempura Spicy Chirashi 4/5 topped with salad greens, and Korean konchi sauce. Combination Tempura 5/5 comes out piping hot and dipping sauce is hot too. huge portions, 2 of everything lots of veggies. Chicken Udon 3/5 lot's of veggies only a few strands of Udon. I just had my Whip Black Beauty repaired and was hungry . So I stopped at Sushiland and rolled in . Boy I got a surprise . The Owner was the ex Sushi Chef at Fat Fish in San Leandro. I sat at the Sushi Bar and was presented a Menu. I ordered the Fried Tempura Calamari, Monkey Balls and a Spicy Chirashi Bowl. My waitress brought me a Bowl Of Miso Soup, a Garden Salad and a Dr Pepper. Next out was my Calamari Tempura it was a little Chewy. But OK. The next out was the Monkey Balls- Fried Crab Balls very Yummy. The Spicy Chirashi is very interesting. It is a layer of rice in the Bottom, Spring Salad mix in the center and diced Sashimi on top. Diamond in the rough? I think so. This place is a little gem in the middle of no where (at least in the surrounding area). If you don't think they have parking, think again! They have a small lot on the side or in the back. This little restaurant that consists of up to 10-12 tables and a small sushi bar that can seat up to 5 people. Small place in the middle of no where, but it can get pretty packed at night. I came in around 7:30 pm and almost all the tables were filled; thankfully there was 2 people leaving when I arrived! I also don't think there's enough moving space for customers trying to enter their table and the staff; it feels pretty cramped. The staff is super friendly and they greet you with cheerfulness when you step in and when you leave. They're attentive if you try to get their attention. Honestly, their food is worth probably 3.5 stars, but for the price, it's a 5! The sushi rolls are decent and they're all under $10! For the price you pay, it's worth it. Ordered take out due to shelter in place and this place was packed. It's really small and kinda in a sketch neighborhood. I ordered about 8 different rolls and they ranged from 3 to 4 stars out of 5. Wished they would have marked what each roll was. We ordered the titanic roll, tamago nigiri, and a 2 order bento box. We told them we wanted salmon teriyaki and California roll combo but they accidentally gave us tempura instead of the salmon. Great prices and absolutely delicious! I went there for the first time with my friend and we ordered three rolls and a poki salad. Poki salad had seaweed and a good amount of raw fish in it. The rolls were small compared to sushi house, but the flavors were still there. I ordered take out once and the food was ready when I got there. 15 dollars for three of the small rolls? Such a deal! This is my first time trying sushi, thanks to an ex-coworker of mine. The location is small and I almost missed it, driving by. There was plenty of parking behind the tiny building. Once inside I found it is indeed intimate. It seats about 30 people, no joke, and we sat facing the bar area where the chefs were cooking in front of us. By the time we left, about an hour after they opened, the place was packed. With that in mind, the service was quick and a little rushed. I felt like the waitress wanted us in and out and I can see why, as people were waiting outside to be seated. As a sushi newbie, I went with something safe-- the California rolls. They were so delicious and almost creamy. The avocado had great flavoring to it and they basically melted in my mouth. My friend let me try her screaming tuna (deep fried spicy tuna roll) and it was delicious and fresh as well! We also got the green tea ice cream for dessert and it had just a hint of green tea taste but was really creamy and hit the spot. Starting to round up a decent number of sushi restaurants in the East Bay, mostly in the Hayward area. As a result, it's getting easier to compare and rate. Sushiland looked promising. I read they have their own parking lot, but it is tiny. We arrived shortly after opening (1:00) and felt lucky to find a spot. We were the third group in the restaurant. In ten minutes every seat was taken. I'm not sure where everyone parked. The staff was very, very friendly and we were not rushed to finish. That said, I've never, ever seen food delivered as quickly. I was just getting started on my salad, which had too much dressing, and my miso soup, which was very tasty, when my entree arrived. We ran out of table space fast. I ordered the sashimi deluxe, 12 pieces of chef's choice. It was good, but not great. Some pieces were a bit stringy and required more chewing than I expect from top notch, fresh sashimi. I also ordered the salmon skin roll. It was good, not crunchy and large (big around). The flavor was good; standard sushi roll fare. We ordered plum wine, which was delicious. So tasty, in fact, I would like to have had another. While service was very pleasant, it was not attentive. It was packed, so they were busy. I'm guessing that Sushiland is always full, so I wonder if service always suffers. However, when I came to the restaurant, they said the food would take another 20-30 minutes. I understand that it takes time and COVID has made everything slower, but they should have better planning considering they've been offering take out for months now. Was just randomly browsing some restaurants on the way up to Oracle when I found this high-rated sushi place sort of in the middle of nowhere. It was a small place, but for 5pm, all the seats were full. My party and I waited for about 15 minutes all the while perusing (and drooling) over their many rolls and bento options. Once seated, noticed the place has a max capacity of about 20-25 people, but service was great, it seems family oriented, and they even have TVs in the corner, which was nice. On to the food - I got the beef teri and assorted tempura bento, which was pretty alright: tender meat and average tempura. The tasty part was actually the sushi. NIce-sized rolls and about $2-3 less than a lot of other sushi restaurants. I think we got the Golden Gate Roll, but I can't remember the exact name. It had avocado, spicy tuna, salmon, unagi, and shrimp tempura - basically almost everything I like... It comes with a very generous amount of everything, better than some other places, in my opinion. I was very impressed. I also tried my friend's Lion King & that was really good too. Their sushi seems very fresh. You can see the guys making everything near the bar area. For a very small place, I think they have things that are good to have: Flat screen TV, bathroom, seating/bar area. I don't think it's THAT small of a place. Like I said, it doesn't look so great from the outside, but inside is nice. I really like this place & will be my "go to" place when I'm in the area. Once again, bringing my sweet bunny Yoshi to see his vet in Hayward and getting pretty hungry. Yelp around for some food choices and come across Sushiland a few blocks away. Pictures look yummy so I place a togo order on their website, pay ($88) and up pops a note that says it will take over 1 hour for the order to be ready. My daughter is in the car with me and does not want to wait that long to head home. We still have an hour car ride back home and I try to call to cancel the order, but the line was super busy. Since the location is a few blocks away, we head over to cancel the order in person. The girl at the front was nice and had no problem with me cancelling the whole order because 1 hour was really a long wait for food. We head back home and 10 minutes into our drive I get a call from Sushiland asking me if I still want my order because it is ready!? I ask her if it is ready now and she said, "almost". I tell her, I'll be there in 10 minutes because I still need to come up with some type of dinner whenever we arrive at home. I walk in as they are putting the final meals in the bag. Perfect timing and we have dinner for tonight! We started off with the vegetable tempera appetizer. Batter wasn't as light as I have had at other places even though it was still crunchy, but could be better. My husband ordered the bento box with salmon and Saba Shioyaki which was nice and tender, not over cooked at all. Delicious! My daughter had the Ton Katsu which was very dry. This is her goto favorite dish at all sushi places, so she has had hundreds of Ton Katsus and this was not up to par. I ordered 4 sushi rolls. The 49er roll had whole slices of lemon across the whole roll. Some places skimp, but not Sushiland. Next was the orange blossom roll because we all love salmon and this was nicely presented laid out instead of a long roll. Then my favorite from all sushi restaurants is the Spider Roll. Crab was still super crunchy after the 1 hour car ride. Lat was the SUshiland Roll. OMGOODNESS! This was by far the best dish in our whole order. This was part sushi roll, part poke salad. It was huge and absolutely scrumptious! It had all sorts of stuff in it and came in a big container all by itself. Eating out since COVID hasn't been the same as dining in, but hey, we can't make home cooked meals 24/7/365 and unfortunately, some meals just don't hold up to transport when ordering out. I have run into expensive take out only to get subpar meals when eating them at home and really get frustrated at restaurants that don't adjust their methods to provide a better meal when it's take out. That being said, I could have given 4 stars because of the Katsu and tempera, but added an extra star for being able to complete my order in half the time it was suppose to be ready. Sushiland is a tiny place. The dinning room has less than 9 tables and feels like a 20'x20' room. From outside looks more like a food truck. However, this is the first choice of our regular Japanese food place. The No. 1 must have Dish here is the " bay island" baked roll with yami scallops. Then is the chirashi and ramen combo for less than $14. The food is consistently fresh and offers good CP value. Only weakness is they open after 1 pm and Sunday opens after 3 pm. read more

This is a pretty small spot. I wouldn't recommend eating there. Possibly taking your food to go would be best if you don't want to feel crammed in this closed in space. However, I have experienced good food from here, and the food is nice and appealing to the eye as well as to the stomach. I have enjoyed everything that I've ordered from there. I mostly get it delivered through doordash. I believe the prices are a little steep, but I have nothing to compare it to. I just feel like I limit the things that I get because of the price. I can order about three things, and it'll come up to about almost 40 bucks. I'm not too much of a pro at eating sushi. I'm not a fan of eating raw fish, so I stick with the basics like the California roll. I also had something called monkey balls. I wish they could provide a new name for that dish, Lol. I believe it's mushrooms with cream cheese in them. The jalapeno bomb is good, as well as the Lion King. I haven't tried anything else.
