Overall food experience was okay but the service was HORRIBLE!!! I ordered salmon teriyaki and chicken salad for my husband. Mine came out within 10 minutes and I started eating because I was hungry. 30 minutes later my husband's food still wasn't ready, which is the most easiest order to make. we tried to get the waitress attention to follow up with our order and she said they were really busy and we still have to wait. After 10 minute the food have finally arrived and the waitress was rude and slammed my husband food on the table. My husband lost his appetite and decided to take the food home, we waited for the waitress to come back but she was nowhere to be found. My husband ended up going inside to ask for a to go box. We waited again to see if the waitress will come back to give us our bill but then again she's nowhere to be found. So I decided to go inside to pay and she was there just standing at the cash register. Funny, there's a couple who just got there right next to us and they got their food within 10 minutes. Though I love sushi and highly recommend sushi here, I ironically got non-sushi items, sans a Cali roll but c'mon, that doesn't count. I got veggie Udon, a beef teriyaki bento box with a California roll and salad, miso soup, and lastly a chicken teriyaki for my bf. And it didn't disappoint :) I loved the Udon, noodles were amazing and broth as well, along with the miso soup it was so soothing and yummy! Now the beef teriyaki, slightly disappointing. Liked the flavor but the meat was over done and a bit rough for my liking. The salad and dressing is very nostalgic of many comparable dressings at Japanese restaurants but still, very delicious. It's small but cozy place, i went there with my 18 months old baby and we ordered teriyaki chicken for baby and a few rolls for me which were so delicious. This is now my go to place for sushi! Ive been looking for a sit down restaurant for sushi since my go to place for sushi is Chef Teriyaki. They have a private parking lot which is usually good. Street parking sucks. This place doesn't have an appealing exterior but don't let that fool you! Once you go in, we got sat right away. Then again we came in around 6PM. This place is TINY! I would suggest no party bigger than 4. They look like they can only sit a max of 20 people. When we got the menu, we ordered a bunch of sushi rolls. From what I read from other yelpers, you come here for the rolls. And I was not disappointed. The rolls are the bang for your buck AND the portion of the fish is a lot! I came here with 2 other people and 5 rolls (Lambada, crazy horse, dancing queen, cherry blossom, and 911) was enough to fill us up. Definitely coming back here again to try the other rolls too. Unfortunately I need to update my review and lower the stars. I have ordered from them a handful of times recently and literally EVERY single time, they have gotten something wrong with the order or left something out of the order completely. I know that they are probably busy, but I wish that they would just get my order right for once instead of sending me the wrong order or forgetting to give me everything that I paid for. Since I am usually ordering takeout and not sitting in the restaurant, it is more difficult for me to send things back or ask for what I paid for. It's just a big headache every time. read more

The best in the area. I love how fresh the sushi is. Everything taste so good and never disappoints. Me and my family have been coming here for years. We really enjoy their cherry blossom roll, nabeyaki udon, lambada roll, and lion king roll. The food is always hot and delicious. I always leave satisfied. The service is always a 8/10. Not bad, but it does get super busy because the restaurant is so small. The servers are constantly running back and forth and trying their best. Food was decent though we felt there was a bit less fish on the rolls compared to other places. I wouldn't mind coming back if it's a short wait. I discovered this place on Yelp actually and turns out It's not too far from my place which means; I like to treat myself and indulge! My review may change over time, however, I did just have superb sushi which may or may not be the reason this place gets a four instead of a five. Alas, the deluxe sushi combo was definitely worth the price. Everything we got either met or exceeded our expectations, for example after this experience I'm a giant seaweed salad fan and do not think I can look at other salads the same... Sushiland's food tonight was not what we expect. Too much faux crab, too much mayo in it and tasted sweet-yuk. Several pieces were not cut properly and everything fell apart. One of the best sushi spots you'll get in the East Bay! My family and I always order from here whenever we crave sushi because of its quality and prices. The baked mussels are a must get because of the creamy sauce they put on top. All of their rolls are amazing and good portion for what you pay for. My family usually puts in a fairly large order (10-14 items) and they never forget anything which is sometimes difficult for take out options. This place is the definition of hole in the wall since it's a tiny shop on the corner of a fairly busy street. They have extremely limited dine-in options, I'd say about two tables, so it's better to just order over the phone or online for take out. I have been coming to sushiland for years and due to the constant changeover in staff and the lack of owner supervision, the food is not consistent and the female front staff regularly display unpleasant demeanors. Its like they are irritated that they have to serve the orders to the customers. on a number of occasions I have been served chicken that is not properly cooked, so I order chicken that is well done and check the order before I leave the restaurant. Today like always I ordered my Teriyaki chicken well done. An asian female running the front register that identified herself as Jamie (not sure if she gave me her correct name) took my order. Before paying I asked Jamie if the chicken was in fact well done. She said "yes it's well done" with an attitude that conveyed her irritation with being asked. The front staff likes to place the orders in plastic bags and then they tie a knot at the top of the bags which makes it difficult to check the order. I have learned from experience to check the orders before leaving otherwise you get all the way home and find a problem which is to much hassle to get get it corrected, meaning your stuck with it. In checking todays order it was apparent the chicken was undercooked and not well done, which means Jamie not only did not place the order correctly, she did not check the order before placing it in the bag and knotting the top, but she lied to me. So I sent it back which took another 20 minutes for the order to be corrected, which means that Jamie, did not tell the back staff to correct it right away. While I was waiting I looked at the order tag which had no mention of having the chicken cooked well done which mens Jamie did not convey the order correctly to the cooking staff. While I was waiting, not once did Jamie apologies or even offer me a glass of water. read more

Based on price and size of roll this is a FANTASTIC deal. The rolls are decent size and pretty tasty. Keep in the mind the price when analyzing the quality of the seafood. I think the rolls were pretty bomb. I liked the Mission and Volcano rolls. The table also ordered goyza, which was accompanied with a peanut type sauce.
