We stopped by this restaurant for dinner with friends. They have a nice seating arrangement of booths and chaired options. We ordered the plain sunamono, and it is as it sounds plain. It is just the rice noodles and broth, we were quiet surprised as there was no veggie option. And for $4 it was not what we were hoping for. The noodles were undercooked leaving some of them hard and extra chewy in comparison to others. I ordered the tofu teriyaki and it was a good dish. I wouldn't say that there is anything that stands out, but I also wouldn't complain. We ordered a beef Don buri and got it with spicy sauce. If you order it with spicy sauce get ready, as it is extra spicy compared to other restaurants! The staff was friendly and attentive with beverages being refilled and quality checks. I wouldn't say Maple Ridge is known for amazing sushi, but this place is my go-to - it never lets me down. I usually get take out on my way home, and the service is always prompt and friendly. When dining in, the plates always look nice and you can tell care is put into the dish. Overall, it's not as amazing as some of the sushi in Vancouver, but it is definitely one of the best sushi places you can go to in the Ridge Meadows area. read more

Have been here a couple of times but the last visit will be our last time. The food is ok but the service is awful. Both times my husband I went there the place wasn't very busy. The last time, which was about 2 weeks go there was only one server on the floor who seemed confused and disorganized. We weren't greeted when we entered the restaurant which is very odd, particularly as all the sushi chefs (there were two) saw us and made eye contact but said nothing. It wasn't particularly busy. It took a while for us to get a menu and then for our order to be taken. We received someone else's sushi by mistake, it took a few minutes to get the waitress's attention, when we mentioned it wasn't our sushi she insisted it was but took it away and then gave it to the table across from ours, odd? At the end of our meal, I had only eaten half of a sashimi salad and asked the rest to be packed to take home, when we paid the bill my husband asked for the salad the waitress looked confused and said she didn't know where it was, one of the sushi chefs witnessed the conversation but said nothing even when my husband pointed out the error, nothing was offered and we paid for a full salad. We really didn't want to cause a scene over $7. On the way home (we live about 10 minutes from the restaurant) my husband started feeling ill and well I won't elaborate but suffice to say that something wasn't agreeing with him, you guessed it, food poisoning. We kept meaning to try this place since they opened, but never got around to it. We were surprised by the quality, variety, and artistry of the food. They have a complete diner for 2 or more that offers an excellent variety of food. They also have a build-your-own box where you can choose a lunch or dinner box that has exactly what you want. Went to this little place after a long day at the beach! The restaurant was constantly busy and everyone seemed to be enjoying their food, as did I! My table ordered edamame, gyoza, tropical roll, chicken udon, and a bento box. The edamame was great. The gyoya was tasty but a bit bland. The tropical roll was to die for. If you like California roll, but want a little something extra, DEFINITELY give this a try! The udon was very tasty but it is a large portion, so I would recommend it as a full meal on its own. I could not finish it on my own. The prawn tempura was great because there was just a thin layer of batter, rather than being being totally consumed within it. There was only one server covering the whole, busy restaurant - but the service was still fast! Our family has been loyal customers since Sushiro opened it's doors many years ago. We have always been pleased and happy with our food and service. The other night we placed a pick up order at about 7:15pm, after repeating it a couple of times with the girl over the phone. I picked up our order and got home only to realize that our order was wrong. I had ordered (3) Tuna Avocado rolls and other rolls, and all the tuna was substituted with salmon. As it was now 7:45pm, I called to let them know of the problem and asked if they could replace the 3 rolls and I could come back and pick them up. The girl on the phone advised that they'd just closed and that there was nothing they could do, then proceeded to tell me and someone in her background that I ordered salmon not tuna rolls. I would never have ordered salmon as I don't like salmon. We threw them in the garbage. We unfortunately will not be back due only to the service we received that night. read more

I've been here multiple times, but from what I have been witnessing over the years, this place has been steadily declining. As my final visit of this place, I have I decided to write a review of this place. Service and cleanliness: 2/5 When my group and I arrived, it was kind of busy. At least half of the tables were full. As there was only one waitress service was a bit slow. We placed our orders relatively quickly and waited for roughly 15 minutes for water (I had to get up and ask for water). When we received the water, some of the cups were not cleaned properly as I could still see some lip markings and residue on the cups. Underneath the table was covered with gum. As I searched around the room, I realized a group seated after us had already received there food. Unfortunately when we received our first order, it was the wrong order. I also witnessed a group of 2 men being told to leave when they entered as there were "Sorry, no seats." There were open tables, but it felt as if the chef did not want the 2 men to give him more work. Food: 1/5 Lets get this straight right now. The price is not pricey, if it were not for the product. The food has arrived and I tried to dissect it as much as I could. The majority of us ordered lunch boxes. The presentation was not terrible, but just by looking, you could tell that the tempura was soggy. I could also see that the fish was ripped and falling apart. The California Roll was bland and hard. I could not taste the ingredients inside and could taste just the sesame seeds on top. The sashimi that was served alongside the bento box tasted fishy, old even. I'm convinced that the fish was old as I was sick afterwards. Atmosphere: 3/5 The atmosphere is okay. It is not spontaneous or horrible. It seems to be more directed to children than adults, but of course all ages are welcomed. Final Thoughts: I feel that Sushiro has a lot of unused potential. The location is quite good for a simple walk-in sushi restaurant. Cleanliness must be fixed as it seems there is not much care for the cleanliness for the restaurant. I hope they decide to maintain order and remove any old products. From my perspective, it feels like the chef has almost lost the love of making food. read more

Very disappointing service at this place folks! Ordered many times from here and found that they lie about how long its going to take them to have it ready. They have 10 percent off for pick up and I would usually go for pick up. Every time it would take them way longer than their estimate of an hour, which is already a long time to wait. Most places take like 15 minutes. So you get there and pay and then you are waiting outside for another 45 minutes or more. And dare I ask for the 10 percent off when they happened to try to deny me that as well! They are blowing orders out by the ton with the husband and wife team and you would think they would be more generous and apply the discount. Well, I don't have to tell anybody that two wrongs don't make a right! One major competitor burned down so these guys are getting the overflow and cannot deal with it. Maple ridge The land of food but this place is a exception when it comes to this place but let's get serious here lol. The parking was good and it was empty expect me and my dad so they were quick. We got California rolls,Spicy tuna rolls, Salmon maki,Dragon rolls and Agadashi Tofu with a Side of miso soup. It only took about 2 minutes before food was on our plate and boy was it good. First the California rolls were crunchy and juicy just how I like it. Then came the spicy tuna rolls which were spicy alright and the tuna was amazing and was the best tuna I've ever eaten.Then came the Salmon maki and Dragon rolls.First the salmon maki I've always loved but sushrio made me love them 100% MORE!. Then came the dragon rolls which the best part about it is Everything!. Finally came the Agadashi tofu and Miso soup the Agadashi tofu was good and crunchy, just how I like it!
