I did not enjoy my experience today. I came on a Friday and so it was busy. I wasn't in a rush but they didn't even have soy sauce on the table. The servers kept walking by and it was hard to get their attention. I was sitting with my sushi for a bit before I was even able to ask for soy sauce. Then I got it but without a container to put it in. The sushi itself did not taste fresh. I got the dynamite combo. I think it may be better to go when it's not as busy.

Blue fin tuna!

My go to sushi place in the area. Always good service, portions are fair and the fish is always fresh. Pei has always given me consistent value for my visits. And I do not give 4 stars often!

The freshest blue fin tuna, with gold flakes A large Saki list with lots of options, and my favourite is the hot maki - a Japanese spring roll. Thanks for the yummy food Nagano ! I

This is a nice sushi place to go during covid19 because they have a decent sized patio. But the food wasn't too good Price wise, i think it's on the pricer end compared to other sushi places The best dish out of all the things we ordered was the chirashi don. Dont order the spicy ohitashi salad, it's basically just spinach but very salthy too

Poorly prepared salmon roll

Awful, painfully slow service. Very disappointing. Took 40 minutes to prepare a small takeout order of sashimi, salmon roll, two pieces of nigiri & appetizer tempura. Baby size portions as well. Now I know why we don't visit this place. Only as a last resort since it's open late. Next time we won't bother. COVID or not this place is not worth it. I will stick to Hanayuki Sushi or Sushi Mori.

Pricier special rolls but delicious. Thought it was Korean owned because they were playing Korean songs but its Canto-owned

I've taken out a sushi plate from Nagano before and it was very good. Any sushi place that can offer fresh well-cut sashimi is doing something right. Last night I sat down for dinner with my wife there, it's a small place, Japanese style wood decor and mood lighting. Onto the food - we ordered assorted nigiri, chopped scallops roll and a B.C. roll. Both were good, but on the "smaller" side than your usual cuts. Price wise it's also a little pricier than other places I tend to frequent. Overall I enjoyed our light dinner, fish quality was good - but at the same time if I were to be picky, it was hard to find anything that stood out.

Hands down best sashimi salad in all of coquitlam.

Went for dinner with a group of friends here and we were all very pleased with the quality of the food. The service was also very decent. I must say that was one of the best sashimi salads I have ever tried. They have a very wide variety of sushi to choose from. I have tried a few different Japanese spots in coquitlam this one is in the top 5. This restaurant is on the smaller side so reservations is definitely recommended.

They just implemented a new takeout menu for a quick reasonable lunch if you're in the area. We ordered: Donkatsu $17 Deluxe negiri and beef udon $25 The pork katsu was well seasoned and juicy for such a lean cut of meat. It comes with miso soup, shredded cabbage and rice The sauce wasn't the typical tonkatsu sauce but a more mild version of it. I think it was well priced for the amount of food. The Deluxe nigiri came with 7 different pieces of fish, including squid and ebi. 2 shrimp tempura and a vegetable one. The beef udon broth was flavourful with a soothing mix of dashi and beef. We were very full after all of the food and the service was good. The only negative is probably the parking. Pay parking around the area or maybe park at the mall and walk over. Over all a great meal!

The restaurant is spacious and cozy. For each table there is a tablet for ordering. I ordered a Soy Chicken Karaage Donburi as it looked delicious on the menu pics. The rice bowl came with miso soup. The donburi looked good with sufficient portion for a strong man. It was tasty, however as I kept eating the soy chicken karaage got more and more salty. Finally I couldn't have anymore. I finished the rice and it was well cooked. I drank two cups of tea after having the donburi. I didn't try other dishes, perhaps I will give them a try when I come here next time. I do hope the chef could make it less salty. Apart from that, service was fine and the ambient was quiet and tidy.

How lucky are we to have such amazing talent and kind hospitality in a seemingly unassuming plaza…read morehousing an omakase restaurant that refuses to sacrifice quality without having to actually travel to Japan?! An absolute A+ to Chef Keith and Chika for their mastery of perfecting a great omakase experience in the tricities. They are reservations only (and for a good reason!) and this can be done on their new online portal!! by controlling the number of seatings, Chef K and Chika are able to interact and share their craft with patrons in an intimate and personal way. There is no hustle and bustle or fakeness that would otherwise follow some restaurant vibes. There is purely passion for fish, customer service and, of course, metal music! I urge you to dine at the chefs bar and let Chef K tell you his extensive and wonderful background from catering some A list bands, to being on tour, and changing restaurant models all while being fed an amazing feast. The fish is sourced from Japan and screams quality and flavour. He knows exactly what he's doing with all the fish profiles and pairing them with a variety of notes like shiso, yuzu and ginger. Between the 14 unbelievably mouth watering and satisfying dishes, Chef K and Chika's kindness shared the spotlight easily. Humble beginnings have led to an extraordinary and legendary journey for SKK. Some of the special highlights were the blue fin tuna, South American jumbo prawn, Spanish mackerel and the scallops. I cannot wait to bring my omakase/metal loving friends and family here to join in on the greatness because sharing truly is caring and this gem is too awesome to keep to myself!

You could really see the passion behind his work. Although I don't normally listen to rock music, I found that it was still tasteful and the music wasn't blaring. The dinner ended up being over 2.5 hours which was longer than we expected, but I found it worthwhile. Something to note, you need to pre-book your reservation online and pay a deposit of $50/person. Upon arrival the deposit will get refunded back to you. They are unable to deduct the deposit from your final bill.

It didn't feel particularly homey or comfortable sitting in to eat. Nothing inherently wrong with it but it just felt dated and not too special. The food itself is good but it's not as well balanced as Saku's flavours. Last time I came here, the rice accompanied by my set meal was soft and borderline mushy, so the consistency is really hit or miss here. The restaurant plays loud music and it isn't the most comfortable place to sit, eat and chat. Overall, it's alright.
