If I'm totally honest, the reason I picked this place is because it's the same name as a casino in Las Vegas. Silly reason, I know. But, I do understand that rings sometimes have issues. And, in this case, my wife realized that her diamond was a bit loose. So, here's where I got an education about diamonds that I hoped I would never need. First of all, to get coverage on your homeowners insurance, you have to make a specific rider to your insurance. I didn't do that. Fortunately, the lady at Golden Nugget helped me through the whole thing. It didn't surprise me that she tried to convince me that the diamond itself should be replaced. She gave me that magnifying eyepiece that jewelers use, and she said, "Look, there's a chip on the top part over there." I couldn't see anything. And, if I can't see anything with magnification, I don't think it's that big of a deal. For the record, my wife was OK with that decision, especially since our daughter just started college. But, the nice thing was that she didn't press the issue. When she found out I didn't have insurance coverage, she helped me find the best possible option to reset the diamond. It cost $180, which seems like a lot, and it took a week to do, which seemed like a long time, but it's a small price compared to the price of the diamond itself. And, the ring seriously looks like a new ring after the repair. One minor annoyance was that they won't do appraisals on rings that they didn't sell. But, if I have any issues with my ring or with hers again, I think I'll come back here. And, by then, I should have my homeowners insurance in place to cover it.

Troy Jewelers quoted him $10, so we stopped in here today. We initially talked to the younger gentleman behind the counter, but the older gentleman was the one who helped us resize the watches. He ended up only charging us $6 per watch, since he said the job ended up being easier rather than harder, which is a really nice deal. I asked them how long they've been in business, also; they've been at this location for five years, but they used to be at 16 and Dequindre for 25 years before that. (so, needless to say, they know their craft!) Overall I would recommend this jeweler for your resizing needs, he said they do bands (custom bands, I'm guessing?) as well, and of course they have rings and other jewelry for sale too.

They replaced the guts or mechanism inside wrist watch they said watch would work like new like as when I purchased the watch. It seems to work fine for 3 years but then I thought it stopped. So I went back to Sparkles Jewelry to see what they could do for me scene I had them repair the wrist watch earlier. They told me that wrist watch is out of warranty. They would have to have there repair department take look at it again to see what the issue is, they said that they have to replace the mechanism again. It would cost another $170.00. I refused and I took my watch to Taj Jewelers and told them what is going on. They sent it to their repair department they called me to say that the wrist watch was ready to pick up, when I went to pick up my watch they told me that there was nothing wrong or broken, I was not winding the watch enough, (it is a self wind) so I guess I'm not moving enough scenes I retired for it to keep the correct time. So the Jeweler recommended me to, when I'm going to wear the wrist watch to shake the watch back and forth for a few minutes to force wind to help wrist watch keep the correct time. They didn't charge me anything. I'm glad I went to a different Jeweler to take a second look at my wrist watch because Sparkle Jeweler wanted another $ 170.00 and Taj Jeweler charged nothing (0) and told me what I'm doing wrong and how to remedy that problem. Thank you Taj Jeweler. (Sparkle Jeweler should find a better solution to keep there customer happy with their service.) Unsatisfied customer !!! The team genuinely cares and were more than willing to even expedite the service so that I would have it back in time for my 20th wedding anniversary.
