I'd like to say that the service was exceptionally lovely by the staff! But I will say that I felt that the ramen was lacking on flavor. My friend got a bit more of the spicy broth and said that their's was full of taste. I got the karaage ramen, simply because I had never seen or heard that kind of dish before. The fried chicken was placed on the outside with a dipping sauce, and maybe that was why the richness lacked. Maybe if I got a pork bowl that had the meat in the broth, there would be more of that pooling taste mixed with the ingredients. I would be open to visit again for the service and to try Susuru again for another ramen bowl, but I unfortunately do not recommend the karaage ramen. read more

Service has been impeccable. Super welcoming and I've always got seated quickly. The vibe is perfect, traditional artwork and banners give it a unique-ness. I've had a couple appetizers such as the fried calamari and gyoza, which were cooked with love and thought. Great way to start off the real deal. The Tonkostu ramen is by far one of my favorites. Everything compliments each other, packed with flavor and freshness. We were greater by the chef and showed our appreciation of how great this was. Really wanted to try this place since it just opened. Service: the people were all very nice. The speed of food delivery is quick. Pork Broth: not rich enough, expect more flavor from a pork-based broth. Tasted better when we added chili oil to it, since the broth was missing that fat factor expected from pork. Toppings: egg was good, eel was good, karaage on the side was good. Chashu was too thin and not very fatty (a bit dry), duck was bad (too hard to chew/overcooked) We still prefer our other place thats serves tonkatsu ramen closer to home than this one (flavor-wise), but this place has interesting topping options (like unagi). Would try some of their sides, maybe, or an unagi don next time. The rice dishes might be better than the ramen. Okay ramen. If you're in the area and are REALLY craving ramen, then this might do it, but I wasn't knocked out. The miso broth was almost like water. (No flavor) I ordered extra noodles, which in every ramen shop I've been to gets served on the side, and I didn't get them. When I asked the server, he said that they were already in the bowl. My friend also got ramen, but without the extra noodles, and we had the same amount of noodles. I got a boiled egg in my ramen and it was a bit like rubber. The bathroom was a bit of a mess and really needed to be serviced. The seating area was pleasant enough. The prices are reasonable. read more

Was excited to see Susuru open a few months ago in the old Nick's pizza space. They didn't do a ton to renovate or even remove the Nick's sign out front, and initially their menu skewed to seafood which my wife isn't a fan of, so it ended up slipping down the priority list. Finally decided to give it a go for delivery and was not disappointed. We tried the soup dumplings, which were a good rendition of a classic. I got the roasted duck don (rice bowl). For $15, this was a good value. It's hard to find duck without paying a pretty penny, and this duck was well cooked with a good ratio of fat-to-meat. Egg was perfectly cooked and the gyoza were great. Pickled veggies, sauce and plenty rice rice made it a well sized meal. My wife got the veggie ramen and really liked it. My family tried Susuru Ramen. Since we love ramen and it was nearby, we thought it would be fun to try it. The food itself was fine, definitely not the best ramen we've ever had, but nothing awful either. The biggest issue was the customer service. We placed an order for takeout and part of our order was not in the bag. We called the shop and they kept insisting they put it in there. Turns out, they put it in a different order by mistake, and they offered us a gift certificate along with the missing element. It left a bad taste in my mouth that they would question the customer over something small and that they actually made a mistake over. It is much more inconvenient for us to come back to the restaurant over something small. I don't like leaving negative reviews. Since they're new and a small business, I decided to give it three stars instead of two. I think people should try the food themselves if they desire and come to their own conclusions. we heard about this place from my sister in law. this was the former location of nicks pizza and the inside looks similar in lay out, but they've completely changed the look and feel so it's a great dine in place. my looks and i tried the tonkotsu and miso ramen. both were excellent with good portion sizes for the price. the soft egg was my daughters favorite. both kids complained about the pork because they are used to pork belly chasu, but that's what it was... fattier pieces of roast pork. i love the seaweed and the wood ear mushroom with bamboo pieces. all of my favorite foods. i look forward to coming again with family. perfect for a cold winters meal. the only complaint is the decorative wooden spoons. they are really really cute but kinda silly to eat from. both the kids struggled to eat from them and it definitely was not easy to slurp noodles from. they sell gift cards too! great place to gift a meal! read more
